A tosa staple! Joy always hits the spot, love taking family here when they visit the area. The cutest shop with the best ice cream flavor, fast service & lots of seating. What could be better?
Very cute ice cream shop in Tosa! They make their own waffle cones in-house, and you could taste how fresh the cone was. They have lots of ice cream flavors (hard scooped) that I believe rotate. We got served right away at the counter and they have an outside walk up window too. The inside was cutely decorated and is a must stop for anyone of all ages.
Joy Ice Cream is such a fun local spot! They had a makers and vintage market with everything priced under $15 as a special event with the Heirloom food truck. It was a great way to bring the community together. Their ice cream flavors were unique and delicious! I got Raspberry Rhapsody and it was incredible! Flavorful, creamy, but not too rich nor overpowering. The employees were all friendly. The decor was colorful and inviting with plenty of seating outdoors. I would return and recommend!
I had been wanting to try this place for a while and finally made it to try their March lucky shake. My dad was with me and tried a vanilla shake. I loved my shake and the inside is adorable! I also sampled an ice cream flavor while I waited for the shakes to be done. My dad said this was the best shake he's had. I will definitely be back.

A north Avenue in the heart of Wauwatosa ,Joy ice cream is a place to check out while you're there. The service was fantastic. Do yourself a favor and go grab yourself some ice cream!
I've been wanting to try Joy Ice Cream for the longest. It's a very nice place and has a nice amount of seating outside but none inside. They do get very busy so be mindful of that. They do indoor or outdoor serving. The workers looked at me funny (as did the cashier when I was ordering) when I was inside and didn't realize that they were only taking orders from outside (there was a sign I just missed it oops). Paid $12 + tip for a cone and a 1 scoop dish. I had the blueberry cheesecake (I love anything + cheesecake) and I honestly was not much of a fan. The ice cream itself tasted like milk, no sugar or anything and I could not taste the blueberry. The cheesecake however was good and there was a good amount.
We were looking for an ice cream treat to bring my nieces to and we realized Joy was just a few miles away from Firefly Grove Park. They had quite the variety of flavors for us to choose from, some classics I recognized from Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream too. I got two scoops in a cup - one of Zanzimint and the other with Superhuman. Some other orders in our group was a root beer float, more scoops, and some shakes. While they had plenty of seating, I wish there were more spots with shade for those particularly hot summer days!
I really had high hopes for this place and wanted this to be special for my daughter's birthday. Unfortunately, it did not hold up on a 10 minute ride! In air-conditioning! Especially for the high-end price for chocolate shoppe ice cream for a tiny 6 inch cake that I thought was going to be mostly ice cream but it was mostly cake! Very disappointed and wish I had gone to Dairy Queen. Lesson learned it's a lot of marshmallow fluff a lot of chocolate cake and some kind of soft, white fluffy marshmallow topping under the cherries, which did not hold up at all, and it was drooping down the sides. $38.23!!!$5 was for sugar numbers that are not even candles!
We love joy. This place is not only an ice cream but also a community hub. Always fun to visit with my son and meet up with friends.
Absolutely scrumdiddlyumptious. If I could eat here every single day I would. Not only is the ice cream super good it's also adorable inside and out, including the bathroom with ice cream tiling!! The staff were sweet and accommodating. I got the blueberry cheesecake and it was great, I'm excited to try different flavors. Oh and they sell little doggy ice cream sandwiches which my dog (Crabcake) throughly enjoyed.
I drive by this place and fell in love. It's a newer shop, 2023 opening, but has the charm and character of an older ice cream place. Every order you make is a good one. They seem to have a rotating array of options. Service was good, it was a couple of teenagers who were speedy with the orders. Again, I recommend and think everyone should stop by Joy Ice Cream once in their life.
I had to come here to try Lucy Bakes' collab with Joy and it was worth it! The staff was great here and spent time making the treat. There was marshmallow cream on top followed with a mix of red velvet cake & cookies and cream ice cream and at the bottom white chocolate. The shamrock shake was delicious and cute with lucky charms on top. I found out they have ice cream flights for $9 that comes with 4 single scoops, and I plan to come back for that! It's small inside but looks like plenty of outdoor seating. I get why it's called Joy ice cream because I definitely left happy!

I was greeted by a super friendly worker who served up the best vanilla bean Ice cream in a homemade waffle cone (that was to die for and I don't even like waffles)! We talked briefly but I was definitely enchanted by the service and the food. The shop itself is small and so cute that it just invites you to sit for a while and forget about your day. I wanted to stay there and dawdle. I wanted to dream about lazy days on the beach, skateboarders, and sunny romps in the sand. Was it the ice cream or was I under a spell? Hmmmm? I'll never know but I definitely felt the "joy" of the spirit of the place. The server was joyful. The ice cream made me joyful. The location exudes joy! The waffle cone made me giggle with joy! It's a happy, ice cream social place where you'll experience JOY! Drop over! Take a friend. Leave your cares behind. Everybody needs a little joy in their life -- why not have a little ice cream in a homemade waffle cone too!!

One of the best in MKE! It's completely worth any hype someone might give them! They have one of the best waffle cones out and also offer a nice array of flavors. They are so willing to help you try different flavors until you find the right one! In addition, the ice cream is so fresh and creamy making there ice cream one of my favorites in the city! So on a nice day worth sitting outside on their patio and enjoying a nice ice cream from joy! read more

Excellent service, tasty treats, and just a great vibe as always. We enjoyed the outdoor seating and had a dish of the strawberry hibiscus sorbet (amazing), a waffle cone with the brownie cascade (so good - the cones are fantastic), and maybe a warm chocolate chip cookie too. :) read more

We absolutely love Joy Ice Cream! The owner does so many creative events and has so much unique ideas for different menu items, there is always something fun and new going on at Joy! It is the perfect place to spend an evening, the staff are so friendly and the vibe is so welcoming. 10/10 would recommend Joy to anyone in the area! read more

I love a good ice cream spot! Joy's used to be a gas station apparently... the now ice cream shop is so cute! It's a walk up window with surrounding tables to sit and enjoy your treat. There are a bunch of sidewalk blocks on one side of the shop for kids to color on with chalk. My husband and I went for our first time on a Friday night. Even though it was drizzling, no one seemed to mind. It was still a perfect hot night for some ice cream. There was a pretty long line, but it moved real fast. They had over ten flavors to choose from. There may have been even more earlier in the day. They also have a variety of drinks, including alcoholic beverages for sale. Although a couple flavors caught my eye, I ultimately went with the espresso. Oh myyyy do I loveeeee it. It is probably the best coffee/espresso ice cream I have ever had! My husband got the bubblegum flavor and was happy with it. The service was fast and friendly. We will be back! I need more espresso ice cream stat. read more

5 STARS!!!! The most adorable local ice cream shop around. Was visiting from out of town and couldn't wait to try this place out. Every time we drove by, it was PACKED! After trying their Peanut Buddy Oat Cream, I know why :) walked here on a Sunday afternoon and boy are we glad we did. Parking is sparse and mostly whatever you can find lining the neighborhood. The most unique flavors and CUTEST BATHROOM!!!!! Adult beverages for the parents and an outdoor section for private parties. I'm so jealous this place doesn't exist in other cities! read more

Adorable little local ice cream shop - honestly exactly what this area of Wauwatosa needs; a family-friendly little spot to hang out and enjoy a treat. The inside is very small with all the ice cream laid on the left, a few little merch options, and a variety of older games/trinkets. They have options for both alcoholic and NA drink options ranging from wine to premixed cocktails. Their decor is absolutely adorable, and the staff was very friendly offering up samples and answering questions. They even had vegan options! I had to knock a star off for lack of indoor seating/standing areas. We came on a rainy day and had to awkwardly stand by the bathroom to eat our ice cream. There are tons of tables out front and back, but it isn't conducive to visit and stay on anything but a sunny day. read more
This is such a cute spot for ice cream and a hit in the summertime. They have a small indoor area with a little shop and activity area, as well as an expansive outdoor area with lots of seating a a walk up window! The menu is full of delicious ice cream flavors of a variety of options, including non-dairy. I enjoyed the blue moon oat in a cake cone. It was made well, not at risk of falling apart as some other ice cream shops do, and the ice cream was delicious. The service was great, fast, and friendly! read more
Very cute ice-cream spot! Casual and friendly neighborhood shop vibes. They serve Chocolate Shoppe ice cream. We enjoyed the Yippee Skipee (peanut butter with chocolate & caramel) and Raspberry Cheesecake so much and would highly recommend those two flavors! Rich and cream, sweet but not crazy artificially sweet. The cone is also big, crispy and yummy. We will be back to try more flavors haha. read more

Stopped by Joy during their soft opening. They did a great job reviving an old building in Tosa to a cute ice cream shop. The ice cream and waffle cone was really good. Look forward to seeing the finished product when the patio and everything is finished! read more

Nothing beats a nice scoop of ice cream after a long, warm day. The staff were incredibly welcoming, ready to offer their expertise on popular flavors. The space that Joy Ice Cream occupies is perfect for families, passerbys, and pets! Just a note: would come for a good time, just not the best ice cream, there are plenty other stop shops for that. read more
Joy Ice Cream is a new delicious social gathering on North Avenue in Wauwatosa. It's the old gas station now remodeled, very cute & welcoming. When you walk up, you can smell the hand-made waffle cones. I usually order mine in a dish, but I couldn't resist & it was a great choice. I ordered the espresso latte, which contained caffeine, a nice afternoon pick up. I did have to use the restroom, which was clean & creatively decorated with cones. This is such a great addition to Wauwatosa. read more

I've been wanting to try this super cute ice cream spot in Tosa - and so glad I did on a warm night! Their menu rotates which is fun. Lots of creative flavors and a good amount of non-dairy options too. The whole family got a cherry chocolate chip ice cream - delicious!! Wonderful texture, great flavor. Service was great and the space was adorable (even down to the waffle cone tiles inside!). I can't wait to go back. read more
