Came here for Londonlicious with a dear friend of mine! I ordered the ceviche, smoked salmon trio, and the cheese and fruit board. We were dearly craving the roasted apple featured on their online menu before, but it turns out that the apple has been replaced with the homemade mulled wine and biscotti! Meanwhile, she ordered the Londonlicious autumn salad, the vegetarian toasts, and the creme brulee. While the food wasn't drop-dead amazing, the service was great! I had attempted to get a reservation the day before, but was told that they were fully booked. When we arrived, they had originally wanted to seat us down at the bar, but after considering it, they offered a table for two that we would have to return in an hour. That being said, we never felt rushed in our meal - they never hinted at us to leave, even when the other couple who had made the reservation arrived Instead, they sat that pair down at the couches, and asked us politely if it would be okay to give us the bill now. They were very friendly and considerate (and thus, the extra star)! Our appetizers came first, and we were quite surprised at the small portion sizes. My ceviche was tiny! The cracker/chip was well-done (very crispy and tasty), but there was very little tuna - just very little to eat in general. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her brie at first, but then found it overly heavy after a while. This was a recurring theme, as it turns out all their vegetarian options have brie (she's vegetarian). Our entrees came next, and again, I was quite shocked at the smaller portion size. That being said, I found it adequately filling, and I was actually fairly satisfied by the end of the main meal! The smoked salmon was delicious! My absolute favourite was the pickled onion one... the slight sourness balanced out the saltiness of the salmon perfectly. The raspberry compote was good, but a little too sweet. I was excited to eat the caviar one, but found that they added too much of the herb garlic aioli. I believe there was some dill and/or cream cheese in it, which drowned out any flavour of the caviar/salmon completely! This was my least favourite, because it was quite heavy. My friend's vegetarian toasts came in three pairs (totalling six). I tried her grilled peach and candied pecan one. Although I enjoyed it, I wasn't a fan of the cheese spread. I think it would have been tastier without it! She was unable to finish the pear and brie ones, mainly because by that time she was quite full/sick with the heavy brie (it came with her appetizer as well). The desserts came last. By this point, I regretted ordering the cheese and fruit board, because I wanted something light to finish the wine. Thinking back, the homemade mulled wine would have been a delightful choice. Anyway, I polished the fruit and left the cheese to take away. My friend ordered the creme brulee - and it was HEAVENLY. It was so utterly creamy and sweet inside. Perfectly executed, with the right brulee on top! Although it was slightly pricey (such is the student life), I did enjoy the experience. Don't know if I'd come again, but it is a lovely date spot and a place to chill with friends! read more

I've been on a hunt for the best cured meat and cheese boards in London for the past year and the artisan board at wine bar was rockstar! I can barely name all the variety on that sexy wooden pallet and it wasn't from the copious amount of delicious red wine but just the sheer volume of options Also the ability to try every wine option on the menu with 3oz flights is quite a bold move and loved it. It was delicious and well presented in the delivery box. The one caveat that I might say is that it would be helpful if they identified the types of cheeses and meats and condiments that they put in the box. This wine bar is super cute date material. It's spacious, there are enough tables for a large group and the wine I ordered (albeit I only ordered one) was great. The thing that sets this place apart is its wine club. For $25 per month you get a bottle in your personal cubby. Some cubbies had 2 bottles in the case people didn't make it in a month. As a club member, you can come enjoy your bottle and if you don't finish it, they cork it for you to take home. Awesome idea. It's nice to see new and unique spots come to downtown London. Instead of your typical bar, pub, or nightclub, the London Wine Bar offers a great spot for those who love some vino without the restaurant attached. The London Wine Bar has a cute little patio, some table seating, a bar, and some comfy chairs if you are looking for something more casual. They are able to accommodate to larger groups easily. On one wall was a bunch of cubbies for the members of the Wine Club. It's a really cool concept. For $25 a month you get a bunch of perks plus a bottle of wine to drink and your own personal glass. You can take the bottle home if you cannot drink the whole thing. There is a big wait list I guess but the waitress said they may try to expand it. Along the wall there is a chalk board with different wines available by the glass. I'm assuming these change quite often as they are also listed on a clip board. They also have a menu of wine that can be purchased by the bottle. I got a 3oz glass of a Chilean wine which was quite delightful. I like that you can get small 3oz glasses so you can try a bunch of different types if you want to. We were given some water which was lightly infused with citrus. It was a nice surprise. We were also given some bread and oil which I wasn't expecting either. My coworker and I shared the Artisan Board ($24). It consisted of a few different types of meats, some hard and soft cheeses, nuts and dried fruit, plus olives and grilled peppers. I found the prices of their boards to be really fair and even a bit cheaper than a lot of other places I've seen. They have some local chocolate boards available for $8/100g. From what the menu said, it sounded amazing. Unfortunately I was pretty satisfied with the board that I had so I didn't indulge. Next time, you know what I"ll be ordering. I saw on the menu that they have french press coffee. My boyfriend is a big coffee guy so I think I might bring him there for that. The service here wasn't anything extraordinary but being a new business, I can let that slide. I would have preferred that they told me what types of meats and cheeses I was eating on the board and also what wines would go best with what I was ordering. If you are looking for a fun yet quiet night out with friends, I think the Wine Bar is a great choice. You aren't going to find crazy music or dancing here but you will find a warm atmosphere and good wine to enjoy! read more

I checked out the London wine bar with some fellow Yelpers, and it was a good time! They have a selection of about 15 wines by the glass, available in 3 oz and 6 oz pours, as well as full bottles. There's an additional bottle list, and a short list of craft beers on tap. There's wine from Canada, as well as California, and some European and new world wines. 3 oz pours range from around $4 - $6, with 6 oz pours exactly double the price. The wines I tried were good. I'm not enough of a wine expert to speak to how exciting the list was, but there was a good range of styles, and detailed tasting descriptions of each wine on the menu. The don't serve a standard food menu, but have charcuterie boards with meat and cheeses. The Wine Bar would get a higher rating from me if the charcuterie boards were better. I split an "Old World" board for $15. It wasn't very exciting -- it contained a few pieces of tasty hard cheese, a couple of olives, some raisins, a bit of jam, and (most disappointingly) a bunch of sliced cold cuts and salami that seemed like they were purchased from a typical deli. They served our table bread with oil for dipping, and this was the bread that accompanied the charcuterie board; there weren't any extra crackers or anything like that. The place was mostly empty when we visited, and the service was friendly, pleasant, and efficient. This would be a nice place to visit for a date or a get-together with friends. I'd be more impressed if they upped their charcuterie ante! I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could. read more

This Wine Bar is what London has been missing. The owner is amazing, caring, observant, just all around the best experience I've had in a long time. --- Food --- The cheese boards are amazing. Like. Did I mention they were amazing... It is paired with a jam/jelly and a toasted slice of bread with seasoning. Each combination is properly paired regarding flavours and smells. --- Drinks --- The Wine list is amazing. It is an ever changing list, so you might not find the wine you regularly drink, but that is the beauty of this place. It allows you to find new wines that you normally would not try. --- Service --- Service was phenomenal. Beyond phenomenal. I will make this a regular place of visit with friends and coworkers, as I THOROUGHLY enjoyed this experience. --- Overall --- I wish I had more time to come in sooner, because it is well worth the trip. This place is a rarity in London and deserves your business, over and over again. Try to make reservations on busy nights, because you can be turned away for lack of availability! I've been here before and had great experiences but last night ruined this place for me. Our waitress was rude, un attentive and dismissive. The place was not busy and she didn't check on our table for over 30mins, and when she finally got around to us she claimed she had already called last call and couldn't serve us. My family came from Vancouver for the weekend and we went to London Wine Bar for a pre dinner drink. Between the four of us we tried 6 glasses (3 red and 3 white wines) and all were amazing. The atmosphere was fun, dark but upbeat, and music started at 8. We did not order food but the tables around us had amazing looking dishes. The waitresses were happy, enlightening and knowledgeable. This wine bar has a great thing going. A great selection of wines, a variety of tempting artisan boards and a wine club that already has a wait list. I'm only wish our server had offered more information and guidance when we were selecting our first glass of wine. It would have been great if the wine club had been explained to tempt us. I would enjoy going back on another occasion but hope that next time I am lucky enough to have a server who can kick the experience up a notch. read more

Good service, great food and wine selection. I came here for the first time with a group of girls this week and we'll be returning in the future. The meats are all local, gluten free, and free-range. The cheese boards were stunning and the service was friendly. It did take a while for our food to come out, but everything is so elaborately presented that it probably takes a while to make. Went on a weekend and was treated to a decent band playing some old school favorites. The classic artisan board was one of the better I have had in London. At $24, you get about half a dozen of both meats and chesse complete with fruit, pickles and whatever else they decide to throw down. If I have any criticisms, it may be the wine itself. It's a rather small list considering the name. I'm confident one could find something they like but I think more options for the 3 and 6 ounce glass reds and whites would allow people to experience more variety without having to commit to a bottle. That said, I had a nice bottle...hic...two of the Wachau 2014 Gruner Veltliner at slightly high $55 each. Alas, I remember days not long ago when Gruners were a steal...even in a restaurant. In the end, it's a cool vibe, especially if there is a good band.The menu if perfect to lounge and I believe the artisan board is one of the best in the city. The wine list is a little disappointing if your plan to explore the world of vino without having to go to the LCBO. I guess the last advantage is the fact that you are unlikely to be infiltrated by the Richmond Row crowd...it's a little too relaxed (aka old) for them. read more

Came here for a date night to celebrate my boyfriend's 30th birthday - this was the first time we had been and it exceeded all of our expectations!! Would definitely recommend for a date night or a girls night! The atmosphere was great for a date night - dim lighting & candles, great jazz-type music. Our waitress was super friendly and outgoing - she helped us decide on menu items to select, she continuously kept our wine glasses full, cleared the plates as soon as we were done to get ready for the next round of tapas, and was joking around with us all night. The food was AMAZING. Everything we got was absolutely delicious. We did a few rounds of tapas so we could try different things - would highly recommend doing this as you'll want to try it all!! We started with the single charcuterie board, the brussels sprouts, and the pear & brie crostini (which they gave us for free as a sample!) - all delicious. The charcuterie board had a great selection of fresh meats and delicious cheeses as well as fresh fruit and a melon cinnamon salsa (which was to die for). Our second round included the pierogies, patatas bravas, and a sausage and mushroom crostini - again, all amazing (we could have eaten 5 more orders of those pierogies - definitely get these!). We ended off with the roasted cauliflower, polenta fries (so deliciously crispy), and a capicola & pesto crostini. With each round of food, we were expecting something to be off - but it kept getting better and better. We were there until close and if they weren't closing, we probably would have tried everything on the menu!! My only complaint - the menu in the restaurant is different than the one on their website. They have many additional things in the restaurant and don't have a few things that are listed on their website. One other warning - the bill added up pretty quickly and since it was tapas style, we didn't keep track of the cost and it was so easy to just keep ordering more - so were surprised when we got the bill. That was our own fault - would just recommend keeping track of what you order and the cost of each if you have a budget! We will definitely be back!! read more

Went here for my sisters birthday outing Wednesday evening, arrived hungry and looking forward to some yummie fare but ended up very disappointed, now before I continue there was nothing wrong with the food taste wise, but lets start with the cheese board we ordered, three types of cheese we picked out and when it arrived the pieces of cheese were wafer thin and barely a bite for each of us (there was only 2 of us) and it also came with a whopping 3 whole pieces of crustini and a few teeny tiny specs of jam...we also ordered a half dozen oysters and a bottle of wine and we were still starving $100 later and ended up going somewhere else to actually get some food, if overpriced and pretentious is your thing this is the place for you, otherwise I wouldn't make the mistake and waste your money like we did... read more

But the nearly one hour wait for the appetizer ...with no contact from our waitress after the order was placed...not even bread to keep us busy with the wine...ruined the experience. Nearby tables were served in minutes by other staff. We politely discussed this with the waitress who at first blamed it on a busy night but accepted our criticism as intended.
