The girl was super slow, talking to friends etc. the cold brew ran out for the lady in front of me so I stood there for five minutes while she stared at the wall waiting for the dude to change it. Worst part was the smoothies though. Straight ratchet. Huge waste of money. Pasteurized orange juice out of a one gallon jug with dried coconut flakes (are you kidding me?!), frozen pineapple and mango chunks. Probably 85 cents worth of ingredients for 9$ (small). Then she blended it on low so everything wasn't even blended properly. Just dry coconut chips floating in cheap juice and frozen fruit. Total garbage. This coffee shop is essentially located INSIDE the 7th Street Surf Shop, which gives both places kind of a cool vibe. I grabbed coffee here a few times over the summer and was always happy with the service and the large menu of coffee drink that they have on the menu. I love how the coffee bar just lines one side of the store. It makes for a really unique atmosphere that you typically do not find on the boardwalk. I have never had to wait in line here and my service was always really quick. PRO TIP: Check out the merchandise they sell behind the counter. It's definitely cooler and "local" than the 7th Street Surf Shop apparel and probably cheaper too. The coffee is NOT cheap but its definitely a higher quality. I certainly hope this place stays in business through next summer. read more

Good coffee shop located in the 7th street surf shop. The staff is very friendly and kind. The coffee is good, I usually get an iced latte which is good. I sweat last year they had coffee ice cubes but we didn't get them on our last visit so not sure if that was just a special thing. read more

So nice to find such quality on the boardwalk. The staff is nice, variety of coffee drinks is great, and the place is clean. They make ice cubes out of coffee for their ice coffee drinks, which is outstanding, keeping the coffee true-strength and not watered down. It's things like this that make me think they really care about their business and the products they sell. read more

I was on vacation in Ocean City and wanted a cup of coffee and a smoothie. I decided to try Locals based on some of the other reviews. They are either fake or this place has gone way down hill recently. First of all I go there and they don't have espresso because the machine didn't work. I'm not quite sure how you can be a coffee shop without espresso. Then I order a smoothie. An older blonde woman was working. She was extremely unfriendly. She takes my card and doesn't know the price of the drink. Don't you work here? Hello? She leaves with my card and says she doesn't know what to charge me. I sat at the bar to have my smoothie and she rudely tells me I have to pick up my drink where I paid for it. This place needs to get it together. Two stars was nice. read more

It's hard to believe that all of these reviews are real. Apparently something must have happened between last summer and this one. The quality is horrible. Coming from a background in specially coffee it's insane that this is considered good by anyone. Dunkin is better, and that's saying a lot. Stick to smoothies and frozen stuff. The espresso was horrible, the iced coffee was horrible, and the service was horrible. You should just sell that Simonelli machine and get nespresso pods. read more

Don't let the unassuming location (tucked on the right side of an arcade) fool you, this is THE place in Ocean City for an authentic Italian cappuccino served in a traditional porcelain cup with a bar to sit and enjoy the boardwalk and ocean view. This place deserves spot #1 on any "best of ocean city" list and is likely the most overlooked boardwalk treasure I've come across. Locals produces a product as good as I get in any larger city. and I look forward to returning every time I am in Ocean City. Gourmet coffee and world class espresso. Excellent friendly service. Fresh brewed organic iced tea. Fabulous ocean view from tiki bar. Hot spot for local surfers. Next to sort of inside arcade, which is totally old-school boardwalk arcade. Great place to chill and coffee is remarkably good. read more

First I saw the equipment, that told me they knew about great equipment, then I saw the roast of the beans in their espresso grinder, that told me they were connoisseurs of third-wave specialty coffee, then I saw them serve a cappuccino in a 8oz cup, that told me they knew the importance of balance between milk and espresso...traditionally a cappuccino is served in a 6oz cup but 8oz is a good compromise...then I order one for me and I truly enjoyed it while watching fireworks on the boardwalk :) if you know of places like Blue Bottle Coffee, Stumptown, Nine st Espresso, you will NOT be disappointed here...only one thing missing: a Single Origin Pour Over menu :) read more

I walked up to locals coffee on the boardwalk in Ocean City expecting a decent espresso. After the barista presented me with a dopio I was immediately impressed with the perfect thick crema. I complimented her and she said she'd been calibrating all morning. Her passion for that cup of espresso was evident. I could smell the caramel in the bean and after I sweetened the fragrant extract and tasted, I immediately realized that no sweetener was needed. I had to have more and ordered a single for the second. (Pun intended). The flavor of this coffee had no bitterness whatsoever and the effect of the roasting process was obvious in the flavors I experienced. Great job! I will be back and I recommend this small establishment for anyone that appreciates an excellent espresso. read more

I'm not a coffee drinker but the smoothies are great! I tried their peanut butter-banana-chocolate smoothie and it was amazing. They have almond and soy milk for those who don't drink milk. The service is friendly and they always are willing to accommodate a special need. read more

Got a smoothie that had "pineapple" in it. Was disappointed when they used Dole pineapple juice in my smoothie. They should label on the board pineapple juice not pineapple because I wouldn't have gotten it because all the added sugars in Dole canned juice. Also they used all frozen fruit which was disappointing. Only thing not frozen was the banana. Service was good and efficient! read more

With two teenage/young adult boys it was hard agreeing where get a bite while on vacation in Ocean City. My oldest suggested we head up to Locals on the boardwalk to get smoothies and bagels for breakfast. He wanted to watch the surfers and check out the waves while we ate. Wow, I am glad we went. My older son had the Mac and Mango smoothie and he said he loved it. My younger son had a cold brew and a peanut butter lovesickle, and he refused to share! (That means it was toooooo good to share) I had a cold brew and tried an açaí bowl and it was incredible! Refreshing, delicious, fresh and healthy were understatements! I loved it so much i ended up going back every day for a açaí bowl! Plus I didn't feel guilty eating it! SCORE! The staff was great, really nice. In fact one of the women working their making the smoothies remembered my name and welcomed me back each day with a smile. It was like Cheers "where everybody knows your name". My sons even ended up meeting some people from the neighboring surf shop and renting surf boards. So I would sit and chat. I never felt awkward sitting alone. I honestly can say we had a great week in OC and the vibe, food and drinks at Locals was a big part of it! Locals is now one of my FAV spots in OCNJ and will surely be a frequent stop whenever on the island. read more

I would not recommend going here if you are looking for authentic espresso. Barista pulled my shot in 5 seconds using approx 14 grams of coffee. To get a good extraction that shot should take 20 to 25 seconds. Bottom line is a very watery UN flavorful cappuccino. I have yet to find great espresso in OCNJ read more
