I subtracted a star because initially we couldn't find anyone to help us. It was a Friday afternoon a little after 3 & no sales associate to be found. We wondered both sides of the store and dressing room to find no one. Eventually as I was preparing to call the store on my cell phone the gentlemen who helped us appeared. The other thing was when I was explaining to him why the coat was being returned he asked if the coat had been burnt. Idk if he was joking or that was his dry sense of humor, however he redeemed himself as the conversation progressed. I work retail so I know people try to get over but this was clearly a case of defective merchandise.

Looking up at the hundreds of white butterflies suspended from the ceiling while on the escalators was a welcoming sight. Women's shoes still took up a good portion of the second floor, and now they have a new (well, to me) mall entrance not too far from this section where there is also a La Colombe coffee area. Last time I was here, instead of walking into the mall from this new entrance, you would be walking to the old parking garage, while passing the smaller children's area on one side, and intimate apparel on the other. A lovely woman named Toni used to work in the latter section. What hit me the most was the third floor; passing the home section going towards the restrooms, there used to be a customer service counter directly to the left. Now this area is completely gone; an open space now stands and the smaller rooms that were in the back could have been personal shopping salons, but all of them were empty when I took a quick look. It was weird seeing it in this state now when it used to be quite busy in the mornings until early evening. Most people would come to pay their bills (if they bothered to at all, ha) but since most of this is now conducted online/via the app, I guess there was no need for this anymore. And yes, I used to work here. As much as I wanted to look for familiar faces, this would have taken up a lot of time and a little part of me didn't want to; for there were some really good memories here and I wanted them to remain that way. Interestingly, a few names mentioned in the reviews here in somewhat recent years do ring a bell, and I admit I did see one face while on the top floor, but we didn't really talk while I was here then, so I didn't see the point of starting now. Otherwise, it appears as though NM is still the go-to for luxury department store shopping in the King of Prussia mall.

The store is nicely organized with plenty of options. There were a ton of clearance racks which was cool to browse thru. The staff didn't ask me if I needed help. I highly doubt I would ever wear a branded " sports illustrated " product, actually I can say I would never ever wear a branded sports illustrated product. Just visited the store this morning to make a quick purchase. The two other girls at the register are in the background chiming in their two cents for everyone to hear. Saying the woman on the phone "always drives us freaking crazy. She's a nut job" Myself and a few other people are in line baffled at the spectacle they are making. After rudely hanging up with the customer on the phone the manager turns around and starts discussing it with the people in line as well as whoever is on the register. All of us in line were uncomfortable and disgusted with their conduct. As the store leader, the manager did nothing to contain the issue that was happening rather she continued to discuss everything openly with the younger employees and customers.

All of which were on clearance which was the icing on the cake. I ended up walking out with three items, one for the festival and two others just for fun. But the piece de resistance -- my reason for going -- is the sales room. 50% off already reduced prices. Yesterday I snagged a butter-soft leather dress originally priced at $328, for $89! If you go this time of year, know: ** The check-out line in Anthropologie is insane. I was there so long, I lost track of the time. ** Guard against pick-pockets and watch your purse. A woman ahead of me ran out, realizing her wallet was gone. ** Parking is crazy. The mall is huge with spaces hard to find. (After going into the Container Store which abuts the mall we walked over, never moving the car.) I like this particular branch of Anthropologie. Probably because S and I are generally successful, my daughter more so than me. (I've clearly aged out of their target market.) Anthropologie's location in King of Prussia mall is good, with Free People next door and Urban Outfitters across the way. I am petite and they have a large petite section. Also, they tend to have clothes in stock as well. 1 star for staff. Almost everyone I've encountered in this store is incredibly rude. The manager is the worst. It can be difficult to get staff members to help you and when they do they seem bothered about it. I have had a few pleasant staff members ... but unfortunately they do not seem to be the norm. I try and shop at Ann Taylor in Suburban Square as much as I can. But, often end up at KOP when Suburban Square doesn't have a style in stock.
