Most other places train their employees to go through a routine and nothing else, but that's not the case here. We always leave here feeling refreshed. I think it's important for customers to first let them know how strong or gentle you want your massages to be. They're not mind readers.

Less pressure on each leg, it was ok, but wouldn't have minded some more pressure on my calves and hamstrings. A hot towel but no stone/rock massage. Flipped over with some light massage on chest/stomach but limited. Head/scalp massage (I asked) was nice and very relaxing. Then some very light massage on arms with very light massage over the sheet on each leg. So 1st visit, it was just ok. Not a 4 out of 5 so I was slightly disappointed, but the main issue was I felt shorted, the massage ended at 4:05. On the way out I asked Megan and she insisted we started at 3:05. I wasn't going to argue but word to the wise, set your timer at the start of the massage. I have a place I use on the west side that I've been going to for years, and always leave relaxed and satisfied. I wanted a place on the east side but not sure this will be it. This place always has same day availability, which is wonderful, and is not nearly as expensive as high-end places which makes this an ideal choice for "oh god, I'm hurting, I need a massage" quick fixes. I usually get a couple's hot stone massage here with my partner - so getting in last minute in extremely impressive because its accommodating two people, two massage therapists, and having a couple's massage room. The massages we get are great - the hot stones are wonderful; the massages are targeted and helpful.

Unfortunately, today will be the last day that my boyfriend and I will be there. I'm unsure if who I had was new but the receptionist seemed to be my masseuse. She left the room 8 times during my 60 min. massage and when she got back to the room the second time, she had pressure on my calves and held it there and while doing that, I felt her other hand texting!!! Not only that, she asked me if I wanted medium or hard at the beginning of the massage and I asked medium. When I tell you that was no where close to what I wanted and was waiting to speak up to request her to go softer, she ups and leaves the room again to check people in or whatever she was doing. The massage felt rushed, rough and borderline disrespectful. I felt like a dirty laundry pile every time she moved my body to a certain area or threw the sheet back on to cover a part of my body. She didn't even ask if the hot stone was ok and she actually rubbed it on my back for less than 20 seconds rushing it through. THEN, when I laid on my back- she was so rough that the sheet kept on moving further and further down that my left nipple was almost exposed and she didn't even fix it!! All she said was, "all done. Thank you" and I fixed myself before she opened the door. She was like a person who is too good or have done this for too long that she got complacent and didn't care what was happening to the client. The best part? She kept asking for cash for discount which is fine and I told her I'm waiting for my boyfriend since he'll be paying. I didn't know my boyfriend went to the car to get cash but he told me he told her and she didn't explain anything and kept telling me to sit down to wait and the way she gestured it was like there was no trust. I told my boyfriend to tip $10 each (we usually tip $20 each) and when he handed her the $20 cash for 2 masseuse, she said "that's it? For 2 people?" Yes lol. What do you expect? Oh, and my boyfriend didn't even get hot stone. @Lomi Lomi- Every time we went here, we didn't mind the noises from people coming in or by neighboring stores. I'm unsure who this person is, but this needs to be fixed. The treatment, lack of etiquette, atmosphere and everything else was by far the worst experience we've ever had. What should be a peaceful and relaxing massage, was actually the most stressful and painful massage I've ever endured. Please train your staff better.

My…read morejob takes a toll on my muscles and if I didn't have the care I do here, I'd be in constant pain. I've seen a lot of the therapists here but Alyssa is my favorite by far! She listens to what you are looking for (if your shoulders have been stiff, or if you want a relaxing massage that day), she's really strong, and very skilled at making knotty muscles behave! I love that I can ask her for the sciencey-answer to what she's doing or what muscles are locked up; it empowers me to learn more about my body and how to care for it afterwards! The spa itself offers convenient online booking, it's very clean and peaceful (and looks down onto the ocean!), and their customer service is top notch. I use their Wellness Plan option, which offers a year of monthly massage appointments for a slight discount. Love it!! I hope this place stays here forever. And the fact that it's right beside the ocean means that if you want to continue relaxing after your massage, you can just walk downstairs and sit on the beach.

I would go back solely for future facials with her :) The massage: it was by a girl named Jennifer. After reading the reviews I'm saddens that I got a newbie vs. Marisa. It was the worst massage I have ever gotten. When the masseuse came in to meet me after I had spoken to the esthetician she was not warm - and bland. I told her I wanted deep tissue & to not be gentle. It started off ok, but as she got further along I thought "did I pay for a massage or merely to be inadequately rubbed with lotion". You know the massage isn't great when you're left laying there wondering when it's going to be over and it feeling like it's taking forever. I have had better relief when getting out of a long shower. Total disappointment ... :(
