The Gallery of Functional Art and Lois Lambert Gallery is one of my all-time favorite galleries & gift shops in the country! In business for over 30+ years, the Lois Lambert Gallery has everything from museum-quality paintings, sculpture, and mixed media to affordable gift shop items for anyone's budget. Don't visit LA without making a special trip to check out this great mom & pop business in beautiful Santa Monica. In fact, the metro rail stops right in front of their location so it's a super convenient pitstop before hitting the beach, Santa Monica Pier or 3rd Street Promenade. Check out the beautiful art piece below I bought from them years ago - not a day goes by that I don't get a compliment on it. Thanks Lois for having the vision to open this gem decades ago and for supporting the arts!!

Ever walked into a gallery and thought, all that wonderful art but even if I could afford it, what am I supposed to DO with it? That's where these guys come in. Fabulous functional art you can not only afford, but actually USE! Think large scale paper lanterns a la Dune, moulded chairs from recycled post-consumer product, found item mosaic framed mirrors, lucite clocks, golden pig piggy banks, one of a kind jewelry, vases, hand forged silverware, sublime ceramics and table top accessories galore, all the way down to the little things like unique stationary, wrap and cards. This is the ultimate toy store for any art appreciator, full of limited edition high design items and a fabulous spot to find a great gift even the pickiest of peeps will thank you for over and over. And since it's attached to an actual gallery in Bergamot Station it's a great opp to check out the less accessible eye candy, too.

Super unique artsy gifts!

BAM = Beer, Art & Music, a perfect combination on a sunny afternoon. 18th Street was closed off to provide parking for food trucks & bicycles. I saw The Green Truck there, as well as Border Grille. 20 breweries donated beer from booths set up in a private courtyard flanked by galleries, where 4 bands provided live music. I only had time to stay for an hour, so I missed all the bands except Speedway (alone worth the trip from Redondo!). The event was packed but very well-organized. A bike valet was looking out for the crapload of parked bicycles. Maybe the reason I had no problem finding a spot for my car was because so many people rode their bikes. Beer and music were included in the price of admission ($35 advance, $40 at the door). All proceeds went toward funding spaces for artists to work & show their work.....a very good cause. The arts need support, especially in rough economic times. The festival attracted a great crowd. Despite all the free-flowing beer, people were upbeat without a hint of rowdiness. I love a good party on a Sunday afternoon and I'm guessing I'll be back next year when I will try to allow more time to hang out and enjoy the day.

Cutting-edge and timeless art by brilliant local and international minds. The curation of the 18th…read moreStreet Arts Center Events is absolutely world class! In a city so often known for it's monetary focus, the center refreshingly keeps it's focus on the art and artists themselves, refusing to become blinded by art world commerciality.

His delicate hand ,great eye, plus volumes of knowledge on the subject is Insurmountable!! The price he gives me is always fair, the workmanship Is solid. As stunning as the glass selection is, the owner, Adamm is a the true gem of this place! Knowledgeable, kind, and happy to take the time to share his wisdom and love of glass with his customers. He was absolutely lovely and delightful! I must also mention that I was honestly pleasantly surprised to find that his pricing is super fair and reasonable. I thought that a little gallery like his, especially in Santa Monica, would have to have inflated prices, but his were some of the best I've seen, even compared to pieces being resold online. My husband and I came in here on our anniversary and left with some divine little pieces that will always hold sentimental value for us! Adamm made the experience so memorable and special! I highly recommend this shop to anyone and everyone! If you are not already a glass enthusiast, this gorgeous shop will turn you into one! I absolutely love it and cannot wait to go back!
