Jorge gave me the option of coming out later that day. When he promptly arrived, he quickly assessed the situation and recommended changing the key to match the rest of our home's exterior locks. He got to work and was researching whether or not my specific lock was able to be rekeyed. The information on the lock vendor's website was not thorough and explicit as to whether or not that model could be rekeyed. After about an hour of troubleshooting , Jorge eventually came to the conclusion that we could not rekey. He apologized for any inconvenience and only charged me for the unlock service. A few days later, he messaged back to let me know he called the manufacturer's technical support and verified that our specific model is, in fact, not able to be rekeyed. Jorge went above and beyond. Not sure if it was driven by curiosity or just doing a complete job for his clients. Regardless, it was an exceptional customer service experience and I wish there were more Jorge's providing services.

I called Star Mobile Locksmith after being locked out of my vehicle. The technician/owners worked…read moreon my Honda for more than two hours and attempted to make two different keys, but he was unable to get the key and alarm to connect to my vehicle. Neither key worked, and my problem was not resolved. When I told him I was not willing to pay because the service had not resulted in a working key, he took one of the keys he had made, twisted it, and threw it forcefully onto the ground in front of me. I found this behavior to be unprofessional. I left without knowing exactly what keys had been made or inserted into my vehicle. This concerned me because I don't have technical locksmith experience, and I was left wondering whether the unsuccessful attempts could have caused other issues, including possible damage to the ignition or lock system. I then contacted a different mobile locksmith, who diagnosed the issue, programmed the key and alarm correctly, and had my vehicle working in less than 30 minutes. This was my personal experience. I recommend that customers ask for a clear explanation of the work being performed, an upfront estimate, and confirmation that the technician has the correct equipment, technical ability to program their specific vehicle's key and alarm system, and experience working on their make and model before authorizing service. Or just simply avoid them all together.
