We popped in for a quick bite. We ordered the bruschetta (tomatoes were tasteless), the Caesar salad with "homemade" dressing (it was terrible) and the Quattro formaggi pizza with added spicy salami and sausage (this was actually good though I don't recall the description mentioning it was a white/no sauce pizza). Stay away from the pizza or calzones! Neither was notable other the lack of ricotta in the calzone and that the cheese used did not completely melt. Oh. The calzone also had a strange fishy taste, which for ham was a bit off. On the positives, the bar staff was entertaining. Between some very demanding and peculiar customers ("No! My lime must be twisted the other way!! *turns it over* and "I don't care what the bottle says...that isn't the right whiskey") their attempts at Tom Cruise's "Cocktail" moves were a miss but the loose ice cube became a "GOOOOAAALLL!!!" Not to be missed. And I enjoyed the Italian lager, Peroni (part of a Yelp deal). I'm sure the regular Italian food would have been good - make reservations else you will be relegated to the bar and not worthy pizza and calzone. Overall, prices seemed reasonable (especially for this tourist part of London), but if you want pizza, there are other places must rank higher despite this place being voted one of London's top 10 Italian restaurants in 2017. read more

My favorite restaurant of our entire Europe trip. The carbonara is so rich and creamy and amazing OMG. It's the best thing I have ever put in my mouth. The shining star of the meal The pizza was delicious. Very cheesy. The Caesar salad was bland and had no flavor. I would skip this. The almond cookie martini was SOOOO amazing. This restaurant is located right across the bridge from Parliament and Westminster Abby. Great location! I did not have a reservation but the restaurant was able to accommodate me. The decor was not anything special to talk about. I did not like the candle on the table. Was a bit of a fire hazard. The food was unbelievably delicious! I wanted the vegetable lasagna but the restaurant was out. I got the vegetarian ravioli instead. It was delicious. The ravioli was made in the restaurant by hand. Its New Years Eve and my partner and i had been to two other places to have a drink, we then found Locale near to the London Eye (we came to watch the fireworks at midnight) this place although busy had a place to sit down and have a drink while we were waiting. The doorman come bouncers did'nt look friendly the prices were pretty expensive on the drinks which quickly emptied you wallet, but the staff were friendly and helpful. Very basic decor and this place was also a resturant which was funny because although this place was very busy and people wanting to have a table ,half the tables were empty but they were being told there was a waiting time. Family and I dined here twice will on vacation in London. We have some very picky eaters, and Locale had something for everyone. The whole family loved it (thus the 2nd visit). On our first visit one of my daughters and I had the Bucatini Carbonara - we both LOVED it. If I am being honest I had to fight the urge to lick my plate clean! My wife had the vegetarian Ravioli, and my other daughter had the Margherita Pizza - everything was excellent. For desert - we all highly recommend their homemade ice creams. The ice cream was such a hit - on the 2nd visit my wife, who almost never gets desert had to get 3 scoops to sample 3 different flavors. Our favorites were chocolate, white chocolate, salted caramel and my personal favorite - Amarena (Black Cherry). On top of the excellent food, the location was great - right near the London Eye and County Hall (where our hotel was) and a 5 minute walk from Parliament and Big Ben. Service was very good and the prices very reasonable - especially for the quality of the overall dining experience. Next time we go to London - no question - we will visit them again! read more

If I could give a negative review, I would! This place was awful. We wanted to just get an appetizer and a pizza to share, but they required us to order 2 main dishes! Which naturally was too much food and we ended up getting wasting a lot of food. We waited WAY longer then people who came in after us for our food, we were there for a whole hour before getting our main dish. People who had order after us were already almost done with their meal by the time ours came. My cocktail had MOSTLY ice so I took a few sips and it was gone. We wanted a diavolo pizza which is supposed to be spicy salami.. they brought us a pepperoni pizza. The pizza was average, I could've got better at Dominos! The service was AWFUL! Good authentic Italian that pleased the entire family. The lasagne was creamy and delicious, and other pasta dishes delighted. The filetto of beef was less successful but might have seemed tough because there was no steak knife provided and so had to make do with the butter knife. First time in London and what an experience. My boyfriend ended up braking both his feet in the country before this. He's in a wheel chair and makes it very hard to get around. This restaurant was THE most accommodating out of anyone by far. That's just where it started. The food was OUTSTANDING. We started with calamari, burrata, mussels, and pizza garlic bread. We went to Locale not expecting that much, after all it's just Italian... we ended up having such a simple but oh so tasty meal. We used up all the pizza crust to get the leftover sauce from each other's plates! We're a family of five and it felt great... Calamari was deliciously crunchy, my Seafood linguine was perfect, so fresh and not too sour. Every meal had a deep flavor, because they use house made tomato sauce. Kids loved their pizza, breaded chicken on pasta and meatballs. I'd say for a nice place like that, kids meals were very well priced and portioned.
