This place is really good for what it is - just a country home restaurant with standard American fare. They have fun names for their sandwiches, and the burgers are juicy and well made. The fries leave something to be desired, and the mozzarella sticks are pretty generic. But the staff are friendly, and there's a ton of space if you're looking to have a big group join. They do have a cruise night on Thursday's in the summer that I hear is quite a bit of fun. read more

NOT kid friendly!!! We went to Log Cabin Pizza (doesn't sell pizza) after the Christmas light horse ride next door (great time!) with some extended family. The decorations were festive, Santa was roaming the dining area, so we thought it would be fun. Our night was ruined when the hostess(?) came over and snapped at our kids multiple times for stacking creamers and playing with silverware while waiting for food. She took the creamers, sugar and silverware and told them "These are NOT toys!" causing one of the kids to have a 20 minute meltdown because she didn't understand why they were in trouble. Maybe offer crayons if you don't want kids to occupy themselves with whatever is available for their curious minds. Our party's bill was over $300, so have some perspective that $1.45 worth of sugars and creamers would be easier to throw out and replace (if you're that worried about germs) than the tarnished reputation that this kind of transaction leaves on the customer and opportunity for future business. read more

Service was good and my family members enjoyed their meals. I ordered the haddock special and it was everything but special. Salad was easily a simple ice berg salad bag - came out quick. That was good. The meal it's self came out with no attention to detail or effort. The curly fries were the best part of the meal. My husband garbage plate also left more to be desired. My dad used to come here on cruise nights. I've had pretty good food in the past. We came here for breakfast and it was sooo dead. There were four parties including us. The food is very very average. Not bad, not knock your socks off. Not worth a drive fromPittsford for such a bland boring meal. The service was good. The coffee was kept filled. I felt bad for the server that there wasn't more business. The floor I have to say could have used a good sweeping. Crumbs and debris everywhere. They open at 7 am we were there at 9 am, maybe they do have an early bird crowd that's messy I don't know but if they don't they need to keep up on the housekeeping. The tables and chairs are tippy. Fix the legs on the chairs and tables. It was so distracting we had to switch tables. They don't do waffles except on weekends . I don't know it wasn't an overwhelming experience. Went here for the first time today. Had seen it many times but finally made time to go with family. There was a big birthday party going on at 9 am and when we were being seated the hostess with out the mostest wanted to seat us directly across from them. When we asked to be further away she got snotty and said why would it matter. It went down hill from there. She moved us but not pleasantly. Coffee ordered while we waited for family. They arrived and no refills had been offered. Our family ordered their drinks and it took just long enough to make us realize it wouldn't be worth staying today. The menu is ordinary and boring. Place is nice but we paid $18 for 3 coffees and 2hot choc we never drank nor did they offer take out. We won't be back. And will spread the word. In these times restaurants need need to be friendly and on top of customer service. read more

me my fiancé and four kids went there after Harv's 60th anniversary party. Food was decent service absolutely sucked!!!! As we walked in we were treated as an inconvenience right away. Our server was horrendous. So sorry to bother you! Waited forever for refills and had to flag you down to get them. I've been a server for 20 years I'm very keen on tips. " to insure proper service " this we did not get so we tipped nothing. The server literally followed me out the door talking trash. Another thing in the service industry you're not allowed to do or should. We will never be back I wish I got her name unfortunately didn't. Didn't even stay an eat. Your hostess staff was rude and not accommodating. Even, when we first arrived for the Mother's Day Brunch, she was rude to a customer ahead of us. When we were taken to our table, it was a bit tight and my mom is in a sling due to broken arm. I went back up to the hostess station and said is there any possibility that we could be moved to a table due to my moms arm. And she stated "Not for small parties", then I asked if we could have a bigger booth and she smirked at me at shook her head and said No. I just had to throw up my hands and say forget it. We come here all the time because it's close, the kids enjoy coming here and it's comfortable. The service is great. That being said, the food is not. Kids Mac & cheese is $5.50 comes with no sides and is essentially a Kraft Mac & cheese cup (add water or milk and presto). My daughter is never full when she's done. I need to learn to order her a side. They do make a good French fry. I know that sounds minor, but with so many diners having soggy fries or overly potatoey, a good fry is a good thing. Friday fish fry is great, I will give them that. Perfectly fried, crispy, and moist. They have malt vinegar available which is rare. Slaw is good but needs seasoning. read more

There are like a hundred other places in the eastern Rochester Suburbs that I would rather eat lunch at, but due to The Log Cabin's close proximity to the business park I frequent while in this area, I am brought to this place a lot. The food is consistent and fresh. Decent variety, with sandwiches, salads, soups, and a few entrées like meatloaf and such. The service is so-so, sometimes it can be a bit slow if it gets busy at lunchtime, but no matter what you can be in-and-out of there in time to get back to work on time. If I had my choice, I would go to Finleys or MacGregors for a quick lunch. But if you're taken to Log Cabin without being asked your opinion on the matter, you'll survive. read more

I have been eating at the Log Cabin for many years now and the best I can say is that it is sufficient. Once and awhile they impress me with the quality, other times it feels like they are just phoning it in. The turnover rate with the staff makes it hard to feel like a regular where they always know your name. I usually order the battered fish fry which is often very good, but this past week was subpar. I'd recommend going on a Friday for fish fry when they are busier because that's when their quality tends to be its best. read more

I stopped by on a Saturday morning during Maple Weekend at Packard Farms with a party of 4 including my toddler daughter. The waitress was exceptionally sweet and attentive, the food was really good for the price, and although the bathrooms were a bit dirty, the restaurant itself is bright and inviting. Do not come here expecting a gourmet dining experience. Visit the Log Cabin for a country dining experience and you'll be really satisfied. My order of french toast was cooked perfectly and the pure maple syrup from Packard Farms was delicious. I've sampled syrups from many local sugar shacks and the amber syrup served at this restaurant was one of the best I've had, plus the waitress was not stingy and brought out a small pitcher for our table. My husband ordered the Greek omelette with home fries plus unlimited pancakes and was really pleased with his food. The home fries were also cooked perfectly which I know is tough to find at many diners. If you're passing through Macedon and are hungry, the Log Cabin will not disappoint. read more

I have been coming to this restaurant for at least 16 years, and each year it seems to get worse and worse. The booths and tables are sticky, the floor is dirty, there are bugs flying around, and the fried foods taste like the oil hasn't been changed in 8 years. If you have taste buds and have standards for cleanliness, this is not the place to go. High prices as well and food quality is not even good. read more

Our experience was disappointing. The service was good. The food was not. My broiled scallops in butter and lemon sauce were tough and chewy (over cooked) and smelled fishy (in a bad way). The corn was also tough and chewy. The tartar sauce that accompanied the scallops (?!) had to be returned because there was a fly in it. It was the worst restaurant meal I've ever had. When it's been so cold, bees haven't been out for weeks and it was a cold rainy day, ie old soup. I under stand diner style shitty good food, this place falls short of both shitty food and piss pour management. Burgers and french fries are great. Pancakes and waffles are good. EVERYTHING else is bad - really bad. Salad is wilted iceberg lettuce. Spaghetti is overcooked. Pizza is gross. The chicken Parmesan is like something from a monster movie! They definitely shoot for quantity over quality. On the plus side, the wait staff are really nice folks and the prices are very fair, so they get some extra points for that. So stop by when you're in the mood for a burger and fries, and go someplace else for anything else. read more
