NO. Fast forward to today I call again surprisingly someone answered my call and told me I couldn't make an appointment because my account was marked inactive, I ask her why is it marked inactive she told me basically I wasn't a patient anymore, ok so when was someone going to tell me ? Someone from billing was going to call me back and explain before the office close, you think anyone called back yet ? NO, don't ge me wrong if I missed a few appointments and can't make another that's fine but just let me know before the tooth becomes a bigger problem, I will definitely be calling the Connecticut Dental Assication and the Better Business Bureau tomorrow extremely disappointed.

Anyway.....I waited 2 1/2 years but I finally called and got the appointment. This morning was the first visit and cleaning. They were so kind, fixed the painful denture I was left with at no extra cost and gave me a professional assessment of the damages. They were extensive, including an exposed nerve. Can you tell? Tend Dental got on my last nerve. The staff at Dental Center of Westport were great and very supportive. I will be back.

I was overdue for a cleaning and checkup because of COVID and made a call over to Dental Center of Westport. Luckily, they had a cancellation and I was able to come in same day! (I know this probably isn't the norm, but they were fantastic about scheduling.) Carolyn was my hygienist and Dr. Kogan was my dentist. Carolyn was judgement free and super friendly. She really spent time with me and focused on making sure I knew what I can and should do to keep my mouth healthy. She was phenomenal, gentle, and kind. I can't say enough great things about her. Dr. Kogan was also timely, helpful, and understanding. They both took the time to explain things to me in a way that made sense. Though not the most important, the parking is also super easy (which can sometimes be a pain in this area). I can't say enough good things about Dental Center of Westport!

It was originally done in 2020, and fell off for the first time in 2021. She told me that she was going to have to charge me to re-cement it. (I don't have insurance) I asked how much. After about 10 min of runaround with her & the billing specialist, I was told the charge would be $150! I told her that I would pay it because I have no choice, but that i thought it was ridiculous that I would have to pay that much money to glue a crown back on. (I had a previous crown on a different tooth that lasted me 15+ years without ever coming off!) At that point, she told me that she was not going to put it back on for me because "I don't trust her work"! So, after spending almost 2 hours there, I had to leave without getting the crown put on, at 3pm. She was aware that I was going to NC tomorrow and there's no way I would be able to get in with any other dentist this late in the day. And she actually looked really pleased with herself for refusing to do the work. It was honestly the most unprofessional experience I have ever had at any dental office. I hadn't been into the office for a long time, for personal reasons. She took several opportunities to point that out to me as well. As if that was the reason my crown (which to my understanding is permanent & should not be coming off multiple times) came off. I have a lot of dental issues. I have spent thousands of dollars at this office & have family members that have spent tens of thousands. I actually talked to Dr. V today about finally putting together a plan to get to the bottom of all my issues. And now I have to find another office. I really loved Dr. Wong, but he is there anymore. The rest of the staff in the office are AMAZING & SO KIND!! The office is beautiful, with all the newest technology. There are so many nice things I can say about the office in general. But after today, I will not be returning. The way that Dr. V handled the entire situation was extremely UNPROFESSIONAL & UNETHICAL. I now have to drive to NC without my fragile tooth unprotected and deal with it when I come back. The appointment seemed routine; they took X-rays, which I didn't expect to reveal anything alarming since I had seen my own dentist back in my home state less than two months prior for an exam and cleaning, as I don't reside permanently in CT. After reviewing the X-rays, Dr. Tartagni performed a hot and cold test on my tooth and abruptly informed me that I needed a root canal. I was surprised because I didn't feel much during the test and mentioned this to her. Looking back, it seemed like she was either guessing or pushing for unnecessary treatment. After being told I needed a root canal, I was taken to the financial office and given an exorbitant out-of-pocket estimate. The news was especially stressful since I am a college student and my dental coverage is in my home state. Ultimately, I sought a second opinion from my dentist back home, who promptly reassured me that my tooth was perfectly fine and that I had narrowly avoided being taken advantage of. Multiple X-rays confirmed this, and other dentists agreed that no treatment was necessary. This happened about a year ago, and today, my tooth feels completely normal and the strange sensation has disappeared. It even felt better a couple of days after the visit, despite the lady working in the financial office saying that the "pain would likely just get worse" if I didn't go through with the procedure. My dentist back in my home state confirmed it was just sensitivity, which I'm confident he was correct about. I believe Dr. Tartagni and her office should feel ashamed for causing such unnecessary stress. While I understand that medical professionals can make mistakes, the entire experience was incredibly frustrating. I often reflect on how fortunate I was to have questioned whether the procedure was truly necessary, especially considering the invasiveness of a root canal. This situation has left me wondering how many others may have been similarly affected by their practices. If faced with a recommendation for an invasive procedure by this office and you're unsure of its necessity, I strongly urge seeking a second opinion.
