The staff - from the front desk, to the billing office, and certainly to the Dentists could not be more amazing. Everyone at all levels is so professional and polite. It is very clear that the staff enjoy where they work and like what they do. Who looks forward and actually LIKES going to the dentist? Is it crazy to say that I actually do now just because of how awesome everyone is there?! I specifically HAVE to shout out my girl Aicha. I had the ABSOLUTE pleasure of meeting and speaking with her as she was temporarily covering in the Milford location last week but was thrilled that I got to see her at her primary location in West Haven when I went in for an emergency extraction yesterday. It was such a tough and painful day yesterday and when I walked in and saw her, I wanted to hug her (but didn't! haha). Each time she has made me feel SO comfortable. I really want to recognize what an asset she is. I do hope that she gets to read this (Hi Aicha!) and gets some type of recognition. My experience with this dentist was one of the worst in my life. Last year, I began feeling a…read morestrange sensation in one of my back molars. Concerned, I booked an emergency appointment (which was incredibly expensive) with Dr. Adrienne Tartagni the following day. The appointment seemed routine; they took X-rays, which I didn't expect to reveal anything alarming since I had seen my own dentist back in my home state less than two months prior for an exam and cleaning, as I don't reside permanently in CT. After reviewing the X-rays, Dr. Tartagni performed a hot and cold test on my tooth and abruptly informed me that I needed a root canal. I was surprised because I didn't feel much during the test and mentioned this to her. Looking back, it seemed like she was either guessing or pushing for unnecessary treatment. After being told I needed a root canal, I was taken to the financial office and given an exorbitant out-of-pocket estimate. The news was especially stressful since I am a college student and my dental coverage is in my home state. Ultimately, I sought a second opinion from my dentist back home, who promptly reassured me that my tooth was perfectly fine and that I had narrowly avoided being taken advantage of. Multiple X-rays confirmed this, and other dentists agreed that no treatment was necessary. This happened about a year ago, and today, my tooth feels completely normal and the strange sensation has disappeared. It even felt better a couple of days after the visit, despite the lady working in the financial office saying that the "pain would likely just get worse" if I didn't go through with the procedure. My dentist back in my home state confirmed it was just sensitivity, which I'm confident he was correct about. I believe Dr. Tartagni and her office should feel ashamed for causing such unnecessary stress. While I understand that medical professionals can make mistakes, the entire experience was incredibly frustrating. I often reflect on how fortunate I was to have questioned whether the procedure was truly necessary, especially considering the invasiveness of a root canal. This situation has left me wondering how many others may have been similarly affected by their practices. If faced with a recommendation for an invasive procedure by this office and you're unsure of its necessity, I strongly urge seeking a second opinion.

Everyone is so welcoming here and the staff go out of their way to make me feel comfortable. The front desk works hard to get any of my insurance questions answered (you know that whole insurance world can be confusing!) The dental hygienists that I have met are friendly, thorough and educational during my appointments. I have never had another office check my gum health and they make it a point to let me know at each cleaning if I have any areas of gingivitis and how I can improve my pockets. The doctors and the assistants here are all very professional and relatable and make an effort to get to know me at each visit. You can tell they are not out for your money and will only do work that is needed. She immediately came towards my teeth with the cold air tool, and I quickly said no because it causes intense pain on my recessed gum area. Even the assistant seemed shocked and said no to her. The dentist shook her head and acted inconvenienced by this. She asked why I grind my teeth so badly and I said, "I guess because I've realized that I have PTSD". She acted amused and said, "Oh, really? What do you have PTSD about?" The visit cost me $150. Complete waste of time and money. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
