Lola is a gem of a hair salon in downtown Geneva. From the beginning, you're greeted and welcomed and made to feel comfortable. They will talk to you about what you want and not force a style on you. They'll learn about your habits so they'll know if a style will work for you. I love the funky decor, and Katherine has done wonders with my short hair which I thought was hard to style. She showed me how to style it so I no longer have one good hair day a month (salon day) because I can replicate my 'do at home! Their products are great - my hair has never looked better - and they are very eco-friendly. This place rules. First, a confession: I've been dying my own hair for years. The last time I went somewhere to get my hair done I left in tears - the chick totally ruined my hair. Fast forward years later, my hair is in need of a cut and color and I just didn't feel up to it. A friend of mine told me about Lola ( specifically Meghan), and I was feeling saucy and had a babysitter, so I called and booked an appointment. I ended up getting there too early, so I got some work done while I waited. It has a nice cool vibe there, and they feature jewelry to buy from local artists - how cool is that? Meghan is an adorable tall irish chick. She may or may not be an elf from Lord of the Rings. I'm not sure, because her skin is flawless and i'm pretty sure she doesn't age. She's a lot friendlier and happier than the elves from LotR though, so who knows. I told her of my past experience, and she made me feel comfortable right away. As I sat in the side room, tin foil in hair, hair cooking, thinking of the movie Signs, I got to sip a glass of red wine. I didn't even have to smuggle it in, they have wine for their customers. After your hair is rinsed out and shampooed they put conditioner in and then cover your head with a hot towel to help the conditioner soak in. While the hot towel is on you get a hand massage. The hand oil they have is awesome, it soaks in right away and made my hands feel super soft. As someone who constantly applies hand lotion, I was super impressed. After my hair was rinsed out I got to see it - and I loved it! It was exactly what I wanted. I felt SO relieved and happy that I went to Lola. As Meghan finished up by cutting my hair I watched the digital frame on her desk. The slideshow included Christine Hendricks and Karen Gillan, so Lola immediately gets 100 points for including Joan AND Amy Pond. I love how my hair turned out, and it's all thanks to Meghan. I'm so glad I decided to go to Lola and didn't let that other place deter me from all salons forever. Meghan, you are a lifesaver! If you call to book an appointment, ask for her, she rules. Everything about Lola is exceptional. The decor is unique, colorful, inviting and just plain fun. The stylists are very very good at what they do, and that's for men, women and kids. Our haircuts are so much better than anywhere else we've been. The stylists take the time to really shape our hair instead of just trimming it. There is a noticeable attention to customer service and hospitality. When you walk into the salon, they offer beverages, to hang your coat, and to make yourself at home. They even have hot chocolate in the winter with various fun toppings and stir-ins. It's is apparent that the owner, Gina, strives to have the best salon in the area. read more

She steered me to the Olaplex treatments for my hair, the best haircut to minimize the damage and got my hair on a healing path. I found this fantastic little salon two months ago when I was looking online for a new stylist. I didn't specify a certain stylist when I called, knowing that they would give me to the new girl/ guy, which they did. I have very long hair, and although I'm aware that it takes a long time to get the hang of working with locks of this length, I figure everyone deserves a shot. I've now visited Ali twice, having received haircuts and highlights, and just today she gave me a dramatic style change. She's done a lovely job both times, and I cannot gush enough about her. I have never had an experience even close to this. Comparing this to other very fine salons in town, this one stands Head and shoulders above. Pardon the pun! The owner is truly gifted and a real artist. The atmosphere is unbelievably artistic. Everything is clever and beautiful and fun and upbeat and of modern. The staff is so welcoming and warm and so professional that you will wonder how you have ever tolerated being anywhere else. Wow! Tried Lola for the first time today and was beyond impressed. Came for a corrective color--which is the scariest time to try out a new salon-especially a WEEK before my best friend's wedding with nearly neon red hair. Not only was my stylist, Tiffany, able to put me at ease instantly with her competence and obvious expertise--my hair turned out absolutely gorgeous and she 100% maintained the integrity of my hair--silky, shiny and the color is perfect.
