First time here at this restaurant,gotta I just love the atmosphere and how adorable the restaurant is. The food are delicious.

We ordered the chicken and waffles w/a side of bacon and stuffed Nutella banana french toast. The waffle tasted similar to the ones you'd get for free at a hotel and the chicken tenders were crisp and juicy but lacked a unique flavor. The French toast was mushy and not as flavorful as we would have hoped, too much banana, not enough french toast and Nutella. I would've given 3 stars for the food alone but because our service was utterly lacking I had to remove a star. Before we got to the restaurant we scoped out the menu so we were ready to order immediately. Our waiter, NOEL, took our drink and lunch order at the same time, we saw him again when our food came out, and then never again after that. Well we saw him around the restaurant chatting with coworkers but not actually tending to his tables. We had to stop another waitress just to get our check to leave. All in all we probably won't be back, if you go I hope your service is better than ours. read more

The food was okay. Had a steak and it was cooked right. But ordered dessert crepes with strawberry and Nutella and it was definitely not Nutella. It was something like Hershey's chocolate sauce. Not good at all and for the price they were, it was not expected. There was a live DJ and it was super loud. This review is long overdue. My first time going to Lolita's was on Valentine's Day. My husband made the reservation but failed to communicate to him in advance that it was a fixed menu. I always like to look at the menu in advance but their website was down. We get to the restaurant and despite that we made a reservation, we still had to wait. They give us two menus- the regular menu and the Valentine's menu. Nothing in the Valentine's menu looked appetizing, so we ordered through the regular one and the waitress said that it was a fixed menu. We told her that no one told us when we made the reservation, their website was down, and no one told us when handed the menus. Her response was, "well it was on our Instagram". No offense but I'm not going to take the time to follow or look up a restaurant's Instagram when their website wasn't even working. We walked up and left but decided to give it another try later in the week. We had a better experience, even the manager apologized to us. So we decided to come the week after for my birthday. It was a 30 minute wait initially, perfectly fine. 30 min later... nothing. We call and they say it will be another 45 minutes!! I told them that we have already been waiting for 30 and they told me to hold. They said they would give me another call in about 15 min. 15 min later... no call. I waited another 5 min and called and they said that they were clearing our table and that it shouldn't be more than 10 min. At this point, I've been waiting for an hour. On my birthday. I waited 10 more minutes and at that point I just gave up, because it was late and everything was closed at this point so I wound up going home. Hungry. Disappointed as hell. On my birthday. I called to say that I wanted my name off the list and the girl simply said, "okay" and hung up. My husband wanted to go for our one year wedding anniversary and I laughed because this restaurant already ruined my first Valentine's Day with my husband, there is no way in hell I'm going to let this restaurant ruin my first wedding anniversary too. Got take out from here last night. My husband's lobster taco and tuna carpaccio salad were amazing he said. I got the Mexican Chicken Tostadas and they were absolutely awful. The chicken was so bland and flavorless the best way to describe it was if you boiled a chicken breast and shredded it and that's it. Not a single seasoning to be found. The cold thin black bean spread (flavorless), bland flavorless chicken, and small 1 slice of avocado per tostado definitely didn't amount to the cost. I ended up eating only one and couldn't even stomach the rest. Would not recommend ordering those at least. read more

My boyfriend and I had been wanting to try Lolita's Bistro for over a year but plans always seemed to change when we were going to go. We finally decided to give it a shot just to see how good this place actually was and we left disappointed to say the least. If I had to describe this place I would definitely say it's overrated and over priced. First of all, the service was terrible; we got seated quickly upon arriving but shortly after that 2 more groups of people arrived and they got served before we did. We had to ask the lady greeting people at the door when we were going to be served because we were literally just sitting there for 15 minutes. We also had no idea what menu to look at... we just figured it was the online menu but no one came and told us exactly how things worked there. After 15-20 minutes of just sitting there we finally got our waters and my boyfriend ordered a Diet Coke and that took another 10-15 minutes. The waiter came back empty handed and asked if we had been served completely forgetting that he had already came to our table. We were looking around at everyone else and our table seemed to be the only one not being served properly. Besides that the biggest disappointment of all was my boyfriends plate. He ordered the Steak and Frites because he absolutely loves steak and he asked for it to be cooked medium but it came back well-done. He described it was very chewy and lacked flavor. He didn't complain because he simply does not like sending food back out of respect for the chefs, and out of respect for the restaurant and the waiter my boyfriend still left a tip even though I felt it wasn't necessary. This place came recommended by a Laredo airport employee. When I arrived, I realized I had been here before. Smallish dining area - about 20 tables and a bar area. Dimly lit with Bossa Nova music playing a little loud. I was allowed to seat myself so I chose a table for 2 booth combo. Comfortable. Two tables down were two elderly couples. I kept catching extremely bright flashes of light out the corner of my eye emanating from the senior table. All four had their iPhone flashlights ablaze to read the menu. Too dimly lit - obviously. One of their phones rang very loudly. Apparently the eyes were not the only thing going. The gentleman had to show everyone sitting at the table who was calling before answering the phone. Anyway, back to the review. I ordered the short rib plate - again based on the recommendation. A generous portion of meat arrived atop a bed of mashed potatoes and mushrooms. Two perfectly wilted asparagus stalks hugged the ribs. After taking my first bite, I wanted to hug something. It was INCREDIBLE. Hands down, the best meal I've had in Laredo. I ordered a house cab to compliment the meal. Good choice. I will recommend this dish to everyone I know that will be eating in Laredo. Thank you for cooking on another level. read more

This place blew me away. Especially for all the other places I have attempted to eat at in Laredo. This is my favorite by far. I would like to drive every weekend just to have Sunday brunch, lunch, dinner, all the above. However that's quite a drive from Austin. Lolitas you have a forever customer in me. I will always make sure to come here when i visit. I will certainly recommend to any one i know headed that direction. Modern decor, with happy hour from 4-7 Eclectic menu with burgers, seafood, and tex mex...I know it sounds scary to have a restaurant do each of those well, but LB was spot on. I had the ribeye and it was so juicy and tender. My party gave rave reviews on the chicken salad sandwich as well! Clear your arteries of cheese and beans and give in to Lolita. read more

Although I have only been there twice, it will be a regular stop for me when in Laredo. Lolita's easily, easily is the best restaurant in this town. People coming for work our out of town, ignore locals. It's strange but most locals have horrible taste and this town doesn't boast many great restaurants. I'd say Anise, Lolita's and Border Foundry are great along side Taco Kissi and Zaragoza Grill but other than that there isn't much. Lolita's is great. I've traveled the world and all of the US and Lolita's is consistent great service. Had multiple parties here and great food. This city is blessed to have Lolita's! read more

Good atmosphere, good food and friendly service, I got the chicken crepe and it came with some kind of green sauce covering it, very much like a Mexican dish vs a crepe, but it wasn't spicy at all, and the flavors all paired together very well, so even though I didn't get what I was expecting, I got something good. My 6 year old son is on the spectrum and is not great with public places. He makes a yelping sound to help calm him when he gets social anxiety. Aside from rolling her eyes constantly and clearly judging my parenting, Our waitress decided that it would be funny to mimic and laugh at my son with another waitress. I asked to speak to a manager and they did not have one working and I ended up having to speak to the head of the kitchen staff whom apologized and offered to have the tab covered. As we were walking out the waitress came out and insulted my intelligence and swore she was laughing and talking about her weekend with peer and the head of the kitchen staff came out to ask us to pay the bill because he was not able to get a hold of the manager and didnt want to have to pay for it himself which was fine, money is no issue but disrespect is. This is not the first and sadly will not be the last time an ignorant person makes fun of or judges my child, some disabilities are not visible. Things are hard enough as it is with things being the way they are in the world. The last thing we need is rude, ignorant, or disrespectful people putting down others when they are simply trying to enjoy a meal. read more

The food was excellent. I highly recommend the burger and the chicken strips if you have a child in tow. However, I do not recommend bringing children. It's a nice, quiet, low-lit restaurant. Perfect for date night or even dinner with the hubs after a long day, but leave the toddler at home. I stumbled upon this gem while on a business trip in Laredo. I honestly wasn't expecting much but I was blown away by the ambiance, quality of the food and the great service. The waitress was very friendly and helpful answering any questions I had about the menu. I ended up getting the spinach and artichoke dip for appetizer, scallop risotto for main course and the brownie berry trifle for desert. This was our last stop before heading home. The atmosphere was full of life. From the beautiful paintings of Frida on the wall to the laughter and commotion by the patrons. This is definitely a place where friends come together to socialize and enjoy each other's company. Their menu selection for both food and drinks was quite nice. I'm a big chicken and waffles guy so I was sold when I saw it on the menu. The chicken had great breading but was bland. The waffle was too dense every bite I took was dry. The syrup seemed to be the only item bringing any significant flavor to the dish. I was sadly disappointed in it. However, the chorizo chilaquiles were amazing. I love love love their sesame peanut crusted tuna stake. The portion is huge and the sauce is soooo good. Their wine list is short but sweet. Great prices by the bottle! A fantastic lunch spot, but also good for dinner. It's a bright atmosphere with friendly staff. I have ordered a wide range of menu items typically from their lunch menu and they are always on point. As far as cocktails go they are very good and creative. The cocktails are unique and well made and you can see the fresh ingredients if you sit at the bar. Placed an order for the 12 oz ribeye "Steak Frites" and was very impressed with the customer service because I did have a few special requests with my order. I got home and weight my steak (because that's just what I do for dietary purposes) and it weighed out to 7.5 ounces. When I took off all the fatty pieces from the steak (Again, that's just what I do for dietary purposes) the steak had an end weight of 5.7 ounces. While 19.00 isn't expensive at all for a 12 oz Steak Frites, I do think it is expensive for less than half of the advertised steak, which by the way was severely under seasoned and poorly cooked. I asked for a table to seat 10 people on a busy Saturday during brunch for a couple of friend's birthdays and they went out of their way to seat us with only a short wait. The food is always very good and consistent. Sweet potato fries are a must, our group ordered a variety of items and everything was really good.
