My family visited recently, and I insisted on writing a review. They dined on a Wednesday evening after making a reservation. Let's start with the parking lot: parking spaces were limited, and the surrounding neighborhood was a little sketchy. However, the parking was free. The restaurant was decently packed with customers, especially for a Wednesday evening. Unfortunately, they had run out of the majority of their side options, leaving only greens and green beans available. They also mentioned that the rice was spoiled, as it smelled and tasted foul. Lastly, the fried chicken wings were fatty and still had feathers on them. Considering all of the negatives they experienced, they did mention that the waiter's customer service remained very good. I went on a Wednesday night and sat at the bar. They had $7.50 tequila sunrises and .75 wings with a min order of 8. The wings were good and crispy. The pretty in pink Valentine's Day drink I ordered was so good and cute it was $17. That was too expensive to me but I liked the drink overall. I enjoyed the $5 hookah as well. The bartenders were friendly and the place was decorated in Valentine's Day theme which was soooo cute! If I could give negative stars I would. Sever took 15 minutes to greet my group of 4 after being sat. after taking our order it took another 15 to bring our drinks. Our Server Chris could not remember anything. We watched him walk around to multiple tables asking if anyone was waiting on the mimosa tower that our table ordered. Then after he brung the mimosas he asked if we were ready to order even though he already took our order 20 minutes ago. After this incident we spoke to the manager who was also not very helpful. After an hour of waiting for our food it did not meet expectations and when I spoke to the manager all he said was well this is how we do it here. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. We came here for my friend's birthday brunch at 12:00 PM. It is now 2:24 PM and we still haven't received our food. To make it worse, people who came in after us were seated, ordered, and got their food before we did. Our server was gone most of the time and barely checked on us. Our drinks sat at the bar for 15 to 20 minutes before anyone brought them over. The restaurant wasn't even busy when we arrived. First of all, don't let the outside look scare you away. It almost made me turn around. The inside is nice and has lounge vibes. We walked in for brunch on Saturday and it was slow. The servers were very nice to us and hospitable. They get an A+ for service. As for the food, we shared jerk oxtails with mashed potatoes and a mimosa carafe. The entree came with just two oxtails with lots of gravy and mashed potatoes. It was $27 so I guess that's about $8-$10 less than what I'm used to paying at more upscale restaurants in Houston. I thought the jerk oxtails weren't jerk enough. I think it needed more of that Jamaican flavor. Overall it was good but not sure if it's worth coming again. The mimosa with pineapple juice was great. We entered Victor's restaurant. It was nice inside it dim lights so you really can't tell how clean it is, but it appeared to be clean. The service was very good. We enjoyed everything that we ordered my daughter had got the chicken fried chicken. She waited longer than we did because they didn't wanna bring out a small piece to her, which it still look like it was small, but it was good. The green beans no seasoning she didn't eat those we had greens on the side. The greens were excellent. Had nice big chunks of turkey meat in it I ordered the lamb chops. I got four of them and I had a side of greens and I also ordered oxtails on a bed of rice for my husband and I had ordered him a side of greens to go but they didn't put the greens in the order. My sister had that fried catfish with yams and greens. She enjoyed hers. We all tasted each other's food. It was OK. We had a little sample of the dirty rice it was good. We ordered drinks while we were there. Me and my daughter. She had a lemon drop and I had my Remi on the rocks. My sister didn't drink. We will come back again. We like the place we want to go back again and try brunch and I wanna go again on Thursdays for the five dollar lamb chops so we will return again. We enjoyed our visit there. We reserved a table for 6 and paid 42.00 for the reservation. Upon arrival we were seated at a booth that was a really nice size but the table was too small for the booth and 6 guest. Tried to explain we needed room to eat due to the size of the people in our party and could we be seat at another empty table. The waitress went to speak to the manager and came and said we couldn't sit at the table because they had reservations for the table at 9. I told her ok we paid for a reservation and was certain seating given when you pay for the reservation. She said no and she would get the manager, whom never came to speak with us. So needless to say we sat in the exlarge booth with a miniature table. The food was terrible spinach dip tasted like it had beans in it, fish came out cold and when we told the waitress it was cold she took it back. Appeared the cook put it back in the fryer and cooked it more to warm it up. The fish was very salty and way overcooked. The best thing this place offered was the drinks they were nice and strong but very pricey. The food was also pricey for what came out of their kitchen. The waitress did as best as she could with what she was being dealt. So no complaints there! On the way out heard another customer saying they had been waiting for 4 hours and had not gotten anything to eat so they were leaving. Parking was terrible and very limited. Oh forgot to mention that large party for the empty tables never appeared. This place has to do better. Food was mediocre but nothing to complain about. It was served hot, timely and plentiful. We were there during brunch so our group had a bit of everything and no one was disappointed with the food. I had the Catfish and Grits with Cajun spice. It was tasty. Fish cooked crisp and served hot. Mac n cheese was tasty. Someone ordered chicken wings which were the full wings. They looked great and were delicious I was told. This spot is great potential for large parties and offers great service and music. It's very upbeat.
