However, since I could not have it taken until 365 days had passed and my previous mammogram had been on Dec. 28 2012, I could not get another one scheduled until early January 2014. My insurance required a note from Dr. McCoy stating it was medically OK for me to get it in 2014. She refused and said I should have found a way to get the mammogram on Dec. 29, 30 or 31st. I lost my discount because of her refusal. A doctor that is that inflexible is not someone I want to go to about medical issues. Everything in medicine is not black or white. I would be afraid she would be more worried about being right than doing the right thing.

I was charged $600 at the time of my initial visit and was told that a future (second) visit was included... $300 for the first and $300 for the next visit. At the time I thought that practice was odd but I didn't complain, expecting to return at a later date. After several cancellations due to personal conflicts and after researching alternative practices and processes, I decided to go in a different (and what I believe is a better direction) to address my health concerns. When I called to request a credit, I was put on hold, the call dropped, I called back and was transferred to another employee only to find out that there was a different understanding of the credit to be provided. After about an hour, I received a callback from Shane the Business Manager about my request. He indicated that I would only be receiving a $200 credit, not $300 as I expected. After much discussion, he indicated that the $200 credit was final and he would issue a check. I told him I did not agree with this decision and explained that I would be providing a review/ complaint about this business practice. I recommended that the staff should explain this business practice with patients before receiving care so this practice it is clearly understood.
