Dr. Steak and I decided to check this store out after a lovely dinner at Outback Steakhouse next door. This is a large, open space, with shoes stacked on top of rectangular boxes, very similar in layout to a DSW. The difference? Clearly more budget-friendly signage, lighting and, most importantly, pricing. The store offers a wide variety of shoe types and styles, and has a very good little kids' section - something DSW does not offer. Their 'big kid' selection when we were there was not as solid, however it offered some decent choices. In both Men's and Women's shoes they offered everything from dress shoes to sandals to sneakers. I saw Women's sizes up to 12, though the selections in 11 and 12 were slimmer. Name brands - Nike, NB, Saucony, Chinese Laundry, Uggs and Bear Claw (and other "fugg" brands). Columbia, Dockers, Merrill, Timbaland. The best part was the pricing. Regular pricing easily 30-40% off retail, even beating online by a strong margin. Their clearance, even better. We were able to score a pair of Columbia hiking boots and a pair of Docker's loafers, combined $104. Boots alone best price online (thank you Red Laser) were $94.99. They seem to operate on a similar model to John's Sneaks - quality items, last season's models, very discounted. There are so many 'seasons' anymore in shoes it's not like people notice you don't have the 'latest' and they are excellent quality shoes for significantly less. For those who like quality shoes, like bargains and don't mind a shopping environment that's less 'styled' than the chains, this is your place. Have fun.

I was told two things at the store; one was to request a prepaid label (found out Kohls does NOT provide prepaid labels) and the second was that Kohls online is a different entity from the store. I came home and called customer service. After spending a total of 21 minutes on the phone with a rep we demanded to speak to a manager who said I should ship the items back. I took the items to my local shipper to return and now I'm out $15.50 ($13.00 for shipping and $2.50 for packaging). I will never shop at Kohls again

Which I think is super kind and welcoming. She knows what she has in the store so you can just say "hey do you have any body suits?" She will let you know yes or no and if she does she'll tell ya where to look so you don't have to waste your time if you're literally in there looking for a specific item. Also, pricing is dirt cheap makes me feel like I am thefting from the place when I check out! I was derelict in my Yelping of this institution for far too long. I was here seeking out Amish cottage cheese which I haven't been able to get at the Trenton farmers market for many years. I knew it would be located in the Amish wing but I needed to walk the rest of the building too. I entered that section to find crowds of people everywhere. To view the prepared hot foods would have required standing in a long line just to eventually get close enough to peek at the cases. I found the cottage cheese prepackaged and decided to walk around the rest of the place before returning to make a few purchases. There were so many temptations in the Amish part, pretzels, prepared salad items, donuts, baked goods in general and of course the meats. The rest of Columbus has treasures to be found as well, depending on your outlook. Discount over the counter drugs, health and beauty,craft soda and pickles, clothes of all kinds, shoes, housewares. I could probably go on. Really something for everyone. My stroll took me past a chicken shop that once I caught the smell of its fried goods, I knew I'd be trying on my way back. At the far end where other food stalls are I saw a taqueria that I plan on trying next trip. With a bag full of fried goodness I was no longer concerned about the Amish foods. I grabbed the cottage cheese and walked out with just a bit of regret that I didn't snag a donut or a dozen. I popped into the produce building just to see what was there. Nice looking veggies but most were sold in bulk. Towards the end of this building is a seafood market that I've heard good things about. Now I have more reasons to return. 4.5 stars !

With that said, I'll likely return because I'm a fan of two other businesses in this strip mall! Plus, like any antique mall, it's hit or miss with what's on the floor.

I have email to follow up several times in still have not heard from anyone. On Friday I reached out to Christy at the corporate offices and left a voicemail. She never called back either. Today I tried to get in contact with Mr. Woody (Steve) Woodward the CEO. Let's hope someone responds soon.

Again, this isn't $5-10, this was almost $200. They researched and said it would be refunded in 7-10 (that's their favorite numbers) days. No expediting, no we will fedex it to you because we F'd up and would like to keep your business, nope... We will send it snail mail. 2 weeks later it's still not here. Oh, when I asked about them doing something to compensate for their mistake they sent me a 25% off coupon that can't be used on 90% of stuff in the store. Customer service for these clowns must be run by Mrs. Lippy's 3rd Grade History class. Why do we have to do so much legwork to get you to fix something you totally screwed up?? Unless you hate yourself, don't shop here.

And it's not filled with junk either. Great items to put away for next season! The customer service is top notch. Greetings immediately when you walk in the door and calls when they get new merch or when they're having a sale! I can't figure how anyone can stand to be inside the place for more than a few minutes. It's atrocious. As for the staff, there were 2 older ladies greeting guests and a young lady at the register. When the older ladies asked if they could help me find something, I mentioned it was my first time stopping in and we'd just had lunch across the street, so I'm just browsing. The dark haired lady asked what we had and if we liked it. I said we'd been going weekly for the last 4-5 weeks and everything has been excellent. The lighter haired lady interjected (I didn't get to tell the other lady what we ate), saying she'd been there when they first opened (a year or so ago?). I asked if she liked it and she got quite agitated and said "NO!" I asked "Why? What did you have?" She went off on a tirade about how she "asked for a steak sandwich and it didn't come with sauce!" I asked "Sauce?" She continued "yes! I've NEVER seen a steak sandwich without SAUCE! I asked 'what am I supposed to put on it, then?!' And they told me ketchup! I wanted SAUCE! They told me they didn't have that!" She kept repeating that she'd never seen a steak sandwich without sauce. I told her "Well, they're not a pizza shop, so if they don't make things with sauce, they wouldn't have it and, also, that would be called a pizza steak -- a regular steak sandwich does not come with sauce." I made sure to repeat that we'd gone there every week lately and everything we've had has been excellent. She then claimed they charged her $2.50 for water and didn't believe me that I got ice water served in a large cup for free. Hoo boy! This lady is a piece of work. BTW, I don't know what the menu looked like when the place first opened but, in case she's reading this, they DO have a pizza steak on the menu now. I should have told her that, by HER logic, people should leave her a bad review bc she doesn't sell, say... Levi's and they wanted Levi's! Such a ridiculous reason to tell people you didn't like a place! Just like saying you didn't like a restaurant bc you wanted something they do not serve! But yeah... I would give her ZERO STARS if that was an option. Because her store reeks terribly and her attitude leaves a lot to be desired! Prices are ridiculous, too. Oy.
