Good little spot in Speculator. Hometown feel, bar on one side of the half wall, restaurant on the other. The kids love this place. Service was good

Came here on Saturday night. There was only one super friendly guy working and he was great! They had a meatloaf special that my brother loved and devoured. I really enjoyed the french onion soup. The caesar salad was okay but that's okay. We were visiting the town for the weekend and this really was the only restaurant in town.

Cloudy day, paddle break, and Logan's on my mind. Darn good Cookin' here. Atmosphere warm and friendly Tavern.

Sorry no pics of the food, but take my word for it, I enjoyed the best Cuba Sandwich ever. There must have been a whole pork shoulder in there - ok exaggeration. Despite I felt like Johnny the 8th eating this fresh pulled pork, ham, gooey Swiss cheese, dill pickle, and mustard. "Take me now oh great one, but please let me finish my Corona & Lime." Logan's came highly recommended by locals and it was indeed the place; fun dining room, pool table room, and quaint bar space.

After hiking a challenging Adirondack Mountain my wife and I wanted to reward our selves with a hearty celebratory meal. On the edge of hangry we stopped at Logan's Bar and Grill in Speculator. As we entered Logan's we were greeted by the manger. He was very personable, welcoming and recommend we sit at the bar because it's a great place to meet and chat with people. We politely asked for a table in the dining area since all we could think about was food and a beer! Our server was pleasant. Took our order and checked on us for drink refills. We started off with a house salad with in-house made balsamic vinaigrette and a French Onion Soup. The soup was fantastic! Not overly salty, perfect amount of onion, croutons and that cheese pull was awesome! I had a cooked to order 1/2 pound Swiss burger with bacon and fries. It was nice to take a break from the Smash burgers that are the sensation right now (don't get me wrong, I do enjoy a double patty smash burger!!). My wife ordered the Eggplant Parmesan. The sauce was home made and tasted great. The eggplant had great texture. We were a bit in awe that this bar and grill served this dish so well. They had a nice selection of New York and national beers as well. We were pleasantly surprised by how delicious our meal was. I would totally recommend Logan's Bar and Grill if you are in the area or just passing by to and from your next ADK destination.

Really good food and service! We had the fish and chips and grilled chicken sandwich. We also had their dessert , crème brûlée and their apple crisp with vanilla ice cream. Portions were pretty generous and everything was delicious.

Food took over an hour for some sandwiches and was cold. The service was slow and overall would not recommend coming here.

I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese on a hard roll. Both were very fresh. The bacon was cooked to perfection. I especially loved the melty white American cheese. I grabbed a blueberry muffin to go. The fare is pretty standard but it is unusually well-prepared for a short order place, and the staff could not be friendlier, even under an incredible crush of customers. The place does have outdoor picnic tables - the inside is a little dim due to lack of windows, if whimsical in the decor, which is mostly jokey signs of the 'unattended children will be given espresso and a free puppy' - well, kitten - variety. Just be forewarned the place does get super busy during the summer season, but it is still there in the other three seasons, unlike a number of other places, particularly in sparsely-inhabited Hamilton County. The place is much improved since our last visit, and one suspects there's been a change of management, so nota bene concerning earlier reviews.

You should be warned…read more(as we were not) that despite the gorgeous barroom attached to the dining room (and the signage talking about wine and cocktails), they are not currently serving alcohol (due to "an incident"). I'm sure it's not a problem for some, but if you desperately need a couple glasses of wine to get through dinner with your children AND your in-laws, you might want to go somewhere else. I feel terrible for the folks running the place, because we also came in on a hot night that everyone else also decided they didn't want to cook dinner at home, and they were SLAMMED. The hostess was doing double duty as a waitress and food runner and they were visibly stressed. Thankfully, they still turned out some damn good food: I had an excellent steak (the strip), the barbecue ribs and fries and chicken fingers kept my little girls happy, and all around our larger group enjoyed what they ordered. I will happily come back, but I might wait until I know there's booze to be had.

Two more groups of people were seated. All of the other 3 groups seated ordered drinks, drinks were delivered and then their meal orders were taken. We waited 5 more minutes - no waitress to be seen - got up and walked out of restaurant at 4:50 p.m. This Is the second time we have come to this restaurant because the chef is a wonderful cook. Our service was poor the first time we came here but we loved the food and wanted to try again. We will never return.

This place has the best ratings for local restaurants and the Long Lake hotel was quite expensive. Wish we would have went there. Ordered a pound of wings for appetizer for table. Eating them along made me wish I didn't come. All the bones of the chicken broke as we ate them, and they were rubbery as hell. Pretty sure they were cooked from frozen, and they tasted disgusting. I got the full rack of ribs. They were OK flavor wise, but the meat was tough and had to be pulled from the bone because it wasn't soft. The "sauce" that came with it was gross. My older son ordered the pulled pork Mac and cheese. He said it was disgusting and could barely finish it. He said it tasted old and microwaved. My youngest got the kid's pasta. The sauce tasted like straight up vodka and was weirdly watery. He enjoyed his "homemade" Mac and cheese, though I'm not sure how homemade it was. Tasted like boxed Mac with shredded cheese added. Finally, my wife had the feta cheese dip and miso soup. The miso soup was fine, she said, but the feta dip--or white water, as she called it--was also disgusting. And to top if off, we paid $112 to eat what we did. We will NEVER be back to this place. Try elsewhere. This place will only disappoint.

They are still going through their soft opening period with an abbreviated food menu at the time of this posting. A larger menu is upcoming. The food menu offerings include appetizers, salads, burger & sandwich plates, bowls, chicken entrees, pork tenderloin, coconut shrimp, pierogies & kielbasa, filet mignon, ribeye steak, kids menu, and desserts. The pricing seems pretty fair, most entrees in the $12-$21 range with a few in the $26-$40 range. The place has a laid back rustic barnhouse atmosphere with dim lighting with seating up at the center bar in front surrounded by high top tables and booths, flat screen TVs on the walls, and a back dining area with regular tables. The bar offers 6 beers on tap, wine and mixed drinks. While driving along US 20 through the farm country of Schoharie County, I stopped in for dinner at Fancy Farmer in Sharon Springs. The place was moderately busy on a hot Saturday evening. I headed up to the bar and took a seat. The bartender gave me a food menu and I requested ice water as I made choices. I started out with Pierogies (4 for $6.50 plus tax) which came out hot, 4 pan fried potato filled Polish dumplings with sauteed onions & sauerkraut and sour cream. These oily firm pierogies were really great and I enjoyed each bite. Next, the Low Country Shrimp & Grits ($17.95 plus tax) was a modest portion with soft stone ground grits smothered with a creole sauce, Gouda cheese, andoulle sausage slices and three grilled very firm seasoned shrimp, no tail and cleaned. This Southern style dish had a nice spicy flavors and the grits were not too hot. I was all set after finishing my food and got the check which was $26.41 with tax and before tip. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal with good service. The bartender checked up on me asking how the food was and offered refills on the ice water. I would definitely return to Fancy Farmer once their menu is expanded and can't wait to taste what they'll have to offer.
