FYI: I plan to copy and paste this review on every available platform for this group. I cannot say…read moreenough good things about my experience with the individuals at Shoreline Dental Care, both in West Haven AND in Milford. The staff - from the front desk, to the billing office, and certainly to the Dentists could not be more amazing. Everyone at all levels is so professional and polite. It is very clear that the staff enjoy where they work and like what they do. Who looks forward and actually LIKES going to the dentist? Is it crazy to say that I actually do now just because of how awesome everyone is there?! I specifically HAVE to shout out my girl Aicha. I had the ABSOLUTE pleasure of meeting and speaking with her as she was temporarily covering in the Milford location last week but was thrilled that I got to see her at her primary location in West Haven when I went in for an emergency extraction yesterday. It was such a tough and painful day yesterday and when I walked in and saw her, I wanted to hug her (but didn't! haha). Each time she has made me feel SO comfortable. I really want to recognize what an asset she is. I do hope that she gets to read this (Hi Aicha!) and gets some type of recognition. Because of her, and certainly many many other members of your staff, I have recommended Shoreline Dental to many people. As I said, I think most people don't "enjoy" going to the dentist but with groups like this, I'm just sorry I didn't discover them sooner. I also want to take time to say how unbelievably grateful I am for Dr. Joseph Tartagni was incredible. Yesterday was my first time (and hopefully my last!) having a tooth pulled and he made me feel so at ease. I can't thank him enough for not only seeing me so quickly but making it as pleasant as an experience as having a tooth pulled could be. Totally professional, efficient, and above all else - SO kind. His son, Dr. Jason Tartagni, I met with at the Milford location as well and can say all the same things. What an absolute top notch practice you all have. 500 stars! Thank you again! I will be back soon!

My experience with this dentist was one of the worst in my life. Last year, I began feeling a…read morestrange sensation in one of my back molars. Concerned, I booked an emergency appointment (which was incredibly expensive) with Dr. Adrienne Tartagni the following day. The appointment seemed routine; they took X-rays, which I didn't expect to reveal anything alarming since I had seen my own dentist back in my home state less than two months prior for an exam and cleaning, as I don't reside permanently in CT. After reviewing the X-rays, Dr. Tartagni performed a hot and cold test on my tooth and abruptly informed me that I needed a root canal. I was surprised because I didn't feel much during the test and mentioned this to her. Looking back, it seemed like she was either guessing or pushing for unnecessary treatment. After being told I needed a root canal, I was taken to the financial office and given an exorbitant out-of-pocket estimate. The news was especially stressful since I am a college student and my dental coverage is in my home state. Ultimately, I sought a second opinion from my dentist back home, who promptly reassured me that my tooth was perfectly fine and that I had narrowly avoided being taken advantage of. Multiple X-rays confirmed this, and other dentists agreed that no treatment was necessary. This happened about a year ago, and today, my tooth feels completely normal and the strange sensation has disappeared. It even felt better a couple of days after the visit, despite the lady working in the financial office saying that the "pain would likely just get worse" if I didn't go through with the procedure. My dentist back in my home state confirmed it was just sensitivity, which I'm confident he was correct about. I believe Dr. Tartagni and her office should feel ashamed for causing such unnecessary stress. While I understand that medical professionals can make mistakes, the entire experience was incredibly frustrating. I often reflect on how fortunate I was to have questioned whether the procedure was truly necessary, especially considering the invasiveness of a root canal. This situation has left me wondering how many others may have been similarly affected by their practices. If faced with a recommendation for an invasive procedure by this office and you're unsure of its necessity, I strongly urge seeking a second opinion.

Do NOT go to this dentist of you care about 1) your teeth 2) wasting hours of your day waiting…read moredespite having appointment. Reception and dentist assistants are nice, but the dentist ous the one calling the shots. They over book - and will let toy sit there waiting for HOURS leading you to believe you're "about to be seen"...... I had WORSE EXPERIENCE at this place. I just wanted a filling that had fallen out in very front of my mouth to be fixed and ended up (the first time) having to leave because i had been there for THREE HOURS and they didn't know when they would see me (the whole time in the back in a chair jyst sitting there)..... so i left bc i had a babysitter watching my baby. Tried to make appointment to come back - had to wait 3 1/2 weeks! (When i had to wait 3 weeks for that first one!!!!!) So when i came back second time for this one little filling, i made a point to ask if they Wye running behind schedule..... wad told they Wye a little but that they remembered me and would make sure u got seen quickly...... that didn't happen. After 2 hours (again, in a chair in back.... and again i had to get yet another babtsitter) the dentist started to show up, and iut wad lime the only thing she wad interested in was trying to sell me on CareCredit for veneers! I asked her to PLZ jyst drop the veneer idea, and that i JUST wanted my filing fixed as nicely as possible. By this time i had waited almost 6 weeks PLUS 6 hours in their office with out getting my one little filling fixed. I started crying bc i was so worked up and anxious (was also 5 mths pregnant at time- so that prolly had a lot to did with that) So the dental assistant calms new down & is talking super sweet to me and telling me not to worry, that shes about to fix my tooth and that she gets im stressed about the whole situation, when the dentist walks back in and tells me that i "made her uncomfortable bc i was upset" and that i would have "better luck to find another dentist ". I was APPALLED. i had BEEN coming to this place for the last year, and only had been conning back bc iut was only dentist i knew of that took my insurance (just moved here a year ago)! Un-fu*king- believable. I couldn't believe my ears. I had been polite and SUPER patient the whole time and then this ***** has the nerve to tell me to find anther dentist cuz im stressed about how much time I've wasted , that i have a baby asst home w sitter and cuz im slightly crying (kinda blubbering lol) cuz im pregnant?!?!?! So, yeah. THEN i yelled that the office was a joke and then stormed out...... crying so hard on way home (which is 4 towns away! )i had to pull off of highway to cry so i wouldn't kill myself or someone else...... I've NEVER been treated SO BADLY by ANY BUSINESS as I did at this place by that dentist. They don't even do a thorough job - the last year i had to keep coming back I for filings that they put in that had fallen pout, or for cavities that they never fixed before they ACTUALLY became a problem i.e. had to make appt a month or 2 after xray+checkup. Bc of pain in my mouth - iut should never be lime that. They do ABSOLUTELY NO PREVENTATIVE DENTISTRY AT WEST HAVEN SMILES DENTAL!!! DO NOT GO HERE! THERE ARE WAY BETTER PLACES THAT WILL TAKE YOUR INSURANCE!!!!!!!!!!!
