Super grateful that they didnt lock the door on us but also concerned that we were the only people in the restaurant that was supposed to close at 10:00 on a Friday night and it was only 8:45 and they were about to close. The place was dead and things were getting packed up all around us while we were trying to have a nice meal. Instead of unlimited chips we're now down to one basket and must pay for more. The food itself was great except for the soup which was lukewarm and returned. Had the fajitas. the boyfriend who really enjoyed his beef dish. Service was great, the mango margarita was not worth $15 (zero hint of alcohol but welcome to Utah). We came here on a cold and snowy Saturday afternoon after a day full of shopping at the outlets. We were seated right away which was nice. Our waitress, Fiorella, was an absolute gem. She was attentive, friendly, and helpful. Unfortunately, the service is where our good experience came to a screeching halt. I had the taco salad with chicken. The salad is not in a hard taco shell like most places. They basically put it on top of a tortilla with burnt edges. It was awful. The cilantro lime dressing had an unnecessary sweetness to it. The chicken was very dry. It was basically inedible. My husband had the fish tacos. He said the fish was dry. The beans and rice were plain and pretty flavorless. He said the mango salsa was pretty good. We shared a cup of chicken tortilla soup and we couldn't finish it. It was barely luke warm and the taste was off. We love chicken tortilla soup but this one really missed the mark. We probably wouldn't come back. We came in the day after Thanksgiving. Although the restaurant was mostly empty, the staff tried to squeeze all eight of us at a rather small table. We weren't able to fit seven chairs and a high chair there, and it took a couple times of stating this before we were moved to a slightly bigger table. After that, though, things went well. I had the seafood enchiladas, and they were delicious. Definitely would recommend for those who aren't normally a huge fan of Mexican food--the flavor profile leaned a little more Italian for the dish. I ordered the roasted chicken chimichanga. This was so good ! It comes with beans, rice & cheese inside but I opted out of the beans . The chicken is very flavorful. Went here recently over a weekend. We loved the chips & salsas. They had one green sauce & one red salsa. Both tasted soo fresh. The green salsa had some lime flavor that my boyfriend didn't love but I felt like I could literally drink this with a straw! It was so good!! My boyfriend was excited because they had breakfast burritos & so he ordered the steak breakfast burrito. He said it was super full of eggs, he ended up pulling some of them out & the portion was so large. He ended up only eating 1/2 of the breakfast burrito & not touching much of the side potatoes they offer with this dish. The side breakfast potatoes come with onions & mushrooms in them. I don't think he was aware of this & he isn't a big mushroom fan so he didn't love these. I tried these though & thought they had really good flavor. I ordered two cheese enchiladas with rice & refried beans. They offer refried or pinto beans which is nice to have an option. I also sub'd out the red enchilada sauce for green enchilada sauce. I thought they were pretty good, very cheesy! Staff was great & patient with our ordering since I feel like it took us a bit looking over the menu & then finding out they offered brunch on Sundays! The food looks great in the reviews. The staff was very nice and very polite and attentive. The restaurant was clean and well spaced. Outside dining available as well as tables and booths inside. I had the taco salad with barbacoa. You can choose basically any meat on top. My coworker had the chicken mole. We were very hungry after a long day of travelling and working. Even though the food looked very appetizing and was huge portions, we both felt the flavors were lacking. Was it edible? Yes. Was it decent? Yeah. The chips were fresh and light and the two salsas were tasty. But I think over all, the heat was missing from the flavors of both our dishes. Perhaps that's just what locals like , which I respect. For lunch today, I sat at the bar. I like the long bar in the restaurant. It's also cool how the dining area wraps around in a L-shape. And I'd look forward to eating on their patio in warm weather. I was happy I got the chance to order two different fish tacos as my dish, for a reasonable price. I love the option to get variety on my plate. It was the 'choose two' option under seafood tacos. I ordered a pecan-encrusted salmon taco and a mahi mahi taco with mango salsa. They were delish. Both the salmon and the mahi mahi were cooked to perfection. The tacos were definitely fantastic fuel and I felt great after eating them. The server changed the channel on a tv to tennis for me. The staff there had good chemistry, and it was nice to be around. TERRIBLE! Went in as a party of 7, got seated right away. The water just tasted like gross tap water, and it took a while to get our food. My sisters chicken on her taco salad looked disgusting - it was BOILED - not like normal chicken at Mexican restaurants and it was cold. I got chicken tacos and it was also cold. The tortillas were extremely stale. They just tasted terrible. My sisters margarita was also bad - they used the wrong type of alcohol and was just overbearing. Our waitress got an order wrong and fixed it which is nice but the rice was still terrible. It looked like they just threw in a can of corn and did nothing with it. It's weird bc the first time I went here last year I didn't think much of it. But last week it was awesome! I had the house margarita which was delicious. Not too sweet and not too sour. I like to stop here when I'm in Park City. The food has always been really good and the service has been friendly and very efficient. I was able to stop today and sat at the bar since it was just me. I was placed right by the kitchen window. They were busy and the staff was working so hard. I unfortunately caught an interaction with the head chef and a waitress. She had asked him about something on the menu and he started off just berating her and trying to obviously feel superior. After a few minutes of listening to this I spoke up and suggested he talk to her privately and in a more professional manner. He did stop. I spoke to the manager and he was so professional and kind. He agreed that shouldn't have happened and he apologized. I hope the head chef realizes that his actions do not make a cohesive work environment and works on himself. read more

Disappointing. I love Mexican food and with a 4-star rating, I had high hopes. The free chips and salsa was a great start. The green salsa was delicious but the red was only ok. For an appetizer we ordered the Queso Fundido. It's usually one of my favorite dishes and hard to get wrong. Unfortunately, they managed to get it wrong. The cheese was not melted and the sauce was too sweet for my liking. For my entree, I got the steak and chicken fajitas. The steak was pretty good but the chicken was largely flavorless and tough. We love to go eat at Loco Lizard when we are in Park City! The staff are super friendly and the restaurant has a fun vibe. I always get fajitas or enchiladas when I visit. This visit my husband and I split carnitas fajitas and they were delicious! They make their own tortillas in house and they are so yummy! I am obsessed with friend ice cream and I will usually order it at Mexican restaurants. The fried ice cream was huge and coated with a cornflake and coconut mixture. There was also whipped cream, chocolate and raspberry sauce served with the fried ice cream. The raspberry sauce was amazing with the fried ice cream and it probably was the best fried ice cream I've ever had! Don't skip their yummy friend ice cream for dessert! read more

An interesting and fun little cantina in the Kimball Junction area of greater Park City. Plenty of parking and a nice big bar to accommodate your need for libations. The carnitas street tacos I ordered were succulent and marinated heavily. Juicy and rich flavors. Served with a large helping of frijoles charros, fried rice, and some vegetable garnish. You get a bucket (yes, a metal pail) full of tortilla chips to use with house-made green and red salsas (the red was my favorite, with smoked peppers in it). Tip: If you don't like onions (I don't), be aware that they come on the tacos but aren't mentioned in the ingredients on the menu. It won't kill you to manually remove them but it's a cleaner delivery if they're already off. read more

My husband could not stop raving about how flavorful his meal was, (he got the wagyu beef barbacoa birria). We consider the portions here big, because my husband's got a big appetite and wasn't able to finish his plate! It was a nice treat to have the head chef bring our plates out to us (and he brought other customers their meals as well). Amazing! We are salsa and fajita snobs. We are nice about it but really completely spoiled. We had a place in Florida we went to 1-2 times a week for years. It took us a long time to even find that place. We bounced into Loco last night. Boom... we found a new place to go each week. We had the three salsa's and fresh chips. Mix the jalapeño with the verde and red for a spicy kick! Then the queso. Then the steak fajitas. The steak was amazing and cooked perfectly med rare. Our server "marciel" was amazing too. My kids ordered enchiladas, hubby ordered fajitas enchiladas and I had the chicken mole & a margarita . We enjoyed the chips and salsa. They serve a green chili salsa that was not hot at all. It was very surprising and refreshing. Margaritas was on point. The kids enjoyed their meals. Hubby was ok with his as there was BBQ sauce on the enchiladas instead of regular red sauce. Gone down hill. Haven't been there in a few years. Stopped in to grab some lunch. Seated right away as it was lunch time but not busy. Asked about the specials as I referred to their sign that said ask about our daily specials. The waitress stated, "oh we didn't have time to make specials today so there are no specials". I ordered something else from that menu. The waitress appeared to be in a bad mood. She slammed down our drinks on the table. Leaned over the entire table and our food to grab another glass to refill a drink. At one point she came back over to our table and said, "I will leave you alone while getting with her hands up in the air": we both sat there looking at each other wondering should we ask for another waitress or the manager. I've never had a waitress act so immature or unprofessional. Very awkward and unpleasant. I ordered chicken tacos and the chicken seemed boiled. I noticed on another review their chicken was also boiled. Very terrible I didn't finish it. The red salsa was terrible the worst. Tasted like tomato paste. When it came time for the check then the waitress seemed to make last feeble attempts to be pleasant. Still gave a tip because thought maybe the waitress was having a bad day. Ether way, she is in the service industry and represented Loco Lizard brand. She failed to provide good customer service. She demonstrated a poor attitude until the check came. Then she made some last attempts to be somewhat pleasant. Food was mediocre. The chicken tasted boiled and rubbery. The red salsa was flat out disgusting tomato paste. Worst of all was aside from the food was the nasty attitude from the waitress unpleasant until the check arrived. Normally who behaviorshojdl have been called out to a manger attention. I figured maybe it wasn't worth the hassle. Maybe after she said "I will just leave you alone". Would have been the moment to request the manager. Still left wondering what prompted this attitude. I won't recommend this place to anyone and I certainly won't be returning wasting my money there. Terrible food and horrible attitude bad combination. Who boils chicken? Stopped in on a beautiful Sunday afternoon- the patio is fully fenced and covered with great breeze. Service was fast and friendly. They serve 2 different salsas with the appetizer chips-- so good!!! I love Loco Lizard. It's has been a long time local favorite. I have been coming here forever and have always been very pleased. Service is great, prices are as to be expected for non-fast food Park City restaurants. Some of my favorites are the Chili Verde platter, Tres Maria's Burrito, a combo plate with an enchilada and tamale, and my new favorite as of today the chili verde enchiladas. So yummy. I got it with the refried beans on the side but their black beans are really yummy too. Live the chips and salsa, I prefer the red but my wife likes the green salsa. Luckily they bring out both! Also try the guacamole , it's a family fav. It's always a fun atmosphere, dinner can get super busy, my favorite is lunch time. Their patio seating is really nice when weather permits. Be sure to say hi to the "Chip Man" Raul. He's about as good as people come, super friendly all the time. Jose is up there too. Throughout the years some faces have changed but Raul, Cesar and Jose are always there. It's nice to have that local feel that when you come into the restaurant the employees remember you and you them. Especially in this industry and times when staffing is so difficult and turnover is always super hi. Also say hi to owner Steve, he too is about as good as people can get.
