I bought a high energy dog that I thought I could train myself. Once he hit six or seven months old…read morehe started becoming reactive. I tried a group training class and it was a miserable fail... we were basically kicked out. I was given a lot of advice, but after weeks of going to parks and walks, I wasn't making any progress. Thats where K9 fluent came in. I love their training options and structure. I did a 10 day boot camp. The training seems expensive, but is an amazing value since it includes them working with your dog, private lessons, group lessons, an e collar, and a place cot. They picked him up in the mornings and dropped him off at night. The private lessons were great so that we could start working with him at home. I've only joined one group class, but it was a great way to keep working on our skills. They do such a great job to really challenge your pup and put them in different real life situations. I'm so glad I was recommended to them. I had looked at numerous trainers, but I didn't feel comfortable with any of them. Many were too far away, had poor communication, or mixed reviews. Thats not the case with k9 fluent. We immediately felt comfortable with the owner when we had our consultation. Every trainer with the company has been knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. 10/10 recommend.

K9 Fluent is an amazing training group. They did a wonderful job with our sweet dog Laika. She has…read morea lot of energy, and had trouble listening when she was excited. After our 15 day boot camp and personal lessons she has come a long way. Of course she's a dog and a young lab mix, so she still is high energy and "Go, Go, Go!" But she has far more restraint now. The team will train your pup in whatever language you choose or multiple if you decide to go that route. We chose German and they did a great job following our choice. Everyone is friendly and love to have your dog join them for training. Laika, our pup, was so excited to go to training every day when we dropped her off in the morning. If you need training and want to know your dog will be respected and loved like you do at home, go with K9 Fluent. When I was considering which company to go with for training, I was most concerned with the different methods companies use to train the dogs. K9 Fluent will demonstrate their methods and show you the difference between E-collar and a shock-collar. I detest shock collars, and was a bit hesitant about an E-collar, but after I was able to test the collar on myself I completely understood my dog would not be hurt or punished by pain when being trained. You won't regret this, get your graduation photo on the board along with Laika!

She really knows her stuff, and she is able to make adjustments on the fly with individual dogs. I had 1 of my dogs do the board-and-train with her and the daily updates were so thorough. Abusive unethical treatment of my dog during board and train. I contracted for a two week board and…read moretrain to help me get a head start on working with a bouncy new dog we had rescued. I was told the training was all play and relationship based. I was concerned when I picked my dog up from the two week board and train because he kept trying to run away from the training room and hide behind my legs during turnover. Levi shocked him at such a high level that he cried multiple times when demonstrating commands (he told me that he was at a level 9 on a higher voltage collar than he originally started with because the dog is "stubborn" and "lazy."). I think dogs should always love training or something is being done wrong. Although I am not opposed to e collars in principle, I believe it was overused due to a lack of skill in really understanding this dog. When my dog came home I switched entirely to positive reinforcement because of what I had seen. At first my dog flinched when I gave him commands. He winced and turned on his side. He seemed afraid but like he did not know what to do to avoid punishment. I found an injury on his neck in the area the e-collar had been used. He is now working willingly and happily for me. There is never any "stubbornness" or "laziness." He loves training time. The program I purchased came with lifetime support if I returned for a follow up appointment, which of course I didn't do, because I could not fathom making my dog go back to the place of his mistreatment, and why would I want any more "advice" from abusive psuedo-trainers anyway? I did contact Levi about these concerns and he took zero accountability--which means he will do the same thing to more dogs.
