This place looks amazing...myself, my brother, and friends stayed here for me and my brothers birthday. Walking into the loft we were all speechless. Big kudos for the use of space, layout, and the sweet 2 bedroom loft. It has 2 nice sized bed rooms with comfortable queen beds and a closet & dresser in each room. There is a full kitchen, with a fridge, stove, microwave, glasses & silverware,also a living room with a couch/pull out bed with a flat screen TV mounted on the wall and a cool bathroom with his and her sinks. The unfortunate part about this place was the filthy floor (wore shoes while walking on the hardwood floors), it had a lot of dust/dirt on it and our socks told on housekeeping. After 1 person showered the water was no longer hot(I was in the shower long enough to get soap on me and the water went cold on me) and we were told someone forgot to set the temperature...so if you stay I recommend you tell them to ensure the water in your room remains warm. There was also an iron that was falling to pieces and leaked water all over the floor before we requested a new one. Overall, this place is 3 stars with definite 5 star potential if they can get it fully together and ensure that the rooms are ready so guests don't have to ask for much of anything once in the room. I booked this hotel looking for something different than a typical one room with 2 beds in it. I had high hopes from the reviews, but overall we were all disappointed. The website listed parking as available at our surrounding lots. The parking available are questionably staffed commercial lots for $14 or $20. I would think parking would be included for a room that was $305.99 per night including taxes. The lobby is oddly decorated for a higher end hotel. Wood paneling is what you get. The front desk staff was friendly and quick. The room was a total disappointment. First of all, the entry closet door handle was falling off. Moving to the kitchen, the Voss Water sitting on the counter was for sale at $3.00 a bottle. Both bottles were covered in oily fingerprints and dried on flaky crud. (Have pictures) Bathroom was not scary, although the shower tile had a nice soap film left over from less than thorough cleaning. The bedrooms are spartan, one having numerous stains on the carpet. The baseboards showed a lack of cleaning with dust piled up in the corners. Mattress quality is firm and typical of a low end motel. Beds appeared fresh and clean. The gas fireplace had a pretty epic buildup of smoke film on the inside of the glass, plus some plasticky material melted to the outside. The mantel covered in dust. Once I saw the condition of the room, i snapped a few pictures to share. Overall, furniture, floors, and fixtures show some pretty decent wear and tear. Walls showed lots of scuffs and stains. Living room had only two recessed lights, one of which was burnt out. We were on second floor front of building. Your main view is an unfinished parking garage. The associated brewery/eatery next door was really the only high point or advantage to staying at this hotel. Next time I would stay at one of the 2 hotels on the Canal side area. read more

All the reviews are on point so I'll try and add something new. There are loaner umbrellas in the lobby, two good restaurants next door especially the one that has breakfast. No car is needed since its walking distance to everything and around public transportation. The staff was great. The only minus I have is there is only one tv in the room so if you have s group there may be a problem. I'd definitely stay there again. read more

I HIGHLY recommend staying here. For the price it was a fantastic find! We had 9 people staying in 2 neighboring suites. The suites were extremely clean, beautiful, stylish, and large. The main beds were very comfortable. The living area was roomy. It was nice having a full kitchen, too. The front desk employees were very friendly and helpful. The location was great; right off the highway, on the same block as a brewery/ pub, and just a few blocks from ice skating! The downside was that in one suite we couldn't regulate the heat and were very hot during the night. Possibly our fault, we never asked... Also, the living areas could use more seating. We had to carry chairs from the other suite. Another couch would've been great. The pull out sofa wasn't comfortable, but I guess they never are. It was definitely worth the price, we were all very happy and will return for our next stay. read more

The Lofts on Pearl are definitely not a bad place to stay, but there were a few things that threw me for a loop: - My boss held a room for me on her credit card. She wanted to PAY for the room, they didn't tell her she couldn't and she was under the impression that you could. I think it's hilarious that in this day and age, with all the ways we can pay for things online with credit cards, over the phone, etc. that my boss wasn't allowed to pay for my room. It's absolutely ridiculous and archaic. They wanted her to fax something? Umm--what? It's 2014, not 1993. - While the lofts are beautiful, it's very strange to stay the night by yourself in such a huge apartment. I didn't use any of the amenities, like the HUGE, full kitchen--and it felt very cold, spooky, weird. - Parking is super expensive. There was free street parking all around--it made no sense. - Service I found to be lacking--no big smiles, no "How was your stay?" Not even a "What can I do to make your stay better?" when I came in and found out they wouldn't allow my boss to pre-pay for my room. - The lofts are huge, with full kitchens, but there is no mini bar. It's not like there isn't space. It seemed weird. read more

Let's rent the condos for $250. + per night..and we will make even more $ than if we sold them!! The pictures are horrible, the décor is tattered and ugly..o my goodness.. have any of you yelpers ever yelped condos in Chicago for instance.? Buffalo is sadly lagging way behind.. same as in 1984 when I left this town for Chicago... things have NOT CHANGED KIDS... Why would anyone think this is such a great deal? Take this as a review that is maybe 25% room based and 75% wedding reception based. I had my wedding at the Lofts on Pearl in August 2015. We stayed in one of their rooms for two nights since it was incredibly convenient. The room was beautiful - a mix between more modern looking appliances/cabinetry, and the beautiful brick wall with tv and fireplace was fantastic. The windows provided some light and what would be a great view if there wasn't a big building directly across the street. The windows would have been nicer to look out of if there weren't spiders and spiderwebs all over the window frames, which were also filled with bugs who had met their unfortunate end in the spider webs... Seems like a simple wipe through with a duster could have alleviated that situation. The floor could have been mopped -- I wore a white wedding dress, so you would think that the floor would have actually been cleaned, or at least sweeped before we came in.... despite all of us wearing only socks in the room, my dress was already dirty at the bottom from walking around the room. Not a life changer, but still disappointing. The pricing itself seemed a little high, but I guess that's what happens when you own most of the major wedding venues in Buffalo and they know they don't have to haggle. I will say that they are least provided some fantastic food, which is not something you get to say about wedding food very often. The fact that this place doesn't offer a paid tasting, but you had to attend their stupid bridal show that happens only a certain time of the year, was absolutely ridiculous. We wanted to pay them more money for samples of food that we were already about to commit to paying thousands of dollars for. Instead, we were forced to go to a Buffalo Wedding show that was held in Pearl Street, with hundreds of other people packed in there and moved around like cattle, just to make sure we picked out the right food. It was a little disappointing to see my name spelled wrong on the sign they placed out front to announce our wedding. Again, not a game changer, but really? You have all of our information on paper and couldn't have double checked to make sure the spelling was correct? Parking was more money if you didn't want to park half a block or more away. Why they didn't bother to try to work something out with the event parking right next to the building is beyond me. Even as the bride and groom who got a room for two nights and sold out our "wedding block" of rooms, they still didn't even offer a parking spot for us, which should be something they include, considering the parking in that area is atrocious, especially if there's an event going on. Worst part about this place was that the area that they let you have your actual ceremony in is directly connected to the "lobby" and any person can walk through the door into your ceremony. We were being married around 5pm and a drunk bachelorette party had come stumbling into the area instead of going into the elevators and started screeching and laughing as we were trying to say our vows. How they don't have someone standing near the door when an event like that is happening boggled my mind and that put a real sour taste in my mouth. Top that off with the same drunk bachelorette party coming INTO our reception, and I was really upset. Overall, it was a nice place to stay and a nice place to get married, but it was still expensive and I wasn't happy that they didn't take care to make sure no one who wasn't an actual invited person made it into our reception or ceremony, on top of the fact that we had to jump through hoops to be able to taste test their food. read more

Loved the hotel. It's really more of an apartment, so good for groups, because of how much space there is. Bed was nice and comfy, as was the living room with gas fireplace. The windows were amazing, and on the 5th floor offered nice views of the city. Finishes were very well done. Staff was friendly, breakfast vouchers for the little place around the corner was great.(Don't forget about the 10% off at Pearl next door) Had to pay for parking the the lot, which I didn't mind, but almost would have preferred valet. The lot was just tight with VERY specific instructions, but I did find parking every night so I'm not mad. The water fall shower head was nice, but the water was never as hot as I would have liked. Could hear the elevator bell ding, but couldn't hear any of the other rooms. A little pricy for buffalo, but more then reasonable given the amount of space. read more

The size of the room is awesome. The two bedroom apartment gives plenty of space for a couple day stay. There aren't any other real amenities in the hotel. Having the brewery next door is good as there are no eating options in the hotel. Parking was certainly challenging but I was able to find street parking for free the entire weekend. I got a room here for New Years with a group of friends. There were 7 of us in total, but only 5 spent the night. I loved the loft. We all brought in frozen food and drinks and were able to use the oven. The kitchen was furnished with plates, utensils, and cups. Even had a dishwasher that we ran in the morning. The 2 bedrooms were cozy, though neither had windows, which I thought was odd and unsafe. That's the buzzkill in me talking. I loved the living room. It was huge. We were able to move a table and played board games. The only issue was the fireplace wasn't working. The guys spent about 15 minutes trying to get it to start before calling the desk. They were told that it doesn't work. Would have been nice to know that prior to messing with it and having to smell the gas. Another thing to note, it advertises that it comes with a "continental breakfast" That breakfast is a bagel with an orange juice. If you want anything else, it's $5 per person. I felt that was kind of false advertising. I did like the loft. I would definitely come back with a group of friends. read more

Internet essentially did not work all 5 days of my stay. If you are in town for business or any other activity in which internet is important, then you're better off avoiding a place that can't get provide basic services. No clocks or phones in the bedrooms (ie, no alarm clocks). Hallways are noisy, TV hardly worked, some of the fixtures and furniture were either broken, ripped, or had holes. To the credit of the cleaning staff, the rooms were clean. Folks at front desk are lovely, but the place itself can't make up for it. read more

Wow! We stayed here with 2 kids. LOVED the large 2 Bed apt. Pictures on their site are EXACT. Views not so great, but that is to be expected based upon the block. Rooms are small with massive storage. Full kitchen is amazing. The restaurant next door is amazing. Staff is fab. Family friendly (Tuesday night!!) 2nd floor l with a fun game room. Nice hotel with a very cool, contemporary vibe. We loved the 2bedroom apartments with the fireplace and nice appointments in all rooms. We found everything very clean. I did find the place somewhat noisy with the wood floors. Although we could not hear a thing from the neighboring apartment/room where my 2 adult children and their partners were staying, we could hear people walking upstairs and also everything in the large hallway. A party was taking place across the way until security came (I'm thinking the room next to them called) at 1:30 AM . Then we got to hear the goodbyes for the next 30 minutes. Otherwise a beautiful place with a great wedding/party venue for rent on the 1st floor. read more

These lofts are much more like spacious apartments...HUGE living areas, full kitchens (and I do mean full... regular sized refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, oven, etc). Believe me, once you check in, you will wish you could stay longer. I would come back to Buffalo just to stay here. To begin with, the date our online non-cancellable reservation got screwed up (not the fault of the Lofts on Pearl Street). So, we arrived without a reservation, but there was one room left. Keana - the fabulous lady at the desk - went above and beyond to fix things to our great satisfaction. She then gave us a great recommendation for a Thai restaurant. More about Keana in a minute. We got a beautiful suite with a kitchen on the fifth floor of this century plus old renovated building. Everything is new and of a quality you'd find in a nice house. We even had a working gas fireplace. The décor is minimalist and modern, but it really fits the motif this urban location. The beds are comfortable. Add to that WiFi, TV with full Time/Warner and complimentary breakfast at the restaurant next door. To top it off, Keana did us a big favor later on. There was apparently a private party at the restaurant next door that had a pounding beat after 10:30 pm. She called and got them to turn it down so we didn't hear it in our room. Overall, an excellent experience, especially if you're tired of the cookie-cutter sameness of the chain hotels. read more

What a great place! We had reservations at a scary B&B and called on a whim hoping there would be some openings (this was our first choice anyway but they were booked). There was one room available for the two nights we were in Buffalo, so we took it. What a find! The room was huge, clean, and modern. We had a great view of the harbor and surrounding area. The second night, there was a private party on the back deck of the brewery next door. The music was ridiculously loud! We exoected it to end at 11-12 but were still trying to sleep at 1:30 am! My husband called the front desk and the manager came right up. He offered us an empty room on the other side of the hotel. My kids and I moved to the other room and were able to sleep for a few hours. Hubby says the music didn't end until after 2 am. He also said that the manager went iver to the brewery to talk to someone, which initially did not help. But, he returned with another (large) gentleman and the music was turned down to about half the volume. I'm all for parties and having a good time. I just can't imagine why the music had to be so loud! Our windows were rattling! Finally, we were not charged what we were originally quoted (perhaps for the inconvenience of the party next door?)...which was a nice surprise! The staff was amazing, the location convenient and the property clean and spacious. We'll definitely stay here again. read more

Nice place aside from the fact of getting bit by something in the middle of the night. I believe it was from bed bugs from the pullout couch. I lifted the mattress and saw a black spot which usually indicates bed bugs. The staff said they didn't find anything but I still got bit. Went to bed with nothing and woke up with them. read more

This hotel refuses to accept a CASH payment for a hotel room, despite my offer to pay the room rate plus any amount needed as a deposit. Just had to cancel all but one of my credit cards, and the only one I could use is my medical pay card. The property gets a 5 star, the other issues bring it down to a 4 star. We booked a 2 bedroom and arrived late at night (1030PM). Parked in front and were able to unload right away and get to room. No Parking in their lot. Suggestions were street side (weekends are free) or a local parking lot ($14-$20 for over night). Front desk person was awesome and was able to provide a stack of local delivery options. Room was fantastic outside of no TV's in the bedrooms which is odd, especially for a hotel. View was great, amenities great and beds really comfy. Went next door to Pearl Street BrewerY for food. Very friendly and good food and beer. Went to the deli the next morning for breakfast and although good, was extremely slow service (almost 30 minutes for some egg dishes). Overall the cost was a bit high. Should have been around $250 total for a night, but paid $350. Elevator not overly clean. Pros definitely outweigh the negatives, super friendly staff, nice rooms, close to great areas. read more

This place is actually great. Big room, renovated, service is great... Until Saturday night. The bar below is SO LOUD!!! Impossible to sleep, I can't barely hear the tv! Called the front desk at 10pm, wondering when the music would stop. I was told 11pm. Fine I can deal with that, although not great... It's now 11:15pm, called back the front, being told it won't stop until 11:30pm. Come on, don't lie to me at least. Brutal. Still wondering when I will be able to sleep. Went to the front desk with my sleepers at 11:45pm, being told it would stop by midnight. It finally did at 12:15am.... read more

While this is a very cool place to stay with it's exposed brick walls, there are a number of things that need to be "fixed." First, the windows do not open (they should up but are painted shut), the gas fireplace does not work (we consulted woman at front desk who did not help), no cooking pots/pans in kitchen, and the window are so dirty that you cannot see out of them. Only positive is the amount of space and closeness to certain musical and sports venues. read more

Fabulous location, wonderful experience. We will definitely stay again. My husband and 2 boys stayed here for a quick get away which included a Sabers game and ice skating. You can walk to everything. Rooms were very clean. Some say breakfast was slow. We didn't mind it. It it was very tasty. Breakfast is included and basically you get a 5 dollar credit at the deli. It was very trendy and we all had breakfast sandwiches and a beverage. If you want a larger breakfast you can get it you just have to pay the overage no big deal. I must say the sandwiches were quite large. We were there about 45 min. Parking we didn't mind. Typical city parking but very close to the hotel. I would recommend paying for parking if you need to park a car. Great spot to stay if you were also going to a Bisons game. Huge full kitchen . The only negative I have, and it is not a big one is the lack of a coffee table, tiny bit of wear on the furniture , no tea bags in the room (only coffee) and lack of another mirror besides the bathroom mirror. For the space and amenities I would have given it a higher rating. It has two separate bedrooms (great for my kids) It has a full kitchen and good living space. This worked well for my husband and I as we has a wedding to attend next door one night and had a friend babysit our young children. Therefore she didn't feel cramped in a traditional hotel room and could prepare meals for the kids I was less impressed with the cleanliness and some of the appearance. The living room rug had large stains, many rips in the couch, many deep scratches on the walls, there was a lot of hair and dust found in the corners of the walls and bathroom and my young toddler found a prescription capsule on the floor by the bed as we were unpacking (thankfully didn't try to eat it). I addressed this with a friendly manager but still walked away not satisfied. The breakfast next door is very filling and affordable but the service is extremely slow (allow enough time) and friendliness was lacking. Despite some things I found less than desirable, just the space and kitchen accommodations make it likely I would stay again if I travel to Buffalo with children in the future read more

I'm giving this review three stars because even though there's a lot of good to say about this hotel, there's equally a lot of less than good. Firstly, the staff here is amazing! Patrick, Jason, Tawnee (not sure how she spells it) - they are all amazing. The location of this hotel is also very good. You can walk to canalside, the bisons games, plenty of Churches (St. Joseph's Cathedral is a must) and the restaurants downstairs. I do love that they offer a good discount on breakfast at the deli and lunch/dinner at the brewery. The food is amazingly good. The rooms are also very comfortable. You can't beat a 2 bedroom hotel room with a full kitchen! It helps that these "rooms" used to be 2 bedroom apartments. The TV Cable is great and they offer on demand viewing so no complaints there. Now to the not so good... We stayed here long term so that may be why this would affect me more than short-term guests... The Internet connection is terrible. It works great sometimes and other times my devices refuse to even connect. I do know they've been working on fixing this! It very much appreciated! It can be VERY slow when a lot of devices are in use or when the hotel is booked. Another downside is the parking. Sometimes the lots have plenty of space and sometimes you can't even find a spot. Even though you pay $20/day for short term stays or $20/week for long term stays "they can't guarantee a spot" WHAT?! that's just crazy. Also, when you're staying for more than a few days it would be nice to have a laundry facility; they have the space but they won't put in a simple washer and dryer. Something that's so relatively inexpensive and can be done for less than I pay to stay here 1 month. It would really make your customers happy to be able to go anywhere in the building for a quick wash. Instead they give you the option to use their laundry service which can get very expensive! $3.50 to wash a shirt?! No thanks. I have used their dry cleaning and that is reasonable, but for simple laundry you have to go to a laundromat anywhere from 10-20 minutes away. Not ideal. Another thing that would be nice to have is a small gym but I won't make that a point of contention since they offer free use of a gym walking distance from here making it unlikely that they'll ever get around to adding one on site. Overall a great place to stay for a night or even the summer. read more

the racism and unprofessionalism by nght auditor chad and general manager evan baker was appaling the weekend of novemer 13th 2015. the cops got called because of the color of my guests skin as they tried to get on the elevator to my room. all day and night groups of more than 6 were allowed up(white people) and nothing was said to them. but yet my group gets stopped because of their race. if the policy is ni more than 6 per room than it needs to be applied for every guest and it was not. i would never recommend this hotel to anyone, no matter of the race because of how unprofessional chad was. there was no niose complaints and no calls were made to my room by anyone letting me know of a problem until i had to go down to the lobby on my own and witness a rambling front desk person with his hands in the air while walking away from me saying he wasnt speaking to anyone and that the police was called. theyre security officer mike explained how he does this all the time and that there is nothing we can do. the police and security sympathized with us and eventually had to pull chad to the side because if how irate he was. worst experience ever. evan baker needs to get fired for not communicating with his employees on how to handle guests and rightfully inform them. read more
