I should have come here before co-signing on a lease for my student. The whole "preference" thing is BS! We have confirmation in a text that my student is rooming with specific people and now they apartments are trying to change those people. I do not care if I have to drive the 3 1/2 hours to talk to the manager in person I will. This is absurd! How can they designate who my student will live with??? They are not a dorm! I recommend looking at any of the unfurnished apartments around town instead of lofts. It is way overpriced and you can find a bigger place for cheaper elsewhere. Also the place is run by college students that don't know anything. On top of that, when I moved in my apartment was filthy (I didn't do a lease takeover) it took hours to clean my apartment the day I moved in. They pushed back my move in date to "make sure everything is perfect" and my carpets were covered in dog hair and my toilet looked like it had never been cleaned once (it was black). Our dryer vent was not attached to the wall and we were unaware for at least two weeks. Walls are extremely thin and I could hear dogs barking and crying all the time even in rooms I didn't share a wall with. Pool parties are out of control and go on for all hours of the night (try not to get premium view). People let their dogs run around off leash and it has caused issues. There is a horrible smell in the halls and stairs because people let their dogs use the bathroom in the halls. There are also multiple rooms that have a horrible weed smell coming from them and cops do nothing about it. Location is not safe, there has been shootings in front of and behind the complex. Old student maintenance guy set my water heater to a temperature that "can cause 3rd degree burns within 2 seconds" because he failed to read the warning label. The new maintenance man Shannon is the best thing to happen to this place. He actually takes pride in his work and the complex. read more

In addition, I'm referring to the wasp issue on the 3rd floor of the north side of the complex. We've called the police on the underage drinkers but I have no idea what happened after that. You've turned a def ear again and again, and I won't change my review. You take advantage of your renters and do little in the way of actual management. My daughter lived there for a year. She is an introvert and their roommate matching system put her in with a girl who threw parties all the time. We received absolutely no help from the management with the underage drinking at those parties and they turned a complete def ear. Oh, they offered to help her look for a roommate after she paid some ridiculous fee to terminate the lease but never did anything. In addition, the place is very poorly constructed, has horrible problems with insects, and generally is no better than a dorm. There are far better options for college studentselsewhere in town than the Lofts. read more

This apartment complex does not respect its tenants. I lived here for two and a half years, never caused any trouble, always paid my rent on time, and left my apartment immaculately clean. In return, I was sent a nearly $1,200 invoice requesting payment for the "damages" to my apartment. These "damages" were things like a minor black smudges on the wall or tiny holes in the underside of the couch where the cushion rubbed against the metal frame, both problems I had no control over as the furniture in the apartment was part of the unit and therefore had been used by who knows how many tenants. The couch definitely does not require a full replacement. I have included some of the pictures they sent me as evidence of the "damage". Regardless of this final insult, living there wasn't a great experience. They consistently come into the units with no prior notice, which is ridiculous and unacceptable in my opinion. When they did give notice, it was often the day before or sometimes even the day of. Their reasons for coming in were not always explained to tenants. The maintenance crew are nice guys, but they are not the most professional. I once came home after being out of town for a week to an unlocked front door (I lived by myself in a one-bedroom unit) and all the lights on in the kitchen/living room. Needless to say this made me feel pretty unsafe. My particular unit was on the ground floor, and two years in a row I experienced an awful termite infestation. When I called the front office to let them know, they said they could send an exterminator if I wanted, but really they were just "flying ants". I said they definitely weren't flying ants and I needed the exterminator to come ASAP because they were pouring in through the gaps in my window, so he came the next day and confirmed that the entire building had termite problems. I could go on about the many smaller annoying things that happened. Maybe I expected too much from a college town apartment complex, but when I am paying $800 a month for rent in East Texas I thought it would a little nicer of a living experience. read more

I do not recommend anyone living here. This apartment complex sees you as a dollar sign rather than a person. There was a snow storm when I lived there and water leaked from my roof and into my room when the snow melted. This happened to my 3 other roommates. The storm ended about a week ago and lofts put dehumidifiers and fans in our rooms for what they say will be about 4 days. These dehumidifiers and fans are so loud that you have to yell to talk, and they vibrate the room so you can't sleep at all. The room is also 85+ degrees (it's an unlivable space). So what does Lofts do to make us feel like we want to live there? They say sorry and tell us that if we remove anything it's a $300 fine. Lofts expects 4 people to live in a living room for a week. No rent discount for not being able to live there. No hotel room. No nothing. This place makes hundreds of thousands of dollars monthly but can't provide us with some compensation for not being able to live at our apartment. Also, there is always poop and pee in the hallways and stairwells. Don't live here, it's not worth your money or sanity. read more

After living here for about two years, I would be extremely hesitant to recommend Lofts at Nacogdoches to anyone. I lived in a four-bedroom on the first floor from August 2017 to July 2019. In October 2017, my roommates and I awoke to find that our apartment had almost been broken into. Our door frame was nearly cracked in half and the top of the door was noticeably dented in. It's a miracle that whoever was at the door that night - whether it be a drunk, mistaken college student or someone with intent - didn't get in. Management was apologetic and I believe that maintenance did all they could at the time, but the door frame was never completely restored. We lived with a flimsy front door that frequently had trouble locking up until we moved out. Being on the first floor, this fact always left me with an uneasy feeling. In the grand scheme of things, living at Lofts does have some benefits... It's close to campus, the amenities are nice and, overall, the apartments themselves are comfortable. The maintenance team is incredible. They responded to every work order I submitted (which was more than I'd like to admit) and always fixed them quickly and respectfully. Maintenance, on the other hand, isn't the worst but is definitely not the best. There were numerous occasions where my roommates and I experienced them walking into our apartment uninvited, losing checks, ignoring rules they implemented (i.e., the pool area; which was often closed due to an influx of guests) and so on. In short, the line of communication between tenant and management isn't great. In short, the cons that surround Lofts largely outweigh any pros. Upon move out, I was charged with a $370 statement that covered supposed damages that were "found" in the apartment. While I'll admit that I did expect some cost for minor touch-ups, one at this level completely took me by surprise (especially being a recent college grad who is facing impending student loan payments, among other things). If left unpaid, Lofts threatens to turn you into a collections agency -- yet, they refuse to reply to attempts to communicate about said charges. I really believe that Lofts enjoys scamming its residents. And for an apartment complex that is supposed to be geared towards college students, this fact is extremely disheartening. My advice to anyone looking into off-campus living: save yourself the frustration and the money, and DON'T live at Lofts. You're better off finding a house in the area to rent. read more

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT LIVE HERE. I lived here for 2 years (in two different units) First unit was a 4 bedroom apartment. This unit was infested with roaches when I moved in. Toilets didn't work. Dryer didn't work. I have a dog and I was told if I have food out (talking about dog food) that I should expect roaches in my apartment. Apartment number 2 - a two bedroom I move in (into a unit where a girl had been living there for 4+ years) and there is MOLD IN THE DISH WASHER AND THE FREEZER. There was a hole in the top of the microwave inside of it (turns out someone decided to microwave a yeti) Everything DIRTY. When I move out of this unit - MIND YOU I CLEANED MY ROOM AND DIDNT TOUCH THE COMMON AREA (which was ALWAYS messy due to the sloppy roommate) I get charged.. out of all things... AN OVEN CLEANING FEE. FOR AN OVEN THAT PROBABLY HADNT BEEN CLEANED IN 4+ YEARS. Long before I came along. This company will charge you for the tiniest little hair thin scratch of paint. They lose packages in the office easily AND even rejected accepting one of my packages (which if I recall was makeup) This apartment complex is a JOKE and a waste of time and money. read more

I was a resident of the Lofts Nacogdoches for 2 years (August 2020 - July 2022). The first year I shared a 2 bedroom unit with a roommate, before moving into a 1 bedroom unit my 2nd year for more privacy. There was a 2 week period between moving out of my first apartment and moving into the second apartment, but I had a full time job and needed to remain in the area for work. After speaking with the property management I was offered the opportunity to move in without delay if I accepted the new property as is. I did have some concerns about accepting the apartment as is, but the property manager, CJ, offered to visit the apartment and take photos to put my mind at ease. She sent me photos and stated via email the apartment did not have any visible damages I should be concerned about. CJ did say there was still some decor hung on the walls, so there were some areas that could not be thoroughly inspected. Her description of the apartment and email did put my mind at ease so I agreed to accept the apartment as is. Shortly after moving in I discovered one of the blinds was damaged and informed the office. There was a work order created and maintenance visited, but stated the blinds operated as intended and I didn't need to worry about it. There was also a significant water leak from the apartment above mine shortly after moving in. The staff stated they would take care of the leak, which they did, but no one ever visited my apartment to inspect or remedy damage caused by the leak. At move out I received a statement for $720 to replace stained carpet and pad in the bedroom ($500), replace blinds ($100), replace medicine cabinet ($40), cleaning fee ($80). I did clean prior to moving out, and none of the items on the statement were damaged by me. I do agree they were not in new or perfect condition, but all of the items were perfectly visible to the manager that inspected the property prior to me moving in, so I assumed it was considered normal wear and tear. They lost records of both of my deposits (pet & move in) and I had to dig up my records to prove that I actually paid them. They charged me very excessively for many move out costs. $60 to replace a flimsy plastic chair in my room that broke on its own? Ok. These people pinch every penny out of you anywhere they can. The Lofts are not a good place to rent. The apartments are nice but the company will do all they can do to over charge. When my granddaughter checked out they charged her for things she did not do and charge double for the things they said she did. I truly regret my decision to live at Lofts. It is a disgusting place to live. In addition to dog poop EVERYWHERE, guests have a habit of PEEING in the stairwell. Not to mention, LOUD parties leaving the pool TRASHED every weekend. On top of that, the maintenance staff is awful. Our dishwasher was "fixed" by the staff but come to find out a month later it was never fixed, and mold was growing in the base of the dishwasher. No wonder my roommates and I had been sneezing. Now let's talk about privacy. You have zero privacy at Lofts. Today, my morning shower was interrupted by extremely loud banging on my door. I was then rudely told by staff I was not "allowed" to have my privacy lock locked. Previously, I had gotten emails informing me when staff needed to enter the premises, but apparently in the summer, no such warning exist. Lofts may look nice on your first visit, sure they'll clean and roll out the red carpet for you. But trust me when I say living there for a year is a completely different story. UPDATE: My roommates and I have now had our property destroyed as a result of the humidity level in our apartment. We put in a maintenance request regarding how humid it was a couple months prior and were told that "there was nothing that could be done" and "it's the contractors fault" so nothing was done. Now this past weekend, all four of us found mold in our closets. Those cute $50 suede heels I bought? Covered in mold. Some of my roommates jackets and hats had to be thrown out. Staff was apologetic and said they'd look into fixing the humidity levels in our apartment. Too bad we didn't get that kind of effort when we put in a maintenance request months prior. It took our property being destroyed and 3 angry girls to get any kind of progress from staff. Also, wifi is "included in rent." Then why am I paying for something that never works?? I called and complained and was told I would have to contact suddenlink myself! Uh NO??? That's the apartment's responsibility to fix the wifi when it goes down!! I'm paying you $6,000 to live here. It's a nice apartment, the floor plans are great and so is the management. The rent isn't too bad and they're pat friendly. There is a nice sized pool and there are always events being held by the office. Maintenance is also pretty good at fixing/resolving issues in a timely manner. read more

I really like it here. It is in a great location for me to be able to walk to school and work. It also has a great staff who are very friendly. The only problem I really had is the managment team hasn't always been to great. I have had some problems with the old management team telling old roommates my personal information. I believe the old managment team is still around but at legends now. read more

It's not too bad. Kinda feels like you're living in a dorm but you feel for independent and less restricted of the things you want to do in you're own dorm. My stay at the Lumberjack Lofts was not what I wanted for my SR year of college. What attracted me to the Lofts was $499 per month rent, all bills paid. On move in day, they voided my first lease and forced me to sign a new lease that made me pay an extra $10 bucks per. If I did not do that I would have an eviction on my record, and I would have to find somewhere else to live. I bit the bullet and excepted the extra $10 per month for the amazing pool side view. During that whole conflict, the property manager spoke to my parents as if they were children, even thought one of my parents holds a PHD. After that I moved into a dirty apartment filled with female hair everywhere and a clogged toilet. That was the least of my worries, when I woke up to small bite marks that covered my legs. Yes, my apartment had a flee problem. My apartment was bombed 3-5 times. After that was over with, I learned to live with paper thin walls(You can literally hear conversations coming from the pool area) sharing a space that was too small for 4 men, room chairs that are made out of paper, kitchen lights that go out every 2-3 weeks, and extremely dirty hall ways. However, the Lofts do have GREAT student staff workers, and it provides a great area to hang out with your peers, and parking is GREAT! Now it's time to talk about the ugly truth. Sadly Nacogdoches is located in Deep East Texas, and as a African American, you will not get to enjoy the pool like others do. And expect to be charged on move out day. You're basically paying for what they did not fix before you moved it. If you planning to move off campus, I would go to The Groove or actually rent/buy a house. You'll be saving a lot of money and time. read more

The girl at the front desk told me, "it happens all the time." I am not sure if it was lost or if one of the employee's stole it, but I am really upset.
