I had two dental implants placed last August, but they fell out within days. I reached out to the office immediately, only to be informed that the doctor was on vacation in Italy and that I would have to wait until his return. When I requested to see another doctor, I was told I would have to wait two weeks for the original doctor to come back. Despite making several requests to be seen sooner, I was repeatedly told that I had to wait. During this two-week period, I suffered without care, and it felt like my well-being didn't matter to them. I endured over two weeks of discomfort, including bleeding and aching gums. Eventually, after escalating my concerns to their parent company, 42 North Dental, I received a refund four months later.

I poke to them over the phone and they were very accommodating and and got me an appointment for my cleaning that was due that was only a week away. The Hygienist Jada that did my cleaning was the best I'd ever had. She didn't make me go ouch once. I'm not sure that has ever happened. The Dentist came in and introduced himself and we talked about the possible need for a Crown on a tooth that the prev dentist told me was needed. He said that it doesn't need it right away and suggested I wait until my next cleaning and we can evaluate it again then. I did get a bill for $20 a couple weeks later though, but I happily paid it. I don't mind paying a few extra $ for a good dentist. My teeth and not having pain are far more important.

All four members of my household have had disappointing or outright terrible experiences here. What is most concerning is how many glowing reviews exist, because our experience has been the complete opposite. It genuinely makes me question how accurate those positive reviews are. My own situation has been ongoing and extremely frustrating. In December 2025, Dr. Scott Pearl told me I had "baby cavities" and recommended filling them to prevent progression. I had no pain at all before those fillings. Immediately afterward, I developed severe dental pain that has only worsened over time. I returned for a follow up and was told everything looked fine, despite the fact that I was in significant pain. Now I am dealing with daily, persistent discomfort. To make matters worse, I have since lost my dental insurance, so I am stuck suffering until my new coverage begins. This entire situation was created by a procedure that I now strongly believe was unnecessary. This was not an isolated incident. About a year earlier, my husband and I were both convinced to get crowns. This had never once been recommended by our previous dentist. Since those crowns were placed, I have continued to experience sensitivity in those teeth. Looking back, I deeply regret agreeing to those procedures. My son's experience was just as concerning. He had fillings done for "baby cavities" and developed severe pain afterward. One of his fillings even fell out. Although it was replaced, he continues to have discomfort. Beyond the clinical issues, the billing practices are equally troubling. We were repeatedly reassured that our insurance would cover these procedures, even though we could not find Pearl Dental in network. We specifically asked multiple times. Despite those assurances, I am still receiving bills from procedures done two years ago. This raises serious concerns about transparency and whether proper insurance verification is being done at all. At this point, I fully expect to receive additional bills for the December 2025 procedures as well. Yes, the staff is friendly. But that does not make up for what feels like unnecessary dental work, poor outcomes, and misleading information about insurance coverage. I would never recommend this practice to anyone. I regret ever going here. I am counting down the days until my new dental insurance starts so I can have this work properly evaluated and corrected.

My crowns were ill fitting and yet he charged me for every adjustment and every minute item he could think of. If something hurt, he did not ask if I needed more Novocain, he kept on drilling until had to hold up my hand and back away. The front teeth he made are unsightly and crooked. During my life, I've been exposed to a lot of radiation. I've had interventional fluoroscopy and CT…read morescans performed multiple times. Because of this, I try to limit non-essential radiation exposure. I went to Lumos to get my teeth cleaned. The dentist told me that I needed to get an x-ray first, which I declined. Then, she didn't ask why I declined, she didn't ask whether my family has a history of radiation-associated leukemias, she didn't ask whether I was on immunosuppressive medicines that could make me more vulnerable to radiation. The dentist didn't ask me anything. She rudely told me that I shouldn't come to Lumos. The entire process felt disrespectful and dehumanizing. I would recommend against coming here.
