I called him later that same day and asked if we could set up an appointment for Friday. He said to call him around 8:30 Friday morning and he would "probably tell me to come in." I called around 8:40 Friday morning and he seemed to have zero recollection of any of our prior conversation. He said that he had a hectic week and was running very behind that morning. He said he just took a commercial call and would need to be somewhere at 10. I told him where I was from and he said it would take about 30 minutes to get to him and he would put me down for 9:15. He said the job would take about 10 minutes for me and he would need travel time to get to his next job. I left my house immediately after hanging up with him. I arrived at his "business" at 9:17 and he was nowhere to be found. The door was locked. I called his number and got a message saying that he could not answer his phone now and there was no voice mail. I sat in my car for a little over 5 minutes and waited to see if he would show up. He never did. I assumed he bailed on me to go to his supposed commercial job. I texted him later expressing that his actions were very unprofessional. He came back at me saying it he is busy and he is taking care of his family. Family means more than money to him. He said that I did not call him and that it was on me. WHAT?!? No one wants to be locked out of the house, but what do you do in case of an emergency? Call a…read morelocal locksmith, one that is available 24 hours. This was the case for my family last week. We were accidentally locked out of the house on evening and had to find a local locksmith quick. We checked online and found this place, but only after the first guy we called never bothered to pick up the phone. Sorry, we needed someone to get us back into the house now, not when someone bothered to check their messages after screening their calls. We went with this company and the operator was very nice and told us their guy would call us himself in a couple of minutes. Sure enough, the emergency locksmith called us back within one minute and told us that he'd probably be here within 20 minutes. We waited in our car in the rain for no more than 20 minutes when we arrived at our house, on time and with all of the necessary tools to get into the house. He immediately asked for our ID's to get into the house to ensure we were the homeowners. He appeared friendly and got there quickly, which was important if you're locked out of your house. Ironically, this was the oldest door and lock system that he'd ever encountered and the most intricate as well. Somehow, while it took forever to get in and turned out kinda expensive and was definitely more time-consuming than we had anticipated, we were kind of relieved the door lock system was so hard to bypass and basically impossible to break into. Still, it took more than a minute for him to get in (more like an hour and or more to get into the house). Every trick he tried didn't seem to work. He finally managed to get in, but the lock was damaged and had to replaced as it was an emergency. He replaced our fancy lock system and added a second deadbolt, without destroying our super heavy, customized hardwood door, one that we didn't relish replacing. I know the job turned out to entail a lot more than any of us envisioned, including the locksmith, who was working on it for two hours and even after it had gotten dark. He offered to clean up and gave us a slight discount, apologizing profusely for how long it took. I understood, it wasn't too easy, but I'm glad that it wasn't so easy and that he did as little damage as possible. In the end, it cost over $300 for everything, but the guy did a good job and it was a difficult one, so I think it was probably a decent rate with all the work he put into it. He tried to inconvenience us as little as possible and was courteous and professional. It was a costly mistake to make (leaving the keys on the sofa console table and both adults thinking the other had keys on them), but one that we won't make again (we truly hope, anyway). If we do, we would probably call this company again since they were so courteous and were able to get here asap.
