It's affordable. Because of this, make sure you have time to wait and maybe don't go in hungry. It took about 1.5hr from cut to wash and blow dry but what a difference! New year, new do! A friend referred me to Dzung. I called to make an appointment which I highly recommend because Dzung is a busy guy. I wanted a balayage and cut. But with the language barrier, we went with highlight, color, and cut. I showed him a picture of the color and cut it wanted and not much time was spent on that. During my appointment several people walked in and he accommodated every single one. So the bleach for the highlights sat in my hair for over an hour. Then he added color to the non highlighted parts. Took another walk in. So my hair sat with color for over an hour and bleach for over 2 hours. I've never had my hair sit so long in color and bleach before. In the end, the color was more of an auburn when the photo I showed was an ashy brown. My scalp was pink and a bit irritated as others mentioned. However, I thought the color looked good on me. As for the cut, it also didn't match the photo and definitely had more layers. It also looks good, but it's shorter and thinner than I would of asked for. In retrospec, looking at the yelp photos, we can see his signature style is the layers. It's now a few weeks later, and I realize my hair is dry, frizzy, and easily tangled. Maybe because my hair is fine and couldn't handle the long processing times. The big positive is the price. Men's cut is $25, women's cut is $40, and color is $120. It is very accessible pricing. And another plus is the hours and days of availability. Every walk in that came during my appointment was very happy with the results of their cut. read more

Giving Dzung 3-stars for the following: Went to Dzung's beauty salon to get a layered haircut by Dzung. Pro's: -flexible availability -fair pricing -accommodating -kind Cons: -Dzung did not wash my hair before the haircut even after letting him know I had moose product in my hair. This was unsanitary and harmful to my hair as it was blowdried that way. -Dzung started to go live on Facebook without asking me for permission. He did however stop as soon as I shared my discomfort. -Dzung did not use heat protectant in my hair when blowdrying it so all you can smell was burnt product of the moose and the leave-in conditioner he drenched my hair in. -Dzung at some point was leaning his body against me while cutting my hair and it felt uncomfortable. -Dzung kept insisting that I buy a leave-in conditioner even though I had already said I was not interested in getting one at the moment. -Dzung did not measure the layers from left to right to make sure they were evenly matched. Overall the haircut turned out well but the service and quality could use improvement. Dzung is nice and I appreciate his work but I also write honest reviews of what also matters. I would not recommend for hair dye. The hair cut was not bad but I showed him a picture of how I wanted it dyed and that's where I went wrong. I wanted highlights and showed him a picture of Mika Abdalla from off campus. And now my hair is dyed from root to bottom one color. And the roots are lighter than my ends. I wanted to cry and I did when I got to my car. Don't got for hair dye stuff if you go. Now I have to figure out how to fix my hair by tomorrow and I'm so stressed out. Now I got to spend more money to fix this hopefully they can be fixed. Edit: it would've been nice if he offered to fix it also but when I told him about the mistake later he just said I could go in and pay more for it to be fixed. Which is extremely disappointing. I recently got this haircut and overall I'm pretty happy with it. The length sits nicely around my shoulders, which makes it easy to manage day-to-day without feeling too heavy. I came here because I read so many great Yelp reviews about this stylist, so I decided to give him a try. The haircut price was very reasonable, which I appreciated. When I arrived, he was coloring one client's hair while another client was waiting for a haircut. He stopped working on the color client to do the haircut before me, and the client with color was left waiting the entire time. After finishing that haircut, it was my turn, while the color client continued to wait. I asked for long layers, and during the appointment my hair kept getting tangled as he was combing through it. Instead of handling it patiently, he seemed visibly frustrated, making an annoyed face and letting out an audible sigh. Once he noticed that I saw his reaction, his demeanor changed quickly, but by then I already felt uncomfortable. The overall interaction wasn't very friendly or welcoming. Felt like he was rushed when he was cutting my hair, he had 3 clients waiting for him. My layers just dont look good overall . I have to go somewhere and try to get my hair fixed The haircut itself was reasonably priced, but customer service is just as important as the final result. I mainly needed a trim because I haven't had a haircut cut in a year and had so many split ends which he was able to help me get rid of.
