Some college age patrons began a political discussion with me, in good faith, I believed. They did not like the answers they recieved from me and then took it upon themselves to go to a manager, I think, and claim that I had used racial epiphets aimed at one of the group who started the discussion. This never happened, and I have never used, to the best of my memory, any name calling in discussions since I was a young idiot of 15 years. Nevertheless, the manager, instead of finding out what really happened, took the dissatified student at her word and began yelling agressively towatds me. I was gobsmacked as I had no idea what I had done. I, in my confusion, was explaining my innocence and pointed out that I thought we were having a good faith discussion. The entire time acting calm and confused as to what I had done, and repeating my innocence, as I do NOT use racist names and thought we were just discussing a situation that had little effect on our lives. This fell on deaf ears for the manager(?), as he continued to yell at me (totally uninterested in hearing what I had to say) and demand I leave. He brought with him two bouncers despite him being the only one speaking with a raised voice. I was not acting violent or agitated. In the meantime the college student who I thought wanted to have a good faith discussion up until 5 minutes previous was claming, behind his back, that I had used a racist name that I have nevet heard in my life before it was on Breaking Bad, the series. This was a very uncomfortable and frightening situation for a man suffering from PTSD. It was all I could do to keep control and talk in a measured tone to the agressive manner showed me. I was thankful that the entire group was thrown out by the owner, I think, as I had been cordial and jocular and did not actually want to discuss politics or the middle east when out on the town and enjoying myself. However the agressive manner showed me as a guest from another country convinced me that anyone I know should stay away from the Lone Goose Saloon because college students will lie in order to get anothet patron kicked out with whom they don't agree. And that the manager should immediately side with the lying student and act agressively to a patron who was acting perfectly normal, even after he was yelling and agressive, tells me he is either naive or stupid or both. Or does he think all young women tell the truth? Perhaps he should look into the matter and both sides before he stars yelling at a person who has seen death and destruction as well as behaving himself amicably. I will not be recommending this bar to anyone. read more

TL;DR - My friend and I were threatened by regulars. When we reported their aggression, the bartenders did not care and went as far as to defend the people that were attempting to incite violence. Ultimately, we were physically assaulted by a female bartender. --- To start this off Ive been here several times before and had a great time. This night they had karaoke and the man hosting it, Bill, was terriffic. With that said, the service is usually pretty poor but hey its a dive bar. Great music, cheap drinks, and poor service is status quo. My friend and I went to the back area to play pool. While we were chatting, a woman at the other table told us to "shut the fuck up" while she takes her shot, to which I replied "we are at a bar, not a golf course". We were atleast 10ft from this woman, there was loud music playing, and we were not speaking to her. An older gentleman with her asked if I had a problem, and a woman with a full-coverage neck tattoo (no judgement only posting for ID) asked if I was looking for a fight after I made this comment. Noticing they were either too drunk, too dangerous or both I said "nope, no problem. Its all love here" and my friend and I walked back to the front of the bar. I walked over to a taller male bartender and told him what had just happened, and that these patrons were being aggressive/threatening. He did not seem concerned at all, and noted that they were regulars and that I should just avoid them. I told him that we had every right to be here and to feel safe, despite the fact we don't drink here on a nightly basis, and he half-heartedly agreed and walked off. About half an hour later, my friend and I return to the back to attempt to play a game of pool. The tall bartender I spoke to earlier stopped us as we entered the back room and said we needed to stay upfront as the group of regulars that had threatened us was still back there. After claiming this was entirely unfair, particularly as I had already reported their aggression, one of the ladies said that we could stay as long as we didn't speak to them. This is ironic as they initiated the dialogue between our parties to begin with, but I happily agreed and said thanks. Shortly afterwards, I went to get change for a dollar so we could play. While at the bar, I calmy told the taller bartender that, as a patron and former bartender, I felt the way he treated my friend and I was unprofessional. He began to reply in an equally cordial manner, and before he could finish his sentence a female bartender with whom I had not spoken a word to the entire night cut him off. She leaned over the bar and said loudly that I could not talk to her coworker that way. I asked her in what way she was referring to, as I had not been loud or even assertive in the way I was speaking. At this point, her tone went from loud to very aggressive and she started yelling at me without explanation. She told me to leave right after I asked what she was referring to, or she'd call 911. I thought she was either intoxicated herself or trying to get a rise out of me, so i played it cool, chuckled and said that would be a massive waste of public resources. Her eyes got really big, she walked around the bar got within 2 inches of my face and I shit you not said, "do you want to fight me?". I said no, I don't want to fight you, you're the one yelling and you're the one who just walked up into my face. She once again yelled, this time spitting in my face, to "LEAVE, now". I said OK, i need to use the restroom and get the beer i left back at the pool table. I attempted to take a single step forward and this woman lunged forward and attacked me. I immediately threw my hands up as this happened and started backing up as she simultaneously assaulted me. She knocked over 1 or 2 chairs, gave me a couple bruises on my upper arms and scratches on my forearms, and even pulled my friends beard when he tried to seperate her from me. Sorry for the long story, but this woman is unhinged and should not be allowed to work behind any bar. Please quit drinking or seek therapy. read more

I've been to the Goose (at this location) at least a dozen times. Although I think the patio is nice and especially nice that it is dog friendly, I just miss the old Lone Goose Location when it was situated in the same complex as Furniture Factory and had a much larger space, big stage and much more personality. There's nothing inherently bad about LG, there's (at least for me) just nothing memorable about it. They have mediocre wine, a full bar and I'm not sure about the beer selection. I've been there on trivia nights, not to participate, just a coincidence. It's not super large inside and the bar seats maybe 6-8. Again, the patio is your best bet when the weather is nice and they don't have cocktail servers working the patio. Do know they allow smoking on the patio. And yes, like others have stated, they do not offer food. The times I have been there, I never saw anyone eating, but I do know at their previous location they allowed outside food to be brought in. It was located in A.M. Booth's Lumberyard by the railroad tracks and just had so much character. Plus, A.M. Booth's offered other drinking and dining within a few feet. The prior location had cool local artwork hanging all around (for sale) which was fun to look at and seemed to have quite a few regulars. Service was fairly quick, too. It was cozy, yet spacious. This location has never wowed (sp?) me service wise - service has never been energetic or overly friendly, not to say it is surly in any way, just so-so. Their FB says they have happy hour from 4-7 and 2-7 on Fridays and Drunk Bingo (??) from 8-10 (select nights - I wasn't paying too much attention.) If you're in the neighborhood with your fur friends, have a beer on their patio, to say you did! There are a lot of other options at Campus 805 if you get bored at the Goose you can check out Hops n Guac, The Bar, Rock n Roll Sushi, Straight to Ale and much more. read more

Was on date and walked to around the bar. The older female bartender walked up and said something to me. I didnt know if she was greeting me or saying hi and I did not want to be rude so I replied with "what?" politely. she snapped on us and said WHAT CAN I HELP YOU WITH!? and started doing a little dance saying she doesn't understand why people ask her that dumb question because what else would she be asking? All because I said, "what?" in a loud area. I will never, ever be back in that place again and the Lone Goose should be ashamed of their selves for hiring a person that treats anyone like that. Stopped in after having lunch at Ale's Kitchen to have a drink. The place was empty, so the three of us sat at the end of the bar. When we arrived they had a dog show on that one TV. I'm a huge dog person and was enjoying the show. About 30 minutes later two other guys show up and sit directly next to our party of three (the entire place was still empty...social distancing???). They made some smartass comments about "put something on we want to watch". Without saying a word while I was obviously watching, she abruptly changed the channel. When we asked why she would turn off something a customer was clearly enjoying, her response was: "they come in here all the time". read more

Definitely avoid this place if you can. If you don't fit their "vibe" they won't accept you - literally. I visited after the COVID lockdown and the bartender told me he wouldn't serve me because my license was expired. I told him there was a 60 day grace period because the DMV wasn't even open at the time but he still said no. Not sure they're really in a place to be turning down customers? Great neighborhood bar with a welcoming atmosphere. Plenty of TVs, jukebox, patio, pool tables, and liquor to keep you busy. It's also in the middle of a great multi use space so you always have options. All the bartenders are super cool but Spoonie is definitely the nicest and warmest. read more

Absolutely awful. They weren't checking IDs at the entrance. We walked in and went to grab a drink. The bartender instantly pinpointed a friend by asking for her ID when she wasn't even ordering a drink. No one else in the bar had to show their ID. I asked why she had to when no one else had their ID (my friend was 24 and we had just celebrated her bridal shower) and the bartender called me a bitch. The manager came over and told us he knows they made mistakes, but never fixed them. The most rude people I've ever dealt with. Will NEVER go their again. read more

I am highly upset with how I was treated last night. I have come to this establishment many times and most of the time it has been great. However there have been a few times recently that has changed my opinion. A few weeks ago we went in to have a drink with friends and before we were finished with our drinks, the waiter or bar staff snatched drinks off our table and slammed chairs around. But last night cuts the cake. I went in the establishment to listen to my favorite band and it's around 10pm. I grab a chair at the bar and apparently it's the door guys. He says it's his and that I don't need to drink anything. I had already ordered a water. I was not planning on drinking anything at that moment. Then I tried to apologize for taking his chair and he says I need to leave. I get up and he will not let me get my friends in the back playing pool. I have to leave immediately. This was a really ugly way to treat a customer. I was not bothering anyone and I did not cause a scene. My opinion your door guy shouldn't be at the bar. He should be at the door. My second opinion is he could have been a lot more friendly. I am a lady and just because I accidentally grabbed his chair he was ugly and used his power in the wrong way. I have always liked this place but treating customers like this is uncalled for. read more

Great new location. The bartenders are excellent, and very knowledgeable. Especially Tracey she is great! The best part is you can bring your doggie on the patio. They are really accommodating about letting you bring in food too. They do not serve food and they allow you to bring in outside food. read more
