rock candy

got a $10 bag of liquorice spirals that were hard as a rock, they are supposed to unravel all the way but it ripped after an inch. Tried to buy Laffy taffy too and they were 4 dollars each at a gas station they would be 75 cents. Plus they charged for a shopper mint, when I never even took a free sample. Moral of the story it's over priced and stale better off ordering from amazon or going to a gas station.

This is a totally unique store. Customer service could be better. Everyone was busy stocking along with one on the phone They do carry many old time candy but there are other stores in the mall that do carry similar merchandise in it's own unique way. Plus side of the store that it makes every thing look upscale Compared to the other candy stores in the mall.

The lady working (clark) was extremely nice and welcoming. She made me feel more like I was hanging out with a friend then buying candy.

After Maggie I.'s UYE at Vanguard, I was standing outside of this store talking to Tim K., when I…read morenoticed a sign on the step outside the door. It read "penny candy." I had a flashback to my childhood, walking home from elementary school and stopping at the small store on the corner to buy penny candies and other goodies like banana flavored Now & Laters or candy cigarettes. I had to go into that store. Luke R. and Rachel F. were walking by. I pointed out the penny candy sign, and the four of us went in to explore. We found video boxes on display, shelves of candy galore and a fridge with sodas, not a commercial fridge but one like we'd have in our homes. I felt like I went back in time. I think we all did because we giggled and bounced around the store like we were kids! Did I buy any candy? You're damn right I did, and I'd go back and do it again!

What sorcery is this place?…read more And what year is it? And where I am? How have a I not stepped foot into this penny candy + DVD + pinball haven stuck in some sort of completely different dimension before? I mean, it's basically right next door to the Vanguard... It wasn't even on Yelp. I had to add it. Had a blast looking thru all these old-timey candies w/ Rick + Tim + Luke. They had those styrofoam-y UFO things that seemed questionable, sixlets, candy cigarettes, bubble-gum cigars, all the lemonheads/boston baked beans/etc. you could think of and so much more... Also: DVDs, if you're into that sort of thing. Also: pinball, if you're into that sort of thing. Also: a doll collection behind the counter, if you're into that sort of thing. I'm not really sure how this place still exists as a business, but hey! I like it. It's weird. Good stuff, you guys.

Date of visit: July 28, 2025…read more I stopped in here as I am leading an effort to find local vendors that we can order from as part of a holiday gift effort for some of our customers. I perused the store and selected brittle, taffy, and chocolates as part of a taste testing for the whole team to determine which items were the best to consider as gifts for our customers. Staff was friendly and accomodating, and even offered me a sample after I completed my purchase. Oddly, despite spending about $70 and explaining what I was doing with my purchases, I didn't get a receipt. I dropped an email to the store and received a quick reply and was provided with a picture of the receipt that was quite small and blurry, though thankfully our AP department didn't question it too much and I still got reimbursed for the purchase! And if you were wondering, the taffy was surprisingly good, but wasn't labeled on the package in terms of what flavors were in each bag, so that was a big turn off for our taste testers. The chocolates were a big hit and will be a finalist for our customer gifts!

We love to check out boutique confectionaries. Chocolates can be a tricky business, so finding one…read morethat checks all the boxes is an amazing experience. First time stopping in here. I read about Burke moving in to this Whitefish Bay location, so I wanted to give them a try. I really wanted to give them the highest rating, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Super cute shop. Has a nice old time feel to it. Walking in to the place, you find a large selection of many different confections. The "factory" is at their other location downtown Milwaukee. Got greeted by two friendly staff members. Very helpful at explaining the different items and offered to allow me to sample (I did have one piece of the peanut butter crunch). You can either get individual items from the case, or there are pre-packed items on the other walls. I got a mix of different items. Ones that I have found can be a big tricky to make. Fairy Food, Marshmallow, and Caramel. And to be honest I was a bit disappointed. Summer can be a hard to time to make/keep sponge candy (fairy food), and some places don't even make it this time of year because the humidity can make it sticky. Marshmallow has a short shelf life and can get tough. This was exactly my experience with these two items. The chocolate itself was very good. And the presentation was also very impressive wit the other items. They did wrap up everything in attractive cellophane bags with ribbon, and placed in a gift bag with a custom ribbon. Perfect for gift giving. So overall a good (but not great experience). I would stop back again, but keep away from some of the humidity sensitive items.
