We brought our son (under 2 years old) in for his very first haircut today. As many parents can probably relate to, he was terrified and cried almost the entire time. Despite the challenge, the hairstylist who worked with him (Mrs. Nara) was incredibly patient, kind, and professional. She never lost her composure, took her time, and ultimately managed to give him a very nice haircut. We were very grateful for her efforts and made sure to tip her. Unfortunately, our experience with the management (Mrs. Yong) was the complete opposite. Throughout the appointment, the manager repeatedly gave us attitude because our toddler was crying and making it difficult for the stylist to work. And, unnecessarily reminded us that we would still have to pay because the stylist had spent time on the haircut--even though we never questioned paying. The most disappointing part was the lack of understanding and empathy. Instead of supporting the stylist and helping create a welcoming environment for a child getting his first haircut, the manager made us feel like we were a burden and needed to leave because the shift of the stylist was finished. The hairstylist deserves recognition for her patience and excellent work. However, the manager's behavior was rude, unprofessional, and completely inappropriate for a business that caters to young children. This was our first time taking our one-year-old son, Shahan, for a haircut, and unfortunately it was a very bad experience. The stylist clearly did not know how to work with children and showed no care or patience despite my son crying and being scared. She handled his hair very roughly, pulling it aggressively just to cut it, with no attention to his comfort or safety. The result was extremely poor -- uneven and messy, with one side much shorter than the other and visible scissor marks. It honestly looks like a child cut his own hair. For a place that presents itself as a children's salon, this level of unprofessionalism and lack of experience is unacceptable.
