Tiato is a great spot for lunch while at my office in Santa Monica. It is tucked away in a corporate bldg for Lionsgate and the patio is so lovely. Make reservations because the place fills up quickly over the lunch hour. The patio is where it is at. No idea if there is parking -- we walked from our office at the Colorado Center. It had been a while since I had been here and they have added to their menu. I love the bowls and that you can make your own by picking the base (noodles - rice or vermicelli, rice -- jasmine or brown), choose a sauce (garlic lime, peanut or sweet chili), adding a protein (tofu and mushroom, chicken, pork, beef or shrimp) and finally you can add a topping (crispy onions, yams, leek crisps or pesto) -- those are $.75 extra. My bowl was so delicious -- I had the Tofu and Shitake mushroom bowl and it was so delicious and fresh I wanted to lick the plate. I also decided to try a black sesame latte -- it was ok, not as good as I wanted it to be. There is also a little kitchen for a quick take away meal if you don't have time -- if you never went to the bathroom you might not know it existed because you have to walk through the restaurant (from the patio) to see the take away section. I discovered Tiato as it was our work's go-to lunch spot for business lunches and it's a total gem (subsequently it also showed up in an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm!). They offer a contemporary Asian menu consisting of pho to beef burgers, so it's something different from most restaurants in Santa Monica but still offers a selection for everyone. Though the indoor seating offers a ton of tables and several booths, my favorite spot has always been on the outside patio. It's an oasis of greenery with a fire pit - a great spot if you want to host an event! They also have an underground parking lot with free validation. Website says breakfast at 9a. At 10:45a I was told breakfast was served at 11a I asked about the coffee being organic and the server at the register did not know. He said he was very busy. I've been here multiple times for work lunches and it can be a bit hit or miss. Sometimes the service is really fast and sometimes you're waiting awhile. They also change their menu a lot so if you have a favorite item it may not be there the next time you go which can be a bummer. They do have a really nice outdoor patio which is lovely on a sunny day to get out of the office. I will say they have my FAVORITE gluten free chocolate chip cookie of all time, it's so big with tons of chocolate chips and they warm it up. I could eat one every day. read more

We came for the Friday happy hour, and were immediately pleased by the pleasant aesthetic of the outdoor garden and patio. Our server was very friendly and served us delicious drinks from the happy hour menu. My friend had the Sicaru and I had the Rose' Sangria. While the Happy Hour menu isn't large, what we did have was quite yummy. Appetizers included 5 corn fritters, and 5 bacon wrap dates with manchego cheese filling. Came for lunch and it was very empty which was a bit concerning but I guess more attention for our table. The menu is south East Asian inspired I think but with a local LA twist. So I got the a juice which was made of apple and carrot. Refreshing but a bit pricey at $7 for the small. Then I got the chicken rice bowl which was a grilled chicken with what tasted like a Vietnamese fish sauce with a side of pesto rice. Reminded me of Vietnamese rice plates you can get (com), but again with that LA twist which made it taste lighter and fresher. The meal was good, nothing was bad but also nothing was stand out. First of all, I want to say that I cannot believe I haven't heard or been in this place before it is so beautiful with the outdoor patio seating and the inside is so beautiful as well. They are not open on weekends. They hold private events on weekends, management Alejandra and staff were so amazing. Great service great food. I highly recommend this place. Walking by you couldn't tell that this place is actually huge inside...there's like a little market inside selling all kinds of yummy gourmet items. This restaurant's existence boggles the mind. It claims to be Asian but there's no way you can tell from the food. The Vietnamese coffee is a total riot. The dishes that were okay, keep worsening. The staff is nice and try their best. The outdoor space is perfect for a lunch. But will someone please tell me what is happening in the kitchen?? Gorgeous location to lunch or supper at... my friend Drew and I had a great time here today. Great atmosphere indoors and outdoors. We were able to snag some last min Valentine's Day resies same day and it was practically empty which we loved because we are pretty introverted lol food is farm to table like which is also our favorite. Healthy yet delicious. They had this blackberry honey mocktail that taste like it came fresh out of their garden. Tiato has changed their menu and I am so sad. The Shaken Beef Bowl is no longer an option, and the amazing Garlic Noodles (which used to be a secret menu item) have now been swapped with 'Tiato Noodles' which are some bland, slightly buttery noodles. This might sound good, but is so far fom the amazing noodles that used to exist on this menu. The ambiance and servers are all still lovely, but there is very little to excite me on the menu anymore. I never knew this restaurant existed. Thanks to the Fall 2023 roll out of Dine LA, I was able to discover Tiato, in Santa Monica. This is a Vietnamese eatery that has an airy and inviting indoor and outdoor dining area. The vibe is very relaxing, the music pleasant and the service exceptional. I sat outdoors for 2 hours, amongst a gentle breeze and calm ambiance of beautiful surroundings. The lunch Dine LA menu is $35 but if you go on a Friday (like I did), it is their Friday Bruch menu for $45. And let me tell you, it was worth every penny. I started with the Ahi Tartare. It came well presented with avocado, mango, shaved cabbage, mint salsa, red Fresno chilies and large chips of puffed sesame rice. Every bite oozed with refreshing taste and freshness. To choose the main was tough. Since I was looking for something different, I opted for the Morning Catch. This consisted of turmeric sole filets, with potatoes, fried eggs, hollandaise and brussel sprout florets. The dish's arrangement and plating was superb (see my picture). The flavors and textures complemented this well prepared item. All the food portions were full size. Came here for the last day of DineLA (1/24-2/7) only to be told by the server, Cesar, and manager, Sergio, that they weren't serving DineLA lunch only dinner on Fridays and that DineLA made a mistake. Really? And the manager only knew this on the LAST DAY of DineLA?? Yep. His social media person didn't even notice the mistake? Nope. Mgr then went to check to see if they had any banh mi and never came back. After waiting a while, the server came and asked if we were ready. We said we were waiting for the mgr who was checking to see if there was any banh mi. Our server said, "Of course, we do!" What the hell happened with the mgr? We ordered the pork belly banh mi (a little heat but good) with garlic fries (delicious) and pho with fried tofu. I'd expected more perilla like I'm used to. After all, tiato means perilla. Everything was delicious. I used my online $10 off coupon which I showed our server. We sat inside the draped court area which had a lovely ambience. There's a back area where you can buy their wonderful, thick, hearty homemade cookies. Good service. Street parking or paid parking in the structure next door. We still had a delicious meal even though we were disappointed to miss our DineLA lunch which we had last year. I came years back with some co-workers and had a good impression. So I decided to order lunch. They had free 15 minute parking just outside and you can pick up with a $25 minimum order. I ordered the chicken banh mi. This is not your typical banh mi with the roasted chicken and where you can taste the flavors of the grill. But rather, this was a more subtle rendition using white meat chicken breast and lightly pickled vegetables. It's a stark albeit more healthy contrast to the usual. I also ordered the wellness bone broth. Unlike your pho noodle broth, this was very light in comparison with similar flavors. What was great about this was the aromatic fresh lemongrass herb and kafir lime. That's a combo you can't really beat. Finally, I ordered the golden tea latte. They use Harney and Son's tea, which I've become very fond of. I like the subtly sweet tumeric spice blend in almond milk. Overall, it was a great meal, but don't expect the typical Vietnamese flare. Was able to dine for the relaunch of their Brunch Friday's.. they have bottomless mimosas and other drinks to choose from. I tried the coconut breeze and hubby had the hibiscus drink made with Uncle Nearest whiskey.. I ended up liking his drink better than mine. We had the shrimp spring rolls.. it was a light appetizer served with dipping sauce. I loved that they were served with lettuce that I made into a taco to avoid a mess. First - the food is delicious and the setting perfect for a wonderful meal. We used them for a rehearsal dinner of 40 and were absolutely impressed by Tiato! We spent quite a lot of time looking for a location for my daughters rehearsal dinner. Many friends suggested Tiato as a perfect location as it has a lot of beautiful spaces including a great outdoor space and wonderful food. The proposal we received from Tiato was so professional, thorough and thoughtful. I was very impressed in my dealings with Stephen Cisneros and knew it would be a fabulous event. We had the most wonderful tasting before selecting our final menu and everything was so good, it was difficult to choose. Stephen and his team went out of their way to make sure our evening was special including providing microphones for speeches, a lovely set-up and, most importantly, amazing food. The passed appetizers were delicious and beautifully presented. Stephen had great suggestions for timing of the event. Easy parking was included and the prices were fair. I appreciated that adding a specialty cocktail (we picked a wonderful berry margarita which featured fresh pressed blueberry, lemon and lime juices) was only $7.50 per person in addition to a reasonable bar package. Checked out Tiato for the first time this week and it's a really cool spot! They offer indoor or outdoor seating with table service or you can order at the counter and grab your own seat. The place has an awesome design with a spacious indoor area with a bar and a sunny garden patio with umbrellas which is perfect for nice weather. And it's tucked away in a relatively uncrowded area giving it a nice quiet and serene atmosphere. Definitely a bit of a hidden gem for West LA. Tried Pork Belly Banh Mi and the House Cheeseburger, both were delicious. The cheeseburger was on a soft, toasted roll that wasn't too bready which was great and the bahn mi had a nice slight kick to it. WOW! I cannot say enough good things about my experience at Tiato. My first visit was a week prior had another event. Today, I suddenly found myself with an emergency need for an event space. I was lucky enough to remember Tiato when a cancellation of my organized venue (due to a scheduled protest near the bldg.). Tiato was more than happy to save the day and organized my party move from the previous location in DTLA to their location in S.M.. They picked up the ball in making the birthday celebration run smoothly and on time. They literally had just a couple of hours to accommodate this party with a 360 photo-booth! Everyone had a blast and we're all still talking about. What a beautiful venue, what great food, and what a fun and helpful staff they are. I look forward to having my next event at TIATO and, in fact, I'm working to plan it now. Stephen was the organizer and did a fabulous job. Visitinh my daughter in Santa Monica I needed a place close to her work as she only had 30 minutes for lunch. Tiato was across the street so easy to get to. I did not have reservations but was quickly seated. They offer a beautiful garden exterior seating and indoor dining. It was unusually warm and the interior provided a very cool AC respite from the hot sun. I mentioned that I didn't have much time. I ordered the chicken sandwich and ban mi sandwich both with fries. The chicken sandwich was extremely tender and flavorful. The pork in the ban mi was also tasty but the bread a little hard. They were fats, friendly and was able to get in and out in 30 minutes. I am so upset that this is my first time ever dining in! I have ordered to go from Tiato a few times since Covid. But today was my first time dining in for brunch. And let me tell you, I am beyond happy. I am so happy with my experience, and I cannot wait to share it with other people. First off, the restaurant is so freaking gorgeous. It is a literally a walk in Garden. So beautiful, with lights and all. Unfortunately I didn't get to go for the night lights, but I can't imagine how it looks like at night time. I love the breeze when you sit down, and it doesn't even matter what he what you're sitting it. The environment is just overall welcoming and welcoming. SOOOO BEAUTIFUL! The staff was great. The bartender, was super friendly. The manager was super sweet. And our server was amazing. Gabriel was the sweetest person ever. He was super fast, super talkative (great thing), and super honest. He recommended us the salmon Benedict, and it was great. I absolutely love his energy and vibe. The food, surprisingly the food was really good. Usually when it's just affordable, and the restaurant is this beautiful, they slack in the food area. But everything was so good. I ordered the Vietnamese ice coffee and it did not disappoint. My fiancé, who came with me, said it was the best burger he ever ate. And that it restored his faith and all burgers. Ha ha ha ha that is kind of cute and funny! Overall our experience was fantastic. Let me tell you!! This place has the best burgers ever!! I was definitely impressed. I also did add some an egg on top and that took it over the top as well. OK so now that you know how I feel about their burgers, let me tell you about the rest of their menu. Everything was just really really good. They actually come through all the way. The presentation of the food, the presentation of the servers, the presentations of the restaurant, and the presentation of the restroom. Everything is a 10 out of 10. I know this place is an Asian cuisine, but usually when restaurants say that, they don't deliver. But my fiancé is actually Vietnamese And today she ordered Vietnamese iced coffee, and she said it was good. Trust me she's really really picky when it comes to her coffee. Especially if they're Vietnamese. And she said they delivered. So that's really good to hear because now I get to come back.... For my burger of course.
