While visiting Park City we checked out the first farmer's market of the summer as the lifts and slide were closed. Planning a hike after lunch, we stopped in Baja Cantina right near the lift as the food smelled good and not much else was open around it. The restaurant has a fun atmosphere inside...lots of wall decorations, different rooms with different looks, good Hispanic motif. Our server was Grey and she took great care of us, being patient and helpful with questions. My wife ordered a plate of chicken flautas, my boys got a chicken and a shrimp fajitas, and I got a taco plate w/ rice and beans. The food was average...a tad on the bland side. Their prices were a tad high for the quality of the food, but not unreasonable given their location in a tourist area. Dropped in on a snow-less Tuesday (and my travel day) for a quick bite just to tide me over until Supper. Sat at the bar area and enjoyed chips and salsa before kindly server Paul brought me a Park City quesadilla which hit the spot. Don't love the salsa as I prefer Verde to chunky Red. We did not have a good experience here. It wasn't busy when we came in. We were seated rather quickly, but aside from that, the service was mediocre. For example, we ordered margaritas which were absolutely terrible. The drinks tasted like bad sour mix and nothing else. I nicely told the waitress that we'd like to order a different drink (I only asked about one because the rest of us decided to choke it down), and the waitresses response was, "that's what you ordered." We explained that we ordered a margarita, but this particular margarita didn't taste like it was mixed properly, and she replied again with "that's what you ordered." So just know, even if the food or drinks come out terribly, they will blame you. The customer isn't always right, but if the food or drink is straight up terrible (and expensive), I would expect they would try to fix it without a side of attitude. I'm giving 3 stars only because the food was decent, and the other interactions we had were fine. read more

We used to eat here years ago and it was always consistent. Unfortunately it has gone way down hill. The salsa was terrible like canned tomato sauce. The seafood enchilada was terrible.. the rice was dry. The birria tacos were good but the tortillas were a bit soggy instead of a nice cheese grill. You definitely need to up your food game. Chips & Salsa was Guac Main dishes we tried 3 different entrees and all of them were super underwhelming. Service we got sat down and didnt have a waiter some to our table. After 25 min I had to go ask for a waiter. They ended bringing the wrong plate of food after all that waiting. Then didn't get the check for another 30 minutes after we finished eating. Margaritas I honestly don't know how this place is in business. Don't go here unless you like really below average Mexican food with terrible service. read more

I hate giving a bad review, but I want for people vacationing in Park City to know that our food experience was not good at all. I ordered the Santa Fe enchiladas and my husband ordered the single enchilada plate on the back of the menu - they were both the same thing and both were just as bad. The only difference that we could tell was the quantity: two enchiladas vs one, and the Santa Fe had spinach. The Santa Fe enchiladas were cold inside and the edges of the tortillas were hard like if they had been sitting out for hours, maybe days. The rice had zero flavor and it had individual pieces of rice that were rock hard - maybe not cooked at all or thoroughly. The beans were covered over a mound of melted cheese - once uncovered, you could tell that they were from a can. The flavor was ok. They made my meal, "gluten-free;" however, I have to wonder if it is truly gluten-free because I started to feel the effects of gluten almost immediately. I meant to ask them if they purchase their cheese already grated of if they grate it themselves as grated cheese has an ingredient that is added to avoid the cheese from sticking to itself and that contains gluten. I'm finding out that not all establishments know that tid bit. I ordered a Margarita - They forgot the tequila or didn't add the recommended amount - I should know better, I am, after all, in Utah. They still charged me. I didn't say anything because I should have known better. The only pleasant experience was our waitress, Darrel. She was sweet, knowledgeable, and on top of things and even came out to swat a bee away that was buzzing around my food. I guess that bees like their food, not me. Granted, I am born of two Mexican parents and they taught me to cook genuine Mexican food - if that's you too, you won't like the food here. If you are not, then you may just like this place. Absolutely awful experience. Do not recommend! I ordered the Enchiladas Rancheros with a side of beans instead of rice. The beans were refrigerator cold. I tried my enchiladas and the beans in those too were cold. They took my order back to bake it, and the side of beans were warm but by the time I got half way into my enchilada I had cold beans again. My oldest daughter ordered the First Time Burrito and she too complained the beans were not warm enough. My husband ordered the Double Jack and had no issues. In fact he ate up his happily while my oldest & I waited for our meals to be reheated. He even was completely done before they brought ours back out it took that long! My youngest ordered the kids chicken strips and fries, and I tried both and they were fairly decent. The chips nor the salsa are fresh or good. The Cadillac margarita was meh. The prickly pear margarita was good. IMO: the best part was the tiniest bit of guacamole I had on my dish. The place was busy but I don't know how they stay in business with mediocre tasteless food. Amazing cuisine and always a must go to when we are in PC! We have been visiting Baja for over a decade and love the Prospector. Fresh and made to perfection. Delicious beans, rice and cheese. Nice accent of greens. They have amazing mocktails and full of flavor and sugar. Good salsa! It includes chunky tomatoes. Plenty of seating. This last visit our waiter was being trained and missed our section for orders. We waited 1/2 an hour to place an order. Once I let someone know he was there quickly and the rest of the visit was smooth. read more

The service was the best we've had while visiting Park City. I don't understand the other reviews. The server was very attentive and made sure we were happy. The drinks were on point. Very good. The food was amazing. I don't usually eat fajitas but she made sure the order was right. This is one of the best options to eat on Park City mountain. Definitely check it out if you're visiting. The bus is free and there appears to be good parking Options. I love Park city and good food and Drinks are very crucial to a good vacay. We came to Park City for Christmas. While there was not a lot of snow there was a fantastic Mexican restaurant! The drinks and food at Baja were wonderful. Lucas, the bar tender was fantastic, and our Christmas was made all the more special by the food and people at this place. While many places were closed, this place was inviting, servers were fantastic and food was great. We rarely write reviews but this place we definitely recommend. I called in a to go order for chicken and beef fajitas and got the notification that my order was ready. We were staying at the Marriott Mountainside so I took off in the snow to pick them up. When I arrived the hostess was on the phone taking a to go order that took forever. Another couple came in and were waiting to be seated so I told the hostess I was there to pick up my order and to go ahead and seat them first. At this point approximately 15 minutes had passed and I'm still waiting for the order I was told was ready. Finally a person approached me and asked if I wanted chips? I ordered two orders of queso so it's a good thing I said yes because otherwise I would have gotten back to our room with queso and no chips. Wouldn't you think they would be included? I finally got my order and headed back to our room where two hungry skiers were waiting. We uncovered the foil pans and were pleasantly surprised. The fajita meat was cooked well and the accompaniments were delicious. This was our 22nd year at Marriott Mountainside and we plan on making Baja Cantina a tradition. read more

Salsa chunky and chips recently fried. The five dollar margarita low price for a reason-mild and almost no alcohol. I would go for a named brand. Enchilada Santa Fe were great, lots of cheese, rice was soft and spicy, plenty of cilantro. Not too spicy. Queso Barrios, tacos were a little overcooked, the slaw was excellent. There was plenty of cilantro, the meat was also a little bit overcooked. Give them a four. Five for the enchiladas. Overall, a 4: yes, I would go back, yes, I would recommend it. read more

However, while we were waiting for our food one of the workers was sweeping, the table across from us had some leftover food that may have fallen from the plates so he used the broom he was sweeping the floor to clean the table... it made us want to get up and walk out. I ordered the TJ's Taxi. It was actually pretty good. The Cadillac margarita was not my favorite but it was not horrible. It was dead when I arrived around 7:45 pm, but the patio filled up.
