I cancelled an appointment with them and drove 4 hours away to have IGLA installed and Compustar instead. I mainly wanted IGLA due to its features. Fast forward, I needed a rear dash camera (purchased off amazon; Neideso 360 dash camera set) installed into my camper shell and this company refused stating that "I had to go back to the people that installed my security system to have them install a rear dash camera". That is a lie. He was upset that I didn't use his company to install my after factory security system. This behavior shows a lack of emotional intelligence and poor customer service. People have after factory devices installed by different companies all the time. The front dash camera was installed by me inside my truck but due to having a camper shell I wanted the rear camera placed into the campershell.

I was required to do a $95 inspection first, which I agreed to so they could diagnose any underlying issues. They determined it was just the battery. However, the final bill came to over $530! While I appreciate that they tested the alternator to ensure the charging system was working properly, and I understand labor costs vary, this pricing seemed excessive ($300 for battery). The same Interstate battery retails for $179 at Costco. Even accounting for overhead and profit, a $120+ markup on the battery plus $200 in labor for what should be 30-45 minutes of work felt steep. The work was completed and the battery is working fine, but I wish I had shopped around more and took the warning signs of the defensiveness of the shop owner when trying to get a cost estimate prior to agreeing to pay for the inspection. Also, it was surprising that a veteran owned business did not offer any military discount.

The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is for the lack of communication between staff and between staff to employee. I asked for a specific location for the push to start button and was told I would be called before they begin drilling any holes just to verify which was gonna be a huge plus. The only call I received was to say my car was ready which had me a bit worried. When the employee was showing me what he did I asked why I never received a call to verify the location before drilling he just told me he thought it would be a good spot so he did it. Then said if I wanted to move it there would now be empty holes in that spot which bugged me so I just kept it where he chose. Once leaving I noticed he even installed the wrong alarm. I asked for the viper alarm over the phone with a young lady, then a young man when I went to drop off the car, after I picked it up from the older gentleman I did not notice til I was driving off and looked at the box. Called and he made a long story about how it's the same alarm but different brand and said if I change it there would be holes still in my dash which would bother me since it's a car from the 90s and it's hard to get very clean parts.
