Per the vet, if we did not do the surgery, our dog would not make it another day, and we most likely would have to do chemo to have another 7 months with him. When asked how much the surgery would cost, we were told 7-9K! My issue is this... we literally had to make a life and death decision, in a split second, put a number on the life of our family member, without any time to think. Unfortunately, we just couldn't afford to attempt to save his life, as many could NOT afford that kind of money right now, although I was looking for credit cards to finance saving my dogs life. It should not be this way. I feel that these "Emergency Rooms" for pets know exactly how animal lover's will pay just about any amount to save their fur baby's life. I feel they use emotional manipulation to over charge and should be regulated. I do not feel that they went into this line of work for the love of animals. It's definitely a business, and a cruel one at that. We still walked out spending $1500 to euthanize our dog in a hurry to stop his suffering. It's a shame that all the vets that went into this line of work are now corporate cogs that only care about money, not the animals or the families...

Couple recent encounters where I felt the service was exceptional: Two years ago my two month old rescue puppy fell very ill. The clinic is closed on Saturday and I was referred to Vergi. The vet at Vergi wanted to do a $6000 surgery and when we declined, pressured us to euthanize him (not exaggerating about the pressuring). The next day (Sunday) we went to see Dr. Hamilton. Meris blocked out an entire hour to devote to figuring out what was wrong with the puppy. He had a kidney infection which a round of antibiotics and steroids knocked out in 3 days. Just this past week which is why I'm writing this review now, one of my cats looked like she was dying (to the point we were planning her funeral). Rather than give up on her, I decided to take her in to the vet. Difficult diagnosis with a controversial treatment, Dr. Hamilton diagnosed her with Feline Infectious Peritonitis. Untreated, FIP is 100% fatal. Possibly the most difficult pet issue I've had to deal with to date. She's been on the antivirals 3 days now and will have to take them another 3 months. She may still die but she is already looking a lot better. Summer is only 6 years old. I also want to mention that aftercare at the clinic is attentive and outstanding. Dr. Hamilton and Meris truly care about the animals they treat.

Dr. Jasti has gone above and beyond in his care for Duke. As you can imagine this has/is an extremely frightening and stressful experience. He has held our hand through the entire process from always taking our calls (he sees my number come up and just answers himself, lol), calling back to check on Duke, etc. and not asking to do any unnecessary expensive medical procedures. He has been there as we regulate his medications and work to get his epilepsy under control. I do not ever wish this condition on any pet owner, but we could not have asked for a better vet to help us through this and be there for us and Duke! With a business trip coming up in just one week, I needed to get everything sorted out quickly to board her. I contacted Neighborhood Pet Hospital and spoke with Aurora, who was incredibly helpful. I explained the situation, sent over the confused medical records, and she got us scheduled right away. The veterinarian was thorough and on time, carefully reviewed both the original messy records and the corrected ones, gave my cat her third FVRCP dose, and did a complete exam including verifying that her previously broken leg had healed properly. They got everything taken care of in time for my trip, and I really appreciated how they worked with such complicated circumstances. Reading reviews and got nervouse about the one that is not so good and was excited about the one that is way good. I decided to pick her. she is conservative and very knowledgable. She is straight to the point but very kind and considerated knowing that mommy cares and loves for her fur baby. She spent time to explain everything needed until I felt relaxed. I too am conservative in treating my newly diagnosed diabetic fur baby. I couldn't sleep many nights due to fear over uncertainty and my baby's life and wellbeing. Dr. Mac has lessen burden with her kind and professional consulting. Her consutling fee is fair and right. Afer 3 days of conservative dose of Vesulin, my baby shows sign of improvement. He peed less inside the house, infact no trace of peeing and excessive water drinking the past 3 days. I my part increase exercise by walking him now daily. It's quite a wake up call. Fur parents, do wake up and do your part for the process of healing our babies. I highly recommend, Dr. Mac, who helped me in this journey. Also the clinic is pleasant and staffs are pleasant to work with. Also, I highly recommend to read handouts that Dr. Mac provided to prevent unforseen error act. The handouts stated to have meal before insurin on the training day, the staff was so in to the training and prepared the training shot, I stopped the staff stating the baby needs to eat something before the real shot. So parents do your part, the staffs also need to ask question if the fur baby had eaten anything before the training. They probably forgot but we as parents must educate ourselves through the handouts to prevent any unforseen errornous outcome.
