As a Stout Alumni I have always loved Log Jam. Clean, good service, atmosphere is nice, and their food and drink selection is top notch. I was super excited to bring my husband here as I haven't been back to Menomonie in a while. We both got the English Burger (cause how can you not) with fries and a beer. This is a great place to visit if you are in the area. It does have the college town feel since it is on campus, but had a casual atmosphere and they played good music. They were also setting up for live entertainment as we were leaving. I order the Lumberjack Burger and my colleague the Southwestern Wrap, both of which exceeded our expectations! Terrible service and mostly cold food. Came in with party of 11 for a birthday. Took forever to get drinks, waitress did not come back to check for refills so someone went to the waitress at the bar to request refills. People that came in after us had their food before us. We watched food piling up in kitchen window and sit there 15 plus minutes before the waitress brought refills and we questioned her about food in window. Food still didn't all come at same time and about half of it was cold by the time it did. Waitress did apologize and offered 20% off our food but when it was time to leave it was 15 minutes of discussion and the manager contacted by phone would not stand by that offer. We watched another group sit for 20 minutes without getting waited on and leave. A Grub Hub delivery person at the bar also indicated to us that he had issues with his deliveries. No one in charge and running things. If server was inexperienced someone should be monitoring her service. Kitchen should not have food piled up for 15 plus minutes without getting it picked up and delivered. Kitchen should also be able to get food for a table of 11 out together and on time. read more

Best lunch in ages! There are two food items that I tend to use to judge pub food: fried cheese curds and Ruebens sandwiches. I'm often disappointed, but these were both amazing! Log Jam is one of the best eateries in Menomonie. The food is reliably delicious and the servers and bartenders are always very friendly. A friend and I like it so much that we eat lunch here once a week! Favorites include the lumberjack burger, English burger and French dip. Log jam has a nice cozy feeling environment. Easily one of the nicest places to eat in Menomonie. I would not shy away from it for a date night. The burgers are made with fresh ground beef from a local meat shop and you can tell the difference for sure. Overall they get a thumbs up from me. read more

This is the place in Menomonie for UW-Stout college students to see and be seen. And since most of their clientele is under 23 they also card everyone who walks in the door. That was the highlight of my time at this bar because I've noticed a marked decrease in the number of times I'm asked to present my license when I order an adult beverage. Do you feel sorry for me? I feel sorry for myself. How sad. Aside from being the place where everybody goes, it was nothing special. They had a pool table, dart machines, Big Buck Hunter and large booths that comfortably seated 6-8 people. No waitress service that I saw and inconsistent pours. My first drink was heavy on the rum; the second was heavy on the diet Coke. Their choice in music was also quite interesting and consisted mostly of pop-rap. I'm pretty sure they played at least 3 Eminem songs during the hour we were there. This bar also made me realize how much I've grown to appreciate smoking bans. Before we left, my head was spinning (and not from the alcohol) and my lungs were starting to seize up. Nicotine is an outdoor recreation. I'm officially convinced. read more

As a University of Wisconsin - Stout graduate (I've been out for 2 years) I have to say that I genuinely miss this bar. It's not only a bar but in my opinion has some of the best food in town. Their wraps are magnificent, but my two favorite items on the menu are the Salmon Sandwich and in the winter their chili and grilled cheese really hits the spot. Their nightly specials are pretty amazing as well. Mojito Monday's (and 2-for-1 Tuesdays) were my favorite nights of the week. They have a huge beer selection and have a "Run the Rail" offer, where you get a punch card and if you try each one of their tap beers you get a t shirt. Whenever I find myself back on UW-Stout's campus chances are I'll be making an appearance at Log Jam. read more

I'm a big fan of a broad selection of beer, and Logjam does not disappoint. Their food is pretty good too, so it's a great "dinner" joint, as well as a great bar. I've also had lunch there, as they have a good number of sandwiches. The ambience inside is also nice - lots of wood and a darkened feel throughout, with a long bar. Their patio in the back is actually quite nice - they've tried hard to make it enjoyable, while being in a back parking lot (think high fences, nice umbrellas, and lots of plants/flora). I had lunch there today, and ordered their "English Burger", which is supposedly award winning. I'm not sure why, as the only thing that was different on it than a normal burger was a "special sauce". Plus, the burger was unfortunately a bit dry. The fries were nice though - and they give you a choice of a few different types of fries (or even homemade chips or a fruit cup). I think this will continue to be one of my "go-to" places for bar food or a wide selection of beers. read more

I'm giving this place 5 stars based on the quality of their food, service, and location. If it was in the Twin Cities, it would be 4 stars because the "dining room" area could be prettier. I don't know how they get their grilled chicken sandwich so perfect and juicy every single time. It's among the best grilled chicken sandwiches I've ever had, and it honestly just has grilled chicken, tomato, lettuce, and mayo on it. The buns they use are the best. Also, their fries are addictive, so if you're on a diet then beware. They offer the best drinks in Menom as well. Great beer selection and cocktails! The Log Jam is a pretty typical college-town sports bar that does their best to appeal to a wider audience. They have a varied and ample selection of craft beers and an above average bar menu. I have never been disappointed by a visit to the Log Jam. Order a flight of beer next time you're there, and try out some local craft beers or some beers that you have never tried before. read more

My hubby and I travel from state to state and we eat from eating in the big city to your small country restaurant...this restaurant and the food have always been consistent. Log Jam is another great place to eat in Menomonie. They use a lot of local ingredients and the prices are pretty decent for the quality of the food. I love that you can get fresh fruit as a side and it's actually cut up fruit- not from a can like a lot of restaurants do. I love getting the Buffalo Chicken Wrap or the Salmon Sandwich. They have a patio out back that is great to sit at in the summer. The bar scene at Log Jam is alright. I personally don't think the specials are that great, but I usually go out on Saturdays when they have $4 Long Islands, which is decent if you like them (I'm not a fan). They do have a great selection of craft beer on tap. I recommend the Monk's Flemish Sour Ale if you're looking for something unique, although it is a pricier brew at $5 a glass. read more
