Lone Fir was a great stop on our vacation! Stayed in one of the cabins for a night, cabin was clean and as described, no complaints. Swim in the pool was pleasant while some laundry spun in the coin operated laundromat. Had dinner at the cafe and I thought the food was really solid considering you're in a fairly remote location. Everything was fresh, service was top notch (frog tatoo guy and lobe pierced gal, I appreciate y'all). Be nice to people and be considerate and they will more often than not return the gesture.

Excellent, woodsy location with lots of outdoor activities nearby! We enjoyed a relaxing afternoon skipping rocks on the shore of Yale Lake, explored the Ape Cave, and shot some great photos of the majestic Mt St Helens, which is just around the corner from Lone Fir. The restaurant was delicious. I had a pepperoni pizza and the service was warm and friendly. Highly recommend!

I love this place! I stayed at Lone Fir Resort for one night - I wish I stayed much longer, and will next time. I had a standard room (3C). It was cozy, but spacious for a basic room and spotlessly clean. The bed was quite comfortable, and topped with a lovely quilt. I'd describe the decor as 'tasteful lodge' with clear attention to detail. My bathroom had white subway tile, thick towels, and Beekman 1802 bath products. So much care and thought has clearly gone into outfitting the rooms! Plus, my room had wall-mounted AC. The staff members were super friendly and helpful. My group played horseshoes, shopped at the awesome gift shop, had delicious pizza, fries, fried mushrooms, milk shakes, and hamburgers at Bigfoot's Lodge, played games in the clubhouse, explored to see if we could find all the cabins, and then drove to see Mount Saint Helens and the Ape Caves. We also spent some time skipping rocks at beautiful Yale Lake across the road from the resort. Keep in mind that Bigfoot's Lodge restaurant's days and hours change with the season, so check the website and plan accordingly. I give it five stars all the way!

We stopped in for dinner after hiking. Food was delicious. Our server was great and shared some local info and background behind the names of menu items. We sat outside under the roof on the patio at a nice big table for our family of 5. Kind of pricy, but quality and friendly staff made up for that.

Excellent breakfast at the restaurant. There is a gift shop and you can buy park passes (day passes too) inside the shop. The servers were very nice. The food was really good. Loved the breakfast potatoes. Ate there 2 mornings during my trip.

Cafe/restaurant: clean. Great food!!! Incredible breakfast. Best chicken fried steak hubby & I have ever had, Anywhere! Scott, the chef, knows his stuff. Everything we tried was amazing. Milkshakes. Fried mushrooms and fried cheese curds . Our server Candy was friendly, efficient, and hard working. The campgrounds: clean, efficient. Close to beautiful lakes. Quiet. Our room looked brand new, nicer than many hotels! So many families spending quality time playing, reading, swimming together. I loved that the cell service & wifi isn't great: less screen time for everyone. There's a playground, game room, outdoor movie, popcorn.

"Nice and friendly" is beyond an understatement when describing this gentleman. The General Store has so many snacks, I probably spent $60 on all the stuff I ate. I couldn't help myself. You won't be left hungry here. They do close early at 6 on though so use your time wisely! We stayed in Condo 2 and it was absolutely lovely. They even have pots, pans, silverware, dishes and mugs in the kitchen for you to use. Oh! We were so happy to see a griddle! The bathtub is also a jacuzzi! And they had little toiletries for you. Oh, and makeup remover wipes even! Talk about next level thinking! Everything hardware you need for a basic stay is there. It really felt like home. My husband and I are already talking about coming back before the end of the year. Thank you for a wonderful stay, Lance and Shannon!

I'd never been and figured why not as I could use a little getaway. This stay was not without it's issues as there were some things that happened early into our experience that were less than ideal. My family got to Great Wolf Lodge a couple hours before I did as I had to work a bit later than her and when I arrived i heard about a situation that happened in the water park...my cousin instructed her oldest daughter to watch after her little sister and her little sister's two friends who came with them but unfortunately her teenage daughter wasn't paying attention to them quite as well as she was supposed to and the younger girls walked off and after they did, they were looking for my cousin but had a difficult time locating her and my cousin's oldest daughter who was supposed to be watching them while my cousin went to take care of a matter...anyhow, the girls started crying because they couldn't find them but my cousin returned to the water park area just a few moments later and was met with a hostile security guard who had the young girls crying even more as he was yelling at my cousin berating her for not being there watching the kids and she calmly tried to explain that her teenage daughter was supposed to be with them but he just continued with a rant about how they're going to call the police on her and saying that he shouldn't be responsible for having to watch her children when he dosen't even like kids. (Side note: If that's how he feels he should definitely find another job, this family friendly environment clearly is not for this man).. anyhow, while i can understand where he is coming from about no one watching the children for that short time, it was a whole unnecessary and embarrassing experience for my family. Shortly after I arrived and set my stuff down and got my bathing suit on, I ended up meeting up with my cousin's oldest daughter who was just outside of the Waterpark area at the time and she wanted to go back to our room for a bit so we tried the elevator but the elevators in this place are extremely slow so instead we decided to take the stairs to get to the room. On the second floor of the stairwell, there was a man standing in a corner staring at us as we walked by, a few seconds later I turned my head to look back at him and he was still staring at us and smiling in a very unsettling way. Mind you, I was in a bathing suit and she is a very attractive teenage girl wearing a bikini so we knew he was being a creeper. We ended up just taking the elevator downstairs and reported him to the front desk. They couldn't really do much as he didn't say anything to us or try to follow us but they assured us that they would keep an eye on him through video surveillance and would take action if he was making other women and girls uncomfortable. We stayed another night as we didn't want this to be her daughters whole great wolf lodge experience for the youngest daughters birthday and we ended up with a much better experience yesterday as a very sweet employee by the name of Darlene took the time to listen to my cousin about the awful experience with the security guard in the water park and she really made our day! Darlene demonstrated amazing customer service by being present, fully listening to our concerns and showing compassion by offering the girls some birthday pins and getting us set up with the breakfast buffet. We had a nice breakfast and spent some quality family time in the Waterpark as well as the arcade yesterday without any disturbances! We also did the mirror maze and joined in on the family dance party which were fun experiences for the girls. I loved the wave pool as well as the howling tornado in the Waterpark and would like to come back to experience that again! It's definitely no amusement park and it's an overpriced place to stay for what it is but it would still be good place to go with family for one night every now and then...especially if they keep employees like Darlene around !

First of all, the lady at the general store (main office) is incredibly friendly and warm. We stayed in the Angler's Den cabin and called ahead a few times with questions. She answered all of them and was very kind and helpful. The cabin came stocked with pots, plans, dishes, silverware, wine opener/bottler opener and really pretty much everything you would need. The cabin was actually quite large and had a true living room, kitchen (with large refrigerator), bathroom, and separate bedroom. There were multiple TV's within the cabin as well. Plus a large comfortable recliner chair! The cabin also had an air conditioning unit, which was much needed during the month of July. Not all cabins have AC, but most do. Offut Lake Resort is also in a densely wooded area with plenty of tall trees, so the shade throughout the resort keeps it much cooler. Even though the temps were in the high 80's when we were there, it was surprisingly shaded and comfortable throughout. The actual resort is nestled within a few neighborhoods near the lake. It is a quiet area and everyone seemed friendly. It was very safe and we were able to take our one year old son on a few long walks throughout the bordering neighborhoods. The resort has a playground with swings, a basketball court, and a larger grass area for other recreational activities. The general store/main office sells items you might need (or have forgot), and also sells beverages such as soda/juice/beer. The Lady of the Lake Restaurant is fantastic and is truly one of the best things about this small resort. It is incredibly convenient to be able to order takeout food for lunch or dinner from the restaurant and bring it back to your cabin. The restaurant is a short 3-5 minute walk from the camp sites and cabins. All of the food we had there was delicious and exceeded our expectations. The food was higher quality and tastier than what you might find at most bar & grills. Eating at the restaurant is also a nice option, and there is a bar there as well. It is a busy restaurant and seems to be a popular place with the locals. The fish & chips were delicious and something we would recommend! They also had a band play at the restaurant on Friday night. The lake is very scenic and tranquil. It is a shallow lake making it fairly warm and the water seemed clean. There is a small grass beach front area with rock wall that leads down to the lake. There are steps to walk down to get to the lake. We would recommend bringing water socks (or some type of water shoes) because the rocks at the bottom of the lake are a little harder to stand on. We brought sand toys, but then when we got there we realized there was no sand or beach area. Not a big deal at all, but just something to be aware of. It is a great lake to bring floaties to and float around. Next time I go back, I'll bring floaties with an anchor to anchor out in the middle of the lake. You can also fish off the dock or rent boats for the day. This is an underrated lake resort for people in Western Washington! I have lived in the Seattle area my whole life and I've never heard anyone talk about this place! The prices are very reasonable, it is a short trek from the Seattle area, and it feels like a true lake getaway. We stayed for two nights, but it would be easy to spend three or four nights there, especially if you rent boats and spent the day out on the lake. The Lady of the Lake restaurant is a great place to end the day and have drinks/dinner. This is a fun family resort, but would also be a fun option for couples or groups of friends. We stayed there in July during a nice streak of sunshine, but this could be a fun place to go in the Spring or Fall as well.

They warn everyone that there is a pretty steep 12 degree grade/incline on the entry road so anyone pulling an RV use caution. But once up there, the setting is gorgeously wooded & rustic. It's very tranquil...it feels like a retreat! The resort doesn't have hotels/rooms/cabins (called "bunkies" in the NW) for rent. They recently did get an RV they rent out and may get more options in the future. There are several areas to tent (no elec or water) and plentiful RV spots. We were lucky that we were friends with a member and were invited to stay at her place. It felt like we were sleeping in a tree house the way it was nestled into the mountain. The resort has a clean large pool, an indoor hot tub, sauna, sports court, rec hall, and a gaming room with ping pong and billiards pool tables. People were reading and relaxing in the outside common areas, scattered between the shaded tree-lined perimeter and the colorful gardens. Bathrooms and shower areas were large & clean. There was a laundry area but we didn't notice a common kitchen area for guest use like the other resorts we've been to so far. They did have a few snacks & ice cream for sale, as well as a little "merch" area. The crown jewel of this resort is their trails! They have many volunteers who maintain them. They are very proud of them...as they should be. The entire resort is run via a co-op of volunteers, and most work gets done by the members. The "host" (front desk guy) was very helpful. We arrived the day of their annual board meeting so we felt lucky to meet so many of the "movers & shakers" there - especially a few of the board members! The day included a small local band & a BBQ dinner. The newly renovated rec hall made for a great place for the dinner & social area. We made new friends who invited us for drinks & dessert (and fabulous conversation) that night. It was a great day. MSR is trying to amp up their marketing & activities to boost interest and memberships. A newer event, Sports Fest, had concluded a couple weeks before we arrived & was a huge success. It offered something for everyone - from pickleball clinics & tourneys to a fun poker run through the woods. Bummed we missed it but it'll be an annual event. Check it out if you're on this side of the country next July! They used to have a Trail Run challenge up the mountain side & are discussing bringing it back. A few other things to know: *It's clothing optional except in the pool & hot tub. Most everyone was nude while we were there. *There is a strict no photo policy (stickers are provided/required over your phone cameras). We did get permission from leadership to take these photos and help spread the word about this beautiful resort. *Rates are affordable. *No cell phone service there but WiFi worked well. The resort's motto is "Just Wear A Smile". This & other cute signs were posted to help encourage nudity. It is a good deal colder, especially in the evenings, than FL where we are from so of course there's a bit more leeway (and necessity) regarding clothes. We loved the vibe & the people at MSR & will definitely be back!
