The granola was just 4 massive chunks in each bowl that were tough to break apart. The fruit was good, the strawberry banana base was delicious. Seating was limited outside. This place offers a huge selection of smoothies, bowls with different bases, fresh fruits and toppings. The staff we interacted with were very friendly and made some great suggestions from the menu. The prices are pretty reasonable - especially considering the closer you get to the beach the more $$$ things cost. Generally there are choices of 16oz or 24oz size. There is no inside seating, you order from a walk-up window and pick up from a pick-up window. There are some benches and chairs on the 11th street side and the Asbury Ave side. While we were waiting for our bowls and smoothies on the little bench, we saw a good amount of people walk up to the pickup window and grab something they had already ordered so seems like you can order in advance as well. It was very busy, which generally is a good sign. We really liked everything we ordered and will most definitely be back to try more! Go ahead and make a stop here! read more

The fruit was not ripe which made it very sour and the bowls were half full when typically they are over flowing. We ordered 3 bowls and only received 2. Such yummy options!! We got bowls and a smoothie and loved how pretty and tasty they were! There was a bit of a line walking up in the morning (around 11ish), but they took orders and got everything out pretty quickly. The California vibes Bungalow Bowls gave me as we drove by persuaded me to stop and see what it was all about. I loved the colorful menus, seating and overall aesthetic of the bowls themselves. I'm new to the açaí bowl scene, so I tried a pitaya bowl on this visit. I ordered the Wildflowers bowl which included granola, kiwi, mango, blackberries and honey drizzle on top of a blended dragonfruit base. It was supposed to include an edible flower, however, mine did not have a flower. It was very delicious, fresh and filling, though! The prices were reasonable for the size of the bowls -- as a matter of fact, you could probably share one bowl between two people. The ordering process was pretty standard. They call your name when your order is ready and you pick it up at the pick-up window. There were napkins and spoons at the counter for easy self-service. The line was a little disorganized and a several customers were waiting around, but everything moved pretty quickly and seamlessly. The employees looked like they were all wearing masks inside. Definitely a great first experience for me. I recommend Bungalow Bowls to anyone looking for a refreshing way to start their day. read more

Bowl tasted fine, service was less than average. I came with my aunt to order a few açaí bowls for the family. I stated that I wanted a Come original bowl and a Good Vibrations bowl. My cousin, who had been stressed out studying all week, requested my aunt get her a coconut bowl with a few fruits. My aunt asked the lady at the counter for a coconut bowl to which she responded we needed to go to Playa Bowls for it (it was not open on this day). We asked for alternatives but this lady was quite rude and just continued to tell us to go to Playa Bowls. We ended up getting coconut flakes on an açaí bowl with some fruit instead. This employee did not help at all. This entire ordeal took about 8 minutes of solid back and forth too, which was a bit frustrating. My aunt asked several times how long the order would take, but the employee outright ignored her. Unsure if she was being rude or just genuinely didn't care enough to pay attention. She rung us up only to completely exclude everything but the original. Even after the 8 minute ordeal, it seemed she had registered nothing. Her attitude toward us really made the experience quite unpleasant. I will say that the bowls here are a bit smaller than at Playa Bowls, but you get what you pay for and they taste exactly as you'd expect. I enjoyed my Come Original bowl, although the blueberries were REALLLY sour, but it was a solid bowl! Nothing negative to say about the food, just the service. Great quality açaí bowl for the area and not too expensive! It's only $9 for a HUGE açaí bowl and the extra toppings are only 50 cents! Service here was quick and the employees were very helpful. I ordered a 'come original' bowl and it was loaded with blueberries, banana and granola! Portion size was nice and big, although I wish there was a little more granola. I also got peanut butter in my bowl which was a great addition for only 50 cents. The açaí smoothie part of the bowl was a bit frozen when I got it but after waiting about 5 minutes to eat, it all mixed together perfectly! Bungalow bowls doesn't have much space inside so I imagine it gets crowded quickly, especially in the summer. read more

Bungalow bowls is one of the spots I look forward to visiting when in OCNJ. This is a perfect little shop to have at the beach with açaí bowls, smoothies and various toasts (like avocado toasts!). Bungalow bowls have so many options and combinations as well as ad ons for their smoothie bowls that it makes it hard to decide what I want but every single time they're delicious! I will say that you do need to eat your bowl right away esp when it's hot out because they do not hold up - I'm not sure if there is a solution to this but there have been times when my bowl is completely melted by the time I'm back to my place. Good food, poor customer service I live about an hour and a half away from the shore, and I took my family to the boardwalk last night for some end-of-summer treats. After getting the kids whatever they wanted on the boardwalk, I was really looking forward to a Bungalow Bowl. Once I realized their boardwalk location was closed permanently, I drove down to the store on Asbury. The door was wide open and there were quite a few employees inside. There was a woman who had just ordered standing at the window talking to the girl at the register. I waited a minute or two and the cashier acknowledged me and said "Are you wanting to place a new order?" I told her yes, and she informed me that it was 8:03 and they close at 8. They refused to serve me. I stood there, shocked. I asked if the register was already closed, and she said yes. The lady who had just ordered was a local and took pity on my disappointment and told me I could have hers since she lives closeby. As she started to walk away, the employees all stood there, mouths agape, as their valued local customer walked away, having given a stranger the bowl she paid for. They began to clamor inside of the shop since they had disappointed their valued local, and a young man poked his head out and said he would serve me Açaí if I wanted, and they called the local lady back to get her bowl. By some sort of magic or perhaps an act of God, the register was functional again and they were able to take my money and serve me the bowl I had been so looking forward to. As there was no line behind me and literally nobody else in sight, I highly doubt the owner of this store would want these young children to turn a paying customer away 3 minutes after closing, while there was food left with the register still open. I will go to Playa Bowls in the Promenade from now on. read more

An employee left with gloves on, did many things with the same pair of gloves, walked back into the business with the same gloves and touched some bananas by the window within seconds of reentering the building. Your employees may have been taught how to correctly use gloves, but there seems to be no oversight in ensuring that they are following the guidelines you outlined. This is the newest acai bowl stop in Ocean city and it is so cute! It was crowded inside but being so new everyone was there to get a bowl or smoothie! The decor is so cute. Whether we ordered inside their shop (pre-COVID) or online (this year), every order is made exactly as we want with the freshest fruit and other ingredients. The online ordering is easy and efficient-you can see exactly what ingredients go into your bowl and substitute if needed (allergies, anyone!?) We love that you can pick from their menu of delicious bowls OR create your own. We also like that they recently introduced a smaller size bowl, as we have kids that wouldn't eat a whole regular size which is helpful financially ($6!!!!) and to avoid waste. I am not someone to write a negative review & have been a loyal customer since the Asbury location opened years ago. However, this summer the past 3 times I went was HORRIBLE customer service. I ordered online 2 of the times and waited over 20 minutes from the scheduled pickup time. People in line that ordered technically 40 minutes after me were getting their orders before me. Today, I asked the staff 3 times for updates, until they finally gave me the order & gave me the WRONG order. 2 weeks ago, I ordered a smoothie from the line. Kept waiting for 30 minutes. They never called my name. I went and asked the register twice. They said it was still in the making. Eventually I got a WARM smoothie... I am extremely disappointed with Bungalow Bowls this summer. Let's face it, this is the year of the smoothie bowl. After frequenting a chain close to home, and having tried the boardwalk offering of my açaí favorite I was ready to broaden my horizons. Surprisingly, I only waited 15 minutes from the time I got in line until the bowl was placed into my hands. So many options! They even had. Blue smoothie base ive never seen before. I opted for a green base with tropical fruit toppings and added new pollen because, why not! Large portion smoothie piled high with fresh ripe mango, kiwi, pineapple, banana and granola, sprinkled with little yellow bits of immune boosting pollen. Everyone was instagramming pics of their eye catching bowls before surprisingly scraping the bowl in awe they finished what seemed like a 2 person portion of ones weekly recommended fruit intake.
