I decided to have the pulled port grilled cheese sandwich, it was savory and delicious with a side of fries. I had a CREAM cocktail that was dangerously smooth and very tasty, it had coconut rum, pineapple puree, jalapeño and nutmeg, very tasty. SoBro Spirits has got a lotta bourbon and whiskey, and in fact, I would say this is one of the better places to find bourbon in Indy. The wine section is fine but not the largest, although what they do have seems well curated and thoughtful. All around the store, you will see shopping baskets full of random bottles of discounted wine, beer and other alcohol. It was kind of fun to paw through the baskets and try to find a cheap treasure. Along with the Canadian whiskey, I walked away with a nice Rioja and a rose for a steep discount. This liquor store is located close to the Monon Trail, so it's easy to get to via bike or walking.

Sitting here in my home without pulling up Google Maps, I can't think of another liquor store around me. The closest one I would visit would have to be Chilly's in Greenfield, but I don't want a 30 minute round trip and Elite is easy to hit on my way home. So, while I am not always impressed with Elite, I am thankful it is near by my place of residence. The store has a decent selection. Not great. Not bad. It's just a smaller store. They pack a lot in (read: the aisles are tight), but sometimes I just can't find what I am looking for. The attendants are kind, but I wouldn't say overly helpful. I am sure they would help if I ask, though. They just do their thing behind the counter. My only real gripe is the store layout. The dedicated spirit aisles are nice (tequila, rum, vodka) and I actually didn't realize how large their whiskey and bourbon selection was, so that's a positive. No, my gripe is with the wine. It is spread out all over the place. Whites here, Indiana wines there. They have a nice wooden wine rack, but it is literally where people line up to pay, so you feel like you are in everyone's way or they are staring at you. It the wine was just on the other side of the room, I'd be tempted to bump this up to 4 stars. I can't help but wonder: Is the liquor store supposed to be elite or their products? This store has a really nice and large selection of vodkas ranging from low end to fancy flavors to a few higher end vodkas. I opted for a mid range large bottle that's 100 proof. Since I mix it with sweet beverages I am not that picky about my vodka:) However, I was looking instead for our favorite scotches ... Grant's. Unfortunately, they don't carry Grant's, but they do have Famous Grouse which is really a close second. I'm not even going to say i've had a lot of different kinds of scotch whiskey, but I have had enough to have an opinion now. Their prices on most essential beverages are competitive.
