Great place to stay in Buffalo, exceptionally friendly front desk staff. Coming in from whatever activities we did each day, and no matter who was up front, we were greeted and they were welcoming as we passed. Hotel is crisp and clean throughout, rooms are comfortable and we did not notice any cleaning issues. It's not something I would take a star off for, but mainly because it's Buffalo. We were annoyed that the rooms had motion sensing thermostats. Even with the mild weather that we were visiting during, the lack of air circulation while gone always made the room uncomfortable to return to, because it was stuffy. Thankfully, it would be cleared up within 20-30 minutes, but being outside all day and wanting to comfortably relax when you return, it kind of puts a damper on that... and I don't really know what kind of savings it presents. It's easy enough for an AC system to maintain 70 degrees when it barely gets above that outside. Anyhow, thanks to the climate, a minor annoyance. Would stay here again! We booked an extended stay at your hotel for a family trip. However, we were extremely disappointed with the condition of our room upon arrival. On the first day, we found a container of ice cream that had clearly been left behind by the previous guests -- completely untouched by housekeeping. I have attached a photo for your reference. On the second day, we returned to the room after 6:30 p.m., only to find that our room had not been cleaned at all. We called the front desk to report this, but the response was indifferent and dismissive. We have stayed at many hotels before, and never have we experienced a situation where we were out of the room all afternoon and it was still not cleaned. This was truly unacceptable and one of the worst hotel experiences we've had. read more

My family and I stayed at the Hyatt Buffalo/Amherst for three nights, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had. The room was infested with bedbugs. All of us were bitten multiple times, and we could not sleep during our entire stay. What made this even worse was the aftermath: we had to thoroughly clean all of our belongings, and out of fear that bedbugs might have traveled with us, we ended up discarding some personal items. This caused additional stress and unnecessary loss on top of the physical discomfort. Although I booked with Free Night Awards, those nights are not truly free--they required a Hyatt credit card and meeting spending thresholds. Yet Hyatt's only response so far has been to offer some points, which does not even cover a single night at most properties. I have reached out multiple times to Hyatt's customer service and corporate offices, but weeks later, I still have not received a proper response or resolution. A brand like Hyatt should take health, safety, and guest care much more seriously. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend this hotel, and I am deeply disappointed with Hyatt's lack of accountability. read more

This place was supposed to help myself and a veteran of our country instead they lied saying they never talked to anyone at all about our veterans voucher . This was false and our social worker even admitted this hotel is very difficult to deal with when it comes to helping people it doesn't seem like they want to at all after you get there. We had no AC/HEAT for a week straight before they offered to move our rooms, instead they had maintenance come and kicked us out rather than fixing/helping with the matter. read more

We found at least 12 pieces of long black hair scattered throughout the bathroom. Carpet was not vacuumed prior to check-in. Carpet felt dirty... Most of the pillows smelled bad like those pillows were from a previous guest. Out of 6 pillows; only 2 smelled okay. Bed cover had dried blood stain. Housekeeping didn't do a good job. This hotel is not what we expected and there were a lot of issues. Probably never staying here again! 1. Room was small and cramped. No where to put/store our suitcases. 2. Breakfast was horrible! Eggs were cold, rubbery, and had no flavor. Bacon was good but, was only offered one of the many days we were there. 3. One of the two elevators in the hotel was down the entire time we were there and the staff proceeded to put us and many other visitors on the top floor. There were many times where we literally had to wait 10 minutes in order to use the very cramped elevator. (The one that was broken was finally STARTING to get fixed the day we left.) Positives: - good sized rooms (two beds and a sectional style pull-out sofa) - lots of breakfast items - large pool and large spa (currently have reservation times and capacity limits) - plenty of parking - friendly staff - different pillow softnesses - online checkout via the app - easy drive to/from the airport Negatives: - some breakfast items either ran out or they stopped replenishing (towards end of breakfast) - our room phone wasn't hooked up and all the available plugs were full (only needed the phone to call down to reserve the pool) - could hear anything happening in the hallways such as loud children and pets We would definitely stay here again. read more

Hotel seems like it needs a refresh. The shower tiles appear old and dated as is the furniture in the room as well. The front staff was very nice and accommodating however not many amenities as in a full restaurant or even a small store to purchase sundries. This review is only about two things. The irony of the condition of the lobby. And the dog policy. Over the course of the past ten years I have lived in hotels for weeks to months at a time. I brought someone to check in and we asked if I could bring my 15 pound dog (when I came to pick them up later ) to the room. Their policy was that there is a $75. cleaning fee that I would need to pay if I were to bring my dog upstairs. When I explained that we wouldn't be staying, they explained there were people with allergies and they would have to clean the room. In my experience no hotel is ever that clean sadly. Bring your own cleaning supplies. Also in my experience, hotels have floors that are dedicated to people who have pets. Not only for allergies but in case they might bark and for the comfort of people who aren't comfortable with pets. Finally I simply must say that I have not seen any pet make a room dirtier then the things people have done to rooms or left in rooms(I found)that were " cleaned" rooms. I might need to add that the hotels I'm referring to are exactly the same quality as Hyatt. I have brought my dogs on many trips and paid a flat fee of $100 for the entire stay. Finally while I was pondering this strange policy I looked around and noticed how much cleaning needed to be done in the waiting area. I'm not saying don't stay at the Hyatt at all. I'm simply saying that's a rather silly policy and I'm sure I'm not the only client or staff member who is chuckling at it. Great location just 5 miles from airport. Across the street is a Valero gas station with reasonable prices for your rental car gas refill. Staff and room were both great. Slept well in comfortable bed. Room was clean, no issues. Free breakfast for members is standard Hyatt Place stuff. Bananas were very fresh. Easy checkin and checkout. And a huge thanks to the hotel manager who helped us get rid of the smoke odors in our rental car. Above and beyond the call of duty! Saved our trip! read more

Average stay at an overpriced hotel. Would research other hotels in the area before considering returning here. Pros: Maintenance is outstanding. Smooth check-in. Front desk personnel were courteous. Good location near the highway and airport. Airport shuttle is available for guests who need it. Relatively quiet stay. Decent hot breakfast, which included coffee, scrambled eggs, sausage, and prepared waffles. The oat milk was a nice touch for lactose-intolerant guests. Cons: We were initially informed by Brianna in July that there would be an up-charge for two queen beds as opposed to a king with a pull-out bed. The day of our arrival in August she mentioned that "the price is the same," but rooms with two queen beds weren't available. That was unprofessional and entirely disappointing. Our hotel room was not fully functional upon entering. Three lamps and the phone were not working. There were no bedding and pillows for the pull-out bed, as promised. The front desk texted me to ask if everything was okay. Aside from the room not being ready for guests... Maintenance fixed the lamps immediately and put a new battery in the phone, which was charging throughout the duration of our stay. Bedding and pillows for the pull-out bed arrived two hours later. No complementary bottled water for guests. No bathtub, as there are in the queen rooms. An incredibly inconsiderate family with visibly sick children (coughing and sneezing) took them swimming in the indoor pool. While this is not the hotel's fault, a staff member who was in the pool area could have opened a window so other guests could use the pool sans fear of also taking ill. This same family coughed and sneezed their way around the dining area the following morning without covering their mouths. Hyatt Place Buffalo/Amherst is a huge disappointment for guests who have stayed at the Hyatt House in Fishkill, New York. There, guests receive complimentary popcorn upon entering and find two bottles of water in the spacious hotel room. In contrast, Hyatt Place Buffalo/Amherst provides far fewer amenities in smaller rooms with higher prices. We departed disappointed and would likely not return to this hotel location. read more

They charged both my cards for a one night stay, then when we got into the room my daughter went to use the bathroom and the toilet seat fell off. THEN we found a Freaking ROACH in one of our beds! Hotel stays during Covid can be Very Stressful but not at Hyatt Place Amherst . I have been a frequent guest of Hyatt Place Amherst for many years. With both our families in Buffalo, my wife and I find we have a much more enjoyable visit knowing we have a relaxing place to escape and unwind after a long day. Hyatt Place has been that place! Since Covid happened in Spring of 2020, this is our first trip back to WNY in approximately 16 months. We didn't know what to expect with our lodging and how comfortable we would be staying in a place with other people. Hyatt Place exceeded our expectations in every aspect. Before Covid the breakfast was a large buffet and Very Good. I thought that they would have just canceled the breakfast, but instead they came up with an ingenious idea. The eggs, sausage and potatoes are all in an individually wrapped container. All breads (and they are delicious) are individually wrapped. What I love about this is that it makes it easy to grab breakfast and take it back up to the room to enjoy. You can still sit down stair or outside, but I enjoy having our own space and it works perfectly. Housekeeping was also a concern we had. We have been very careful, especially visiting with our parents in their 80s on whom we come in contact with. We opted for every 4 days cleaning on our 26 day visit. It worked perfectly. Whenever we needed new towels, the front desk would send them up. I am sure you can have cleaning every day, but we found it no problem going without. Late night snack. I was so worried they wouldn't have food at night. The pepperoni pizza is So Good and my wife is a huge fan of the chocolate chip cookies. They are all still available!!! Masks. I know some people are not fans, and I'm not saying I love wearing them but understand the need during this time. I was happy to see that the staff all wore masks. I felt very safe and very welcome at Hyatt Place Amherst. The manager Matt does a great job finding awesome employees. Everyone is so nice and helpful. Arriving, the hotel seems nice enough from the outside. The complimentary breakfast in the morning is also quite good. But, thats about where the service stops. In the room, the phone button that rings the front desk/concierge has a perpetual busy tone, thankfully, pressing 0, instantly gets you the front desk--not that its noted anywhere. Speaking of things not being noted anywhere, there was no info/welcome packet in my room, leaving me bewildered as to the locations or presence of any amenities I might've wished to use. Further, housekeeping came to my room once the day after I checked in and that was the last time my room ever got housekeeping. When I called the front desk about this, they sounded clueless and said I needed to request this. When I asked if there was supposed to be an info/welcome packet in my room with this information, they said simply answered with "Uh, I don't know!" So, thankfully I am pretty busy on this trip and am rarely back at the room, but it is unfortunate that a name brand like Hyatt can't provide housekeeping, or even rudimentary hotel information for their guests. Leaving this feedback on the Hyatt site, the Hyatt agent in the Live Chat told me to simply go complain to management here at the hotel. I told them that I was quite busy and left feedback as their website indicated and would not be spending any further time or effort on this, I merely wished to report what I had experienced. I love the Hyatt Place hotels. As a part of my husband's birthday festivities we went to the Buffalo Bills game and decided to get a room the night before. When we saw that there was a Hyatt Place in town, it was a no brainer. As always, the rooms are suite style, however this one did not have a kitchenette. It did have a sectional sofa with a living area space. The hotel is new. The front desk was incredibly kind. Everything was well appointed and comfortable. Staff left my husband a birthday card and printed MapQuest directions to the stadium. Such a lovely touch! Highly recommended for a stay while in town. read more

My family came to Buffalo for the week and so we stayed at the Hyatt as it seemed to be pretty centralized near everything. PROS: *It's 10-15 mins to everything you need near Buffalo *place is clean *staff is phenomenal ..... front desk was super courteous and attentive (Josh, Nico, Susan's, noelle, ) Cons: * the bathroom door was unbearable... super heavy to open and close **** if you order take out they let the delivery person to your room door**** this was probably the most uncomfortable part of my stay. I find it that for security reasons, and like other hotels, delivery should be met at the lobby. Other than that I would totally come back when I'm Buffalo. read more

I checked in 10/27/24 in the evening. I had an amazing stay and checkin in experience with two amazing women who could not have been more accommodating. The room, as always, was top notch as expected of the Hyatt brand. With this said my check-out experience could not have been more shocking. I left the hotel at 5am to a grumpy man who stated to me, "I hope you have a nice day despite the political button", I was wearing. Seriously? I expect more from hotel staff especially from the Hyatt brand. Hospitality and service staff should always remain neutral when dealing with guests. This was a sour note for the Hyatt brand in Buffalo. This is a learning and coaching experience for that staff member. Hyatt you can do better. read more

My experience here was eye opening. It left feeling grossed out and appalled! As I travel a lot, I stay in many hotels, air b&b's, etc. I bring with me an ultra violet flashlight to check for cleanliness. We get to our room and I instantly check the bedding (from top to bottom) and to my horror, the sheets and pillow cases were covered with bodily fluids. Also dressers and nightstands also showed that they had not been cleaned as well. Called down to the front desk and made them aware of this. Night manager Nico came up and we showed him. He stood there with a blank stare. He said a few 'I'm sorry about this', but just stood there clearly not knowing what to say. He goes and comes back with a new room key for a new room. Upon entering the room with us, I instantly did my check in front of him. Once AGAIN the sheets were covered with bodily fluids. Clearly their housekeeping staff has not been changing the sheets after guests leave. At that point I told him he needs to have a serious talk with their staff! Once again he stood there quite. We asked what he was going to do about this. Long story short, HE ended up changing the bedding because there was no housekeeping at this time of night. I took photos and video for proof of this and for this hotel to take a serious look at their housekeeping staff. Pure laziness and not healthy for future guests. We contacted Corporate and they have NEVER returned our call!! We're so disappointed in our whole experience there. Did they 'comp' or discount ANYTHING?? NO!! Sadly we will not stay there or any Hyatt Place again! Folks... I HIGHLY recommend you buy yourself a UV flashlight and check your bedding when sleeping in beds that are not your own. read more

I've worked with the Hyatt Place Buffalo/Amherst location for several fundraising events, and can say they've been incredibly helpful and generous. They're offering a special, when you host 3 fundraisers (1x - 3/mo), you'll receive 50% of the drink proceeds raised. It's located behind the Reikart House and Jazzboline, which can sometimes make it hard for people to find. The turn in, is right near the 90, and right across from a gas station. I'm very thankful they have a turn lane on Main to enter, because otherwise it would really backup traffic. The parking lot can be a little hard to navigate, due to the fact that you have to go through the parking for Jazzboline. You drive right past the entrance, so you do have to drive very slow, because people will cross without even looking. There's a speed bump that separates the parking lot for JB and the HP. When you walk in, it's a gorgeous view. The front desk is right in the front, a bar and eating area to your right, and workstations on the left. The staff are incredibly friendly and very helpful. The food is wonderful, and there's a very good selection. They serve liquor, wine, beer, soft drinks, Starbucks coffee and juice. There's a fire pit located in an outside sitting area. They have a great breakfast food area, and there's a microwave as well. They offer great room deals. We stayed for 5 nights here during my husband's Highland games competition. Everything was good! This is a brand new hotel so everything was still clean and nice. The hotel is located next to the highway but I could barely hear the traffic. Everybody was friendly, we really enjoyed our stay. The daily breakfast is a plus also. They have decent variety. This hotel in Amherst is shiny and new. Opened in Aug 2015 I think. It's behind the old Lord Jeff (currently under renovation), and you won't see it coming on Main from Buffalo, so look for the sign. Follow that sign to a large parking lot. Upon entry you see the reception desk, which every time I was there was manned by at least 2 people. I didn't stay here, but guests of ours did and I spent time in the hotel arranging their stay and checking it out. This review is based on those experiences. There's a bar to the right, with some snack food. Each time I was there the bar was occupied and people looked happy. Continuing on there's the fire pit that all hotels seem to have now. Our guests reported that they liked the fire out and spent time there each evening. The pool is indoor and open year round. It does have doors to the outside. Plenty of towels for guests there. Also plenty of nice chairs. Not the biggest pool ever, but fine. The gym is next to the pool and has a number of cardio machines and some weights. Very adequate space. The rooms were large and had a fridge and micro. They do have some suites that I was told book quickly. Our guests said the beds were great. They also liked the breakfast that's available daily for free. I liked how easy to was to make a booking and how happy our guests were. I was shown the hotel and a room on one visit as I was making the booking. The receptionist who showed me around was patient and answered all my questions. He also was willing to show me the whole place. That doesn't always happen at hotels. It was nice. This hotel is owner by Carl Paladino I have since learned. As a result I won't put people up there again, as I don't think he represents our area well. But this stay was nice and overall a 4 star experience. 2622 read more

Just wow!! This hotel is everything you would look for! The Hyatt Place opened late August 2015 and is of course, new! It's everything that I look for in a hotel, classy, new, clean, great service, a real 5 star feel with an affordable price tag. From the clear water in the swimming pool to a pretty decent and sizeable 24 hour fitness center. The staff here have been always friendly and always willing to help. The hotel also offers a complimentary shuttle where it'll shuttle you typically within a 5 miles radius to the hotel. There are a lot of parking spots, possibly 100? Parking is free and plentiful, at least during the time that I was here (mid Nov 2015). There is also a complimentary continental breakfast which is part of your stay. The breakfast hours are 6:30-9:00 on the weekdays and 7:00-10:00 on the weekends. I hope the hotel maintains their positive attitude staff and keep the hotel looking and feeling new. We decided to stay here because the reviews were better than the one in downtown. The staff is very friendly. They offer shuttle and they even picked us up from the airport!! The room was nice but we didn't have a nice view. We stayed on the 1st level and we were facing the parking lot. The breakfast that they offered was good! Overall, the same each day but a few changes here and there. The staff during breakfast was also nice! My favorite was the build your own breakfast burrito. They also offered juices, coffee and tea. This hotel is approx 10 mins from downtown buffalo but there is still things to do in this area. I definitely recommend this location! read more

Front desk /reception man was not the kindest - when I asked for extra shampoo and conditioner, he said "Didn't you get shampoo and conditioner in your room?" I explained that we had 4 people and only got 1 set of shampoo & conditioner. He dug down in the cabinet and finally gave me 1 more set of shampoo and conditioner. I felt like I was ruining his day or something.... Thank goodness for the breakfast room server, I think it was Prama, who was attentive, asked how my day was going, brought me a breakfast box, and updated me about Buffalo weather. Spent a few nights here. Jazzboline restaurant and Reikert house hotel are right out front, shared parking lot. Good check in, they were kinda fussy about the whole mask wearing thing. They had to buzz me in late at night. First floor has a meeting room, small lobby, breakfast area, and down the hall a pool and fitness room. Just outside breakfast area is a small propane fire ring that was burning most of the time, with like 6-8 chairs around it. 2 elevators. One side faces the parking area and the interstate, and while the back faces a "pond", vegetation restricts the view of it, small dog walking area by the pond. Pool is small, with one spa that holds 5-6 people. Several lounge chairs. Policy when I stayed: fitness room closed. Pool allowed by reservation, for 2 hours a day, you reserve a time, get a key card and a wristband. Only 15 people allowed in pool area at any time. Hours were like 7am-9pm. Breakfast: coffee always available, but only had fruit, yogurt, some pastry, toast, oatmeal available, and juice. You can ask for a hot meal, and they bring it out to you in a container, scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage. You can eat there or in room. 2 elevators, I think 6 floors. Room comfortable, shower pressure low. Quiet. WiFi in room, but $5/day for all your devices gives "upgrade" speed, but it kept failing when I had online meeting anyway. Dish TV with several channels and ports for usb or hdmi. Irons in room, but no coffee makers . Ice by elevators, free. Bring extra plastic cups. Mini fridge was nice. They are fiercely anti smoking here, so will have to enjoy your cigars out in the parking lot, perhaps by fire pit. Weekends tend to get large families with kids banging on doors as a prank, and they take over the pool/fire pit as if no other guests exist. Neighborhood seemed safe, but saw people using pot in their cars in the lot. Price was right. read more
