From the moment we arrived, everything felt calm, efficient, and reassuring. We were helped immediately and the open concept layout made such a difference for me. Emergency vet visits can already be frightening and being able to remain aware of what was happening with our pup helped me and my husband feel much more at ease. The veterinarian who appeared to be leading our dog's care had such a calm and comforting presence. She was incredibly patient and made us feel that our concerns were being taken seriously, and that same level of kindness and compassion carried through with every staff member who helped care for our girl. The entire team truly made this experience feel far less frightening than anticipated. In past emergency vet experiences, limited communication and a less personal approach have made an already frightening situation feel even more anxiety-inducing. Here, the staff remained calm and kept us informed, making the entire experience feel much more reassuring. We truly left feeling so grateful and much less fearful of needing emergency care for our dogs in the future. We will absolutely keep this clinic in mind and recommend it to other pet owners. My bulldog was rushed to VEG two weeks ago, when he was panting and his gums were cold and white. They did a scan and said he had a large tumor on his spleen that burst and he would need surgery, and it was likely cancer. Per the vet, if we did not do the surgery, our dog would not make it another day, and we most likely would have to do chemo to have another 7 months with him. When asked how much the surgery would cost, we were told 7-9K! My issue is this... we literally had to make a life and death decision, in a split second, put a number on the life of our family member, without any time to think. Unfortunately, we just couldn't afford to attempt to save his life, as many could NOT afford that kind of money right now, although I was looking for credit cards to finance saving my dogs life. It should not be this way. I feel that these "Emergency Rooms" for pets know exactly how animal lover's will pay just about any amount to save their fur baby's life. I feel they use emotional manipulation to over charge and should be regulated. I do not feel that they went into this line of work for the love of animals. It's definitely a business, and a cruel one at that. We still walked out spending $1500 to euthanize our dog in a hurry to stop his suffering. It's a shame that all the vets that went into this line of work are now corporate cogs that only care about money, not the animals or the families... read more

We came here as our vet was closed. The vets and the staff were very quick to react to help my cat. It was very emotional to us and the staff was very supportive and kind. My dog was only five years old. He died after being treated at VEG. I took him to VEG because his urine was red. They performed tests, X-rays, and an examination. After about three hours, they sent him home with a diagnosis of a urinary tract infection, saying it was a condition that is usually easy to treat. Shortly after we returned home, my dog's legs began to tremble. I immediately called VEG. I was told that he was likely just stressed from the emergency visit and that he would be fine. When I saw that he could not even take the medication they had prescribed, I called VEG again. I was given the same response--that it was only stress and nothing to worry about. Several hours later, my dog passed away. I cannot help but wonder whether the outcome could have been different if he had been given antibiotics before discharge, or if I had been advised to bring him back immediately when his condition worsened. I was charged almost $1,500 just to have my dogs lacerations on his paw clipped and cleaned. The charges weren't even for sutures. When asked what all of those charges were for because I didn't understand why it was so much when I could do this at home the lady caught a smooth attitude. Guess what I did at home? Clipped and cleaned it for free. He did NOT need to be sedated. She was so rough with trying to see the area as well. I will NEVER come back here. New place. I called ahead to give them a heads up. They were kind and helpful. I Took in a stray kitten with head injury. They immediately met me at the door and placed the kitten on the table in the lobby area (there's no lobby area per se) to triage. They immediately met vet herself introduced herself right away and examined the kitten. He was 6 weeks old. This is the first emergency vet experience I've ever had (and I've had at least 10) where I was in and out in two hours & the cost was under $500. That's insane. Normally I expect to wait hours to be seen, hours for testing, and hours to leave. The only thing I didn't favor is then having to put a $400 hold on my card "in case" what they did was over what they quoted.. nonetheless I still paid under $500. I brought in my 17 year old Scruffy who went to bed normal (for him) and woke up - well it wasn't good. They offered to run tests, but he'd have to be put under anesthesia. Also could have waited a few days to see if things changed. I didn't want to put him through any of that and made the hardest decision of my life thus far, to euthanize him. The vet and staff could not have been more emphatic, understanding or helpful. They were so caring and calm as I broke down. They remained focused on my angel and gave my guy a peaceful send off.
