Found this cute gift shop while at pier 39. They have a good selection of fun items, lots of pop culture stuff. Priced fairly. They have a little basket with "thought cards" for $1 and they're so adorable. I bought the cutest postcards, $1 each, such a steal! The place wasn't busy at all, but it was closer to closing. Never knew there were so many LOLA shops right near each other. I've been to the Ghirardelli Square location before and had a good experience, but I was glad to run into this particular store at Pier 39 this past weekend, as I liked the atmosphere and variety of offerings much more. It's located on the pier (Unit E-1), right next to the Magic Shop, an ideal fit for this touristy area. (Yelp seems to be just as confused by the different locations, and is currently grouping mutiple store locations together in one listing). LOLA at Pier 39 offers lots of unique knickknacks and gift items, weird stuff, clever quotes on apparel and in books, and of course souvenirs galore, especially for the SF tourist. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and efficient with the service at the counter when purchasing my items here this past weekend. It's certainly not too early for christmas shopping, and they offer some cute stuff for kids and babies here. I took advantage of the Pokemon variety for the nieces and nephews. LOLA is known for their greeting cards too, so of course I also picked up a funny rabbit-themed card before leaving. read more

Cute shop of curios, gifts. Was on the lookout for a simple possibly cute drawstring bag to keep my iPad, iPhone, wallet & lip gloss as I was told that my tote bag looked like a homeless... So now I will just look kooky using the only bag of its kind, a black cat drawstring bag I found at this shop for 25.+. Looks kid size. There were some novel items for kids too. Saw some adult pouches, tote bags, that use pardon my Language words or slogans... Saw s really cute bag with big eyed kitties on it... Of all the shops inside Ghirardelli Square - this one was my favorite. It's full of so many pretty and fun and quirky and unique things I wish I had a deep enough wallet to get them all! Granted, prices weren't all that crazy for a giftshop in this area. And there was a ton of colorful kids gear. First of all, we love this store. We often go eat next store at Palette Tea House. We been here countless of time, staffs always been nice , helpful and friendly. Until today, this older asian lady(we are chinese) was working by herself (she looked like she has ownership or the store or what not). But her attitude and service was beyond unacceptable. I understand you could get frustrated during busy hours, I know. I waited until you were bit free to ask you a question for sizes. Instead of leading me to where the sizes are, she was rude she replied with "they are over there at corner, just look urself". Once i got to the corner, trying to find what she was telling me. She came over with a mean attitude telling me Not to touch the other stuff.. excuse me lady, first u weret being nice to me , u didnt try to help but u came all the way from the counter to correct me without trying to help me!?!? This asian lady is straight racist, she was real nice to all other white customers in the store. Its crazy how american asians can hate on their own kind. Boycotting this place for life. The store looks cute from the outside but didn't really get to shop thanks to the tiny angry Asian woman with glasses. Friday evening, around 9pm and I just brought a cup of hot chocolate next door. As I was drinking and starting to walk in (yes, I momentarily forgot about the mask, I don't venture out often enough these days to be used to a mask and had a brain fart)... SHE rushed up to me and literally growled, snapping about something needing to something, I couldn't hear to be honest.. I just see her snaring at me and I waltzed back out. If I was reprimanded or asked nicely, obviously I would understand and mask up (assuming that that's why and not the hot chocolate, or maybe it was both). Meh, I recognized a client's goods all over the store and wanted to take a gander. He already (wholesaler) shipped me some of the goods (and I'm not the only one, he's just that type of person, very nice, unlike that worker who "greeted" me). read more

This is probably the most upscale souvenir shop I've ever been to, not just in San Francisco. Not only do they carry many SF-themed souvenirs like the fog globe (~$30) and some small DIY sheet metal models of cable cars and the Golden Gate bridge, they also carry a large selection of culturally relevant greeting cards and kitschy everyday stationary. The salespeople are super outgoing (good or bad, depending on how much you feel like saying about your hometown/state/country), and were open to giving recommendations for souvenirs. read more

They have an amazing selection of cards here. They're all unique and a lot are handprinted or letter press. Think Papyrus but more hip. The selection of toys and knick knack gifts are adorable. This is my all time favorite store in SF to grab souvenirs when I'm in town. The staff is super friendly and more than helpful. During my last visit this past weekend I paid for a Tote bag to bring back as a souvenir for my mom, somehow it didn't make it home with me. When I was being rang up it was busy so I figured the cashier maybe forgot to put it in my bag, I emailed the store explaining the situation and they were more than helpful assisting me and rectifying the situation. I've always loved this store but more so now that I know first hand that their customer service is 100%. read more

What an adorable store! I was on a quest to find those lego candy bricks without having to go back to that Tully's store with excessively slow service. Alas, no lego candy, but I still stayed a browsed for quite a bit. One side of the store is devoted to greeting cards, the middle to journals and other small things, and the other side of the wall is has "gift" things-- things you'd never buy for yourself or your own kids as they're splurges but would be very happy to receive. There are plenty of quirky gifts, including some seriously adorable baby and toddler items -- like baby girl t-shirts with motorcycle graffics, the plushest brown/blue or brown/green or brown/pink blanket I've ever felt, and this great alphabet puzzle in the shape of animals. My favorite "gift" was a book entitled: "The Gas We Pass, the Story of Farts." Wow, I would feel so special if someone gave that to me. Bwhahahah! read more

Lots of fun gifty-type of things, like funny baby onesies ("I Pooed" on an i-pod graphic), a few of the higher-end SF souvies, and tons of awesome cards you won't find anywhere else. I left with some hi-quality SF stickers for my scrapbook, a pretty SF bottle opener for my fridge, and a nice writing pen. The woman at the counter was friendly, they played some fun music while I was in the store (Taylor Swift and some old school Hillary Duff). Minutiae aside... Lola shall forever have a special place in my heart... Because it was at Lola's that I first became acquainted with my new favourite, and possibly most hilarious, greeting cards. I carefully trawled the greeting card display with my eyes, looking for the characteristic font and picture, indicating an Uncooked card. I read every single one in the store (I have never laughed so hard in a card store before in my life) and left with three birthday cards. Never mind that they were intended for birthdays one month, 3 months, and 6 months away. When you find that perfect card, you just know it. And if you don't snatch it up right away, you will regret it for a lifetime. Amidst the trawling, I also happened to find quite a few other quality/meaningful/amusing/appropriate cards. Anyway. I now know where to pick up a belated birthday card because we've all been there and forgot but at least Lola's makes it comical and acceptable. We got a SF ornament for the tree and we saw this ornament all over town and Lola's had the best price by $4.
