We had Mark Evans out to replace one ring camera and to bring another back online. He was terrific…read more He showed us the receipt for the camera and told us what the installation would cost before he began so that there would be no surprises. He also tailored the field for each camera to avoid cars driving by triggering a ring alert. More importantly, he worked with us and Ring Customer support for an extended period to bring all three cameras online. Due to some Ring technical glitch, only 2 of the 3 cameras were showing in our Ring phone apps. His expertise saved the day. We would not have been nearly as successful navigating with Ring without Mark to guide the conversation. I might also add that he is exceedingly patient as it took 3 calls with Ring before the problem was fixed.

I needed my lock replaced on the security door…read more I called this company and they sent out a technician. The technician let us know that the lock would need to be replaced (this was a diagnostic call) and offered to put WD-40 into the lock as a temporary solution. He did so, and this visit costed $250. The solution only worked for about one week before the door stopped working again. Then later, they gave us an invoice with an estimate on it for what it would cost to change the lock. It's an old lock and a simple brand of lock (Marks- a very common brand). They offered to fix the door for over $1500. Now this immediately seemed extremely excessive to me. My partner and I hesitated. We actually just let the situation go, thinking maybe we'll just use the back door since this seems like a really costly repair. Fortunately, months later, I had decided to do a deep dive. I noticed a few things: the invoice they sent was extremely vague, not listing what brand of lock they were trying to replace it with how much labor costed how much the Lock would cost- none of that. It simply said labor plus parts equals $1500. I looked at other companies in the area and eventually came across TOP LOCKSMITH SERVICES. Can you tell me why TOP LOCKSMITH SERVICES offered to do the job for 520 something dollars? They were extremely kind, courteous, way, more honest and transparent, and on top of all that they were flexible. I don't know if you can answer the question posed at the beginning of this paragraph, but I have a question for you: WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU GO TO A COMPANY THAT'S GONNA CHARGE YOU THREE TIMES AS MUCH? Stop playing with me. Y'all need to call Top Locksmith Services if you need help with a lock.

It feels weird to post a review of a business I only used once three and half years ago (to rekey…read morelocks on our then new home). But then again, it's weird to receive a past due notice from a business three and half years after the one time you used them, for a bill that was paid at the time of service. I didn't really appreciate the out-of-the-blue messages demanding either payment or proof of prior payment. Seems like Keyed In has some issues in the accounting department.

I would not recommend using this company. Poor communication, customer service, and dissapointing…read moreinstallation experience. We decided to use this company because we were having a difficult time finding another company who would reframe 3 of our doors inside. It took the company a long time to get our doors because we live in a historic home. The unexpected long timeline didn't bother us as much as the actual installation and payment steps for the doors. Kinglocksmith took 3 days to "complete" our new doors but the finished product looked terrible: smudges/fingerprints/permanent/marker/stickers on areas of the doors, nails sticking out of the floor and nail marks on the doors that were not covered, and areas around the doors where there were gaps from the reframing (we insisted they put molding and paint on to make it look less trashy). The company was aware that they had done a poor job finishing the doors and to their credit, they offered to send someone out to try and fix things. However, by the time they were able to have someone come and fix the doors, I had left the country for a trip. I had kindly requested that the company wait to process the final payment for the doors until I could at least view the finished product. They called my husband 4-5 times one afternoon regarding payment and he needed to remind them to please wait until Wednesday so we could both view the doors and they said yes. But they decided to just charge the card anyway on Monday prior to being able to view the finished product. Our new doors do technically close and fit better, but it wasn't worth the above-mentioned hastle. Update: minutes after I posted this review, I received a call from the owner of the company who demanded to know why I wrote a poor review, cut me off when I tried to speak, and was trying to blame me somehow instead of hearing me out. Again, just another example of poor customer service.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this company…read more My experience with King Locksmith was disappointing, although everyone I spoke with was polite and courteous. I originally contacted King Locksmith on Thursday, August 6, 2026 and went back and forth trying to get the service scheduled and discuss pricing. I was given a quote and asked if they offered a senior discount, which they did--10%. I agreed to move forward with the job, but unfortunately, they never followed up or showed up that day. On Friday, I called to find out what happened and was told they were extremely busy, backed up and couldn't get to me until Monday. Monday's appointment was scheduled for between 12:00-2:00 PM. That time was pushed back several times. I was first told it would be around 1:30, and later I was contacted and told it would probably be after 4:00 PM because the technician was still in Washington, DC, and was about an hour away from me. At that point, around 3:30 PM, I cancelled the appointment. It had been 5 days that we had tried to secure our property and make it safe thru King Locksmith. Here's where things turned out very well for me. I immediately contacted another locksmith company, and they accepted the service call at 3:30 PM for same day service and arrived within about an hour. King Locksmith had quoted me $220 to install their deadbolt. I also had "my own" lockset that I wanted installed on another door, and I was quoted $360 for "labor alone" to install my second lockset. The other locksmith that I hired, installed their deadbolt on one door AND they installed my lockset on another door. The the entire job came to only $250.00. So essentially, I paid only $30.00 more and I got both jobs completed with the hired locksmith, than what King Locksmith was going to charge me for just the deadbolt alone--. That saved me approximately $330 compared with what I would have paid King Locksmith. I actually believe the repeated delays ended up being a blessing in disguise because they forced me to find another company. I shared all of this with Demitrio when he contacted me on Tuesday to reschedule. I explained that the work had already been completed and that I got everything done for $330.00 less than his fee. I certainly appreciate that everyone I dealt with was polite and courteous. However, the repeated scheduling changes and the significant difference in pricing left me feeling that I truly dodged a bullet. Sometimes things work out exactly the way they're supposed to.

This guy is great. The first locksmith I called to take a look at the front door to my condo…read morebuilding said our current lock was unfix-able and wanted to charge $895 to replace the entire locking mechanism. The locksmith from the Lock Doctor came and just bent a piece of metal in the mechanism that had become warped in the cold weather. Needless to say, the bill was nowhere near $895. BTW, the Lock Doctor locksmith told me there is a nationwide scam going on with locksmiths. I found an article at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19714358/ if you want to learn more. If the locksmith you are using wants to be paid upfront, jacks up the price after doing the work, or works out of a fake address, you should beware. The first locksmith I had called had an address at 14th and Park roads right around the corner from me, but I later went by there and there was no locksmith anywhere on the block. Postscript: someone noted that the locksmith I recommend doesn't have a specific address, which is kind of funny given my comments above. I believe he works only on-site and doesn't maintain a physical store front (as scammer locksmith I used first fraudulently advertised). He lives in Logan Circle, so that represents the area from which he works.
