YELP, YELP, YELP!!!…read more After a service call by a Advanced Appliances' technician, a sum of $661 + tax was QUOTED to replace the circulation pump in a Bosch dishwasher and replace the gasket in a Bosch washer. I made a deposit of $347.02. That same day, I phoned the tech asking for the missing breakdown on parts & labour and became uneasy with his information so decided to cancel the washer repair. That same day, I left messages on the tech's cel and spoke to the office receptionist and a man (the owner, Tom?) who both confirmed the technician was notified of this cancellation. When the tech arrived to install the circulation pump he advised me, casually resting his hand on the box, that there was a mistake in pricing...it was actually $100 more than quoted. His indifference was most likely due to the fact that I had already invested $347.02....but... I insisted on a refund. After denying that he could do this, the tech finally complied and gave a refund, less the $75 initial service fee (AA advertises a free estimate) and the RESTOCKING FEE for the circulation pump. He graciously relented and didn't charge for restocking the Bosch gasket. This Advanced Appliances' tech claimed the owner Tom lives in Kelowna and they have only met once. The tech does not know Tom's surname. This company seems to work at arm's length hiring sub-contractors & collecting/distributing calls for service in Victoria, Kelowna and the greater Vancouver area. I initially contacted "Advanced Appliances" through their well designed website. The quotation I received was on an "Advanced Home Repairs" letter head with no address or GST number. My VISA sales receipt noted "Advanced Home Repairs" in Abbotsford, B.C. ONE DAY LATER.....THERE IS MORE TO THE STORY..... Monday morning I phoned Reliable Parts to check on the cost and availability of a circulation pump for the Bosch dishwasher SHU66C05UC/23. I was advised that this part has been DISCONTINUED and there are no alternatives by other manufacturers. So....what was in the cardboard box?

I called and spoke to owner Tom who immediately started selling me his company (fair enough given he's the owner). He said the call out fee was $75 and if we decided to go ahead with the repair, the $75 goes towards the cost of the labour costs. Tech Adrian came out, pulled apart the dryer within 2 mins, and said a part attached to the motor had broken and needed fixing. He then started a sales pitch as to them not carrying the 'standard Samsung' part which was already in the dryer, even though they claimed to specialize in Samsung equipment. He said the part is more expensive but unlike other companies, they offer a 1 yr warranty on the replacement part. After the install, he said the total cost was $350.70 inclusive of tax. I was like 'Are you fckn kidding me??' (In my head). The total time to replace the part and remove lint from the dryer and spray WD40 inside took 30min max! Given we had no real choice, we paid the $350 as I believed from Adrians sales pitch that the part was quite expensive. I've looked online, and the same bracket/idler pulley install costs between $10-$80. Now, several months prior, I had 2 electricians come to my house to install 6 ceiling fans/lights. It took 4 hours at $$40hr per electrician. This was the same price as one dryer tech for 1 hr max!! After researching the part and calling other companies, I decided to contact Tom for an invoice break down, as it wasn't when we paid. After calling 4 times, and having the poor receptionist be made to lie to me that Tom would call me back in 30 mins on 4 occasions, I finally stayed on the line for 20mins on hold while he spoke to me. He immediately started raising his voice, and yelling on the phone. I couldn't even get a remark in. At times he also swore at me, and then quickly apologized as he was 'getting angry'. At no point did I raise my voice, nor did I swear at him. It was obvious he'd had numerous similar complaints as he kept referring to other customers and saying 'Your just like the fucking rest of them'. I told him my concerns, and he began yelling at me saying "You've never owned a business, I know you haven't, so you'd have no idea about the costs" and "We don't charge by the hour, it's by job" even though he lied on the phone when I booked it. The invoice wasn't itemized, and Tom refused to provide a reasonable response as to the breakdown. I work in law enforcement and a former Formwork Carpentry supervisor who ran multi million dollar construction sites, and at no time have I ever paid this much for a service, nor have I been lied to, ran around and spoken to so rudely by a company boss as Tom. I eventually hung up as he was screaming on the phone. He then tried to call back and talk inn a calmer voice, to which I ended the conversation and said, "It's okay. You run your business, and I'll leave the appropriate review". He further advised me the Better Business Bureau was a corrupt organization who takes $$$ to have reviews removed from their site. He also threatened to sue me as he had 'lawyers for people like you.' Long story short, don't use this company. They lie, they're extremely expensive and they provide the worst customer service in the history of companies

So when we moved out to abbotsford we went in to try and furnish our new house. We went in for a couch and love seat. The sales staff were all very friendly and listened to what we were looking for. Let us take material samples to make sure the colors were what we wanted. It was very low pressure sales. We looked at the end tables and they mentioned a buy more save more event so we held off and purchased them when the sale came on.

We went in there and they let 2 dogs in the store in front of us. They had treats on the able AND a water dish on the floor no sign saying no dogs and the fact that he let other dogs in and on the floor mine couldn't even be in my arms in the store. He said since they knew about that tiger who got covid and tried telling me someone was given covid from a dog. I had told him that it can NOT but still kept him outside. He was waiting for my mom who went in the store too and he was crying outside cause he wanted to be with her. How dare they be so rude And disrespectful to customers. We decided to NOT buy from either store even though they had stuff that we liked. But why go back to support rude ignorant people. Things should go back to normal for my dog before I come back! I posted photos of his crap work on his FB page and he quickly deleted them. I have posted the same photos of his poor work on another review and they are there for all to see. Be cautious when dealing with this individual, he is misleading and not the technical nor professional that he claims he is. Very disappointed in in the work and his unethical practices. Terrible experience and calling names to his customer really goes a long way in the promotion of a business. I could have bought a brand new trailer for the amount he charged.

She took the time to listen and learn and didn't try to upsell us. Eventually her "boss" (husband actually, so who then really is the boss? ) came and helped her do the final deal. They were more than willing to bargain, I'm a Dutchman, and a bargain is a #1 requirement with me and we worked out a great deal. Turns out "the boss" really was the boss, as he was part owner in the business. I was able to do a great deal with him that saved my daughter a bunch of money. The furniture we chose was locally made of REAL wood, not partial board. It is a very pleasing design and they delivered and set the whole room up too and took away the packaging. If you're looking for new furniture you will not be disappointed, shop local and get personable old fashioned service with a smile and a handshake. Places like Ashley's, Leon's and The Brick haven't got a hope of matching the pleasant experience we had at Fraser Furniture in Abbotsford.
