I felt like a kid in a candy store... I've visited a few times, it's always enjoyable, quick and easy. It's smaller sized but packs a punch with the wide variety of things that they have from candies, nuts, jelly beans, and more! They also have various limited edition candies for the holidays. I find their prices very fair and great values compared to regular stores. They often have candies that you can't find in store either. Not pictured but they had cute tins you can buy and put candies or chocolates in for an additional price. The staff are always very friendly too! I hear the owners/family has very deep history in Milwaukee as well! read more

Half Nuts has been around forever but yesterday was my first time. We were in search of hard candy for MIL and we found a tremendous variety . Not just flavors like mint, root beer, butterscotch but pretty much everything - even things like huckleberry and clove flavors. Don't have any pictures to share, but it is a small store that looks like Willy Wonka on steroids. There are so many varieties of candy. I love that there are sweets from every era of my life. Many years ago, this was my go-to place when I bought chocolate cigars to hand out when we had our children. The chocolate was good then and is good now. I'm not a fan of cheap chocolate, so Half Nuts does not disappoint. It can get crowded, especially close to a holiday, but if you grab a number, they will happily help you with your sweet or salty (lots of nuts) needs. I have visited this store on two different times. The gals are not friendly and very condescending when I asked a question about their product. The candies very old and stale. What you'd expect. Bulk nuts and candy, and classic candy bars. Nice helpful staff. Unfortunately all the chocolate has dairy in it though. They were the best at enforcing mask-wearing that I have seen in months. As I was looking at the rice crackers, someone walked in without a mask and they kicked him out. Solid 3.5 star experience. Reminds me of how Illinois Nut company started out in Chicago. With a small store front but a more than ample offering of assorted candies both new and old, jellybeans and jellies, chocolates, nuts and more. I was dropping off a family member at the airport nearby and had some time to kill. I walked in thinking I would be spending a few dollars on nuts and maybe a taste of chocolate. However my father was with me and once he saw the assorted jellies, gummy bears and offering of Cadbury chocolates his desires got the best of him. I should note that with using a smart phone to check in via the Yelp app you can score $2 dollars off a $10 dollar purchase or $5 dollars from $25. These offers have expiry dates by the way and may not be available for long. As far as cost I thought most candies and chocolates were priced okay. Nuts were as costly as what you'd expect at a supermarket. There were some assorted nuts, pistachios & chex mix like varieties of snacks on special. Those that are on special are better priced than an average grocery. Most of their snacks can be purchased by weight, so that is a plus. The nut shop has parking and shares it with a beauty salon on its side. read more

WHAT A GEM! I did not realize I had such a fantastic candy store so close to my house. They have literally anything you could imagine wanting. Only like banana Runts? You can buy them in bulk. Looking for gummies that are shaped like sunny side up eggs? They have them. Everything from Necco wafers to Harry Potter chocolate frogs. Oh, and like a million different flavors of jelly beans. When I was there, there was a group of people who drove in from Minnesota because this was the closest place to them that stocked a particular candy they like! I love this place. I am a candy addict and they have everything. I threw a baby shower for my best friend, and one woman recommended sixlets in pink and silver instead of M&ms. Such a hit, I've gone back to get red, white, and blue for work federal holidays. My mom and aunt love their licorice, my sister loves their sour patch kids. They are ridiculously cheap compared to most candy stores. Williams-Sonoma sour candy is $15/lb, thy average $2-5. Two years ago a slight mishap happened with shipping. I called and the store wound up charging me way less bc of the computer error. Good customer service goes a long way. I love this place. Mary runs a tight ship and her staff is knowledgeable and friendly! Awesome combination. Half Nuts is part candy museum and part candy store. My sons, of course were stunned by all of the candy and couldn't seem to take it all in. My husband and I meanwhile were like 2 kids, well you know the rest. Lots of "oh my gosh, remember these?" and "I can't believe they still make these". And all the while, the 2 ladies behind the counter answered questions about the offerings. I went into Half Nuts over the busy holiday season and was very impressed with the operation. I was expecting it to be busy (and it was!), but the service was excellent. The staff greeted me immediately when I arrived and they helped me locate many of the items that I was looking for. When more customers entered the location, other staff were quickly on the scene to help them. The quality of the packaging and the products is top notch. It is much better than the nuts and candy you find in bins at the grocery store for sure! The prices seemed very competitive with overall value that exceeded my expectations. I firmly believe in supporting local as much as possible and Half / Nuts is definitely a place I'm happy to support. Very helpful, pleasant customer service here. Perhaps quite literally the best candy selection you could ever ask for. There are things here I've never even heard of before! Examples: I had no clue m&m's came in specialty colors nor had I ever heard of "hot" candy before. I'm not of the age that recalls the classic candy shoppes from back in the day but I envision this store is exactly that. They do special orders on ocassion, offer gift boxes and delivery right on their website. They offer candy, seeds, nuts and ice cream. It is by far the most delicious store around - and I'm not that big of a "sweets" person. Re: staleness; I've found very rarely this is the case & it can be disheartening should you encounter it but you have to remember some items may not be as popular as others and may stick around a bit longer than they should. Having said that, the easiest way to avoid this is if you're unsure simply ask for one tiny sample. I only tend to do so if something is new to me, personally. Tl;dr I'm a fan! read more
