Enjoyed my stay at Lone Pine Budget Inn, everything was as expected, easy to check in and finding nearby places to walk to eat

Rooms are clean, love that we have a fridge and microwave. Front office people are super friendly and nice. I find the bed comfortable my husband probably found it too soft. The only thing that was not so hot is the AC unit is loud even on low. But it works good. I would recommend this place and come again read more

Not bad. It's quiet, and a block over from 395. Not too far and not too close. We paid around $120 a night during the peak Summer hiking season. It's a budget motel, but has what you need: wi-fi, plenty of TV channels, soft sheets, ironing, refrigeration, ice, and it's pretty clean and generally renovated. read more

Budget indeed. Paid $110 for a one night stay on a Saturday night because we had no choice. Last minute decision to descend from Trail Camp, we got back to the trailhead at around 10PM and weren't left with very many options for both food and lodging. This place had vacancy and compared to another night in the cold and on a sleeping pad... anything with a hot shower and a bed was a great deal. We booked this via booking.com and checked in at around 11PM. Not sure if the owner / front desk was unhappy that we were checking in so late because he seemed ticked off the entire time. I also nicely asked if we could request for a later check out, even just 30 minutes later so we could recharge since we were so tired from the hike. I got a firm NO. He said that we needed to be out of the rooms by 11AM on the dot because his cleaning lady has to finish all the rooms before noon because she has to go to church. Well can she at least do our room last? Cause it sure as heck didn't look like the place was fully booked. There were about 5 other cars parked in the entire place. Nonetheless, we made sure we were out of there by 10:45AM the next day. The room was okay. The bed was decent, although the sheets and the pillows just felt very stiff and hard. There was a microwave and a fridge. The shower had good water pressure and had hot water. Noisy a/c wall unit. Nothing great, nothing horrible either. We knew what we were getting when we booked a "budget" inn. Wi-Fi is free. We were KO'd solid so we got a great night's sleep. Customer service was mediocre. Parking is directly outside your door. Makes for an easy loading / unloading of gear. Ice machine outside the office. For a last minute thing, not bad. read more

Paid $90 for 2 queen beds on a Saturday night. The room was fine -- clean, safe, easy parking, in-room coffee, decent water pressure in shower and plenty of hot water. Wi-Fi worked, bed linens were of a higher quality than expected at this type of motel. read more

Does what it says, budeget Inn. Nice and quiet, no road noise in our room. Got a good nights sleep. Wifi was a bit dodgy in our room, so we ended up sitting outside a lot to use it. Could do with a little up grading, towels were good, but time to upgrade the bedding- please!! read more

The service here is amazing! I left my pillow and the manager saved it knowing I was coming back, and made sure I had a whirlpool tub after a 3-day hiking adventure. It's an older building with just what you need and nothing fancy, but with this kind of service, I'd prefer here over anywhere else. It's right on the main strip so close to Whitney Portal road and any food/souvenirs you might need. read more

$77 including tax for a room with a queen-sized bed booked on a Monday in late November. Small microwave, fridge, coffee maker, hairdryer, and a rather loud but effective heater/AC wall unit. Everything worked, clean, nothing fantastic, nothing awful, just as you might expect a place with the word "budget" might be like. The parking lot is a little tiny, although I had the room at the far back end, which had a larger parking spot. Free wifi that worked well. Quiet, no road noise from the room. read more

We were driving up to Yosemite with a late start, and we needed somewhere to sleep last minute, at almost 2am. Lone Pine was the next small town full of hotels, and we were so grateful Lone Pine Budget Inn was open with a vacancy, as many hotels were full up (it was late August, lots of Mt Whitney hikers and tourists in general). Pros: 1) They were open late and had a room. 2) They discounted our room a little for us because we were checking in at almost 2am, and planned to depart by 9am to finish our drive to Yosemite. 3) Clean room with fridge and other basic amenities. Cons: 1) Parking is tight if you have a larger vehicle, and if a lot of the other guests do as well, but manageable. 2) Beds are a bit hard, and I tend to like a more firm bed. All three of us (we had a room with two queens) thought the beds seemed a bit too firm. 3) Dated, but still basically clean furniture and beddings. For what you get, and for it being out in the middle of not a lot, we were compeltely satisfied with it. Overall: I would stay here again if we needed a room last minute in Lone Pine. read more

Fine room with bathroom, fridge and microwave. Pretty expensive tho.. $95. When i asked if the AC was working the lady behind the reception garanteed us that it was better than the one in her office.. No worry. It was 95F outside so a proper AC was kind of the reason we stayed at a motel. (We travel in a small rv) Unfortunately that was not the case.. A van would have cooled us more down than the AC in the room.. read more

I spent nearly $700 here on two rooms and don't regret a penny of it. (See my other review on the worst place to stay in Lone Pine). I opted for the Budget Inn for price, and was very satisfied with the room and front desk owner/operator as well as all members of the staff I encountered during my three night stay. The rooms were huge, with 3 queen beds per room and plenty of space for my 11-month old to run around. The other aspect of the Budget Inn we loved was how quiet the rooms were. Nothing woke up my son, and when I asked my neighbor if my son's crying bothered him he stated he didn't even hear anything. read more

I have been here on two different occasions. It's nice and quiet here. It's far enough back where you don't hear 395 traffic. Bed is comfortable. Room was clean. Water pressure and hot water is sufficient. Microwave, refrigerator, and coffee pot all operate flawlessly. Coffee was a little weak though. I used the heater and it was a little loud. Free WIFI was good. TV was satisfactory. Not the best picture, but I'll blame the cable company. Lighting is cheap LED and does take a few minutes to get to full brightness. This place isn't going to satisfy most people, but if you enjoy the outdoors, then this place is perfectly priced. One cool fact, the three buildings that make up this motel are repurposed buildings from Manzanar. read more

i wish i could give this place 5 starts since it was clean and the lady at the front desk/office was amazingly nice and kind. one star for not being the shitty dow villa. one star for being so nice and accommodating and giving us another hour to check out. one MASSIVE star for being clean! one star down for everything being UG-ly. one star down for and lots of stuff being broken including the heater not working on a super cold night. read more

The room was clean and the staff was very friendly. It was $50 a night, and the room was plain and small but perfect for what we paid for.

Older motel like the rest here in town. But VERY clean, updated comfortable bed, quiet air conditioner. Huge jetted tub. Soft towels. Microwave, fridge and coffee maker. Seating area to enjoy meal brought in. Off the main hwy so no noise. Main thing is it is clean and quiet! Would come back and stay here again. Office ladies very nice. read more

My wife and I reserved a room for the advertised price given on the website. We received a confirmation receipt of the reservation and proceeded to the hotel, as it was 6 PM and check in was listed as anytime after 2 PM. When we arrived, I attempted to check in with the lady working at the front desk and was immediately subjected to the most hostile, brusque, rude and unprofessional encounter I have ever experienced in a hotel. The front desk attendant flatly stated that it was impossible that I had made the reservation, despite the fact that I was able to SHOW HER THE CONFIRMATION, and then proceeded to attempt to argue with me that the price I was quoted was incorrect despite the fact that it was itemized on the confirmation email I had received from THEIR SYSTEM. I chose to take my business elsewhere instead of continuing to attempt to reason with a person who is clearly uninterested in providing service. I will be sure to inform the large online hiker community to avoid this establishment if they are stopping in Lone Pine. read more

For a motel, I think this place is pretty good. The guy running the place on 4/2/16 was very nice. Guided us on where to eat and was just friendly. The inside, is just a simple bare room. Nothing special. The bed was hard, but I slept good. The next morning, the guy running the place let me know I had a flat and where I could go to fix it. The price, is a bit too pricy. But taking into account that the three other motels we checked in on were $30 more expensive. .. this place was worth the $. Going in I was a bit nervous... b it after, I'll be coming back & I will stay here again. read more

We stayed at this place two years ago (did not write a review at that time, but should have), and we will never stay at this place again! When we were there the first time, all of the other places in town were full, so we were "forced" to stay here and found the room just "ok", but the owner of the motel was not honest. We were quoted a price when we called, but when we got there, the price was more! We argued with the person behind the desk (which turned out to be the owner) and it was a very unpleasant experience. We came to Lone Pine again in October (and found the town full again!) and called this place (out of desperation) and the person on the phone was again "cranky and unfriendly" and so just decided to continue looking for another place (which we found and were very happy with!). We would NOT recommend this place! read more

This place was kinda questionable when we drove up, but we were exhausted so we stayed. It turned out nice! Room was clean, bed was comfy, and the blackout curtains let us sleep in pretty late lol! We ended up checking out at 7:30 in the morning and started heading south out of town when we found the road closed due to wind. So we tried to see if we can come back into our room since check out isn't until 11. The guy was very friendly and said of course. Otherwise we would've been in the car sitting for who knows how long. The only thing...need better pillows. But thank you :)! read more

I stayed here recently on my way home from a trip to Lake Tahoe. I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the room. It was much nicer than the place I stayed in on my way up to Lake Tahoe, and about $30 less to boot. The staff was friendly, checked me in quickly, and even gave me an additional $10 off the AAA rate. The room was modest, but clean. The TV and wi-fi worked well. What really made my trip memorable was the service, they really went above any beyond for me. On the day I checked out, I had driven about four hours before I realized that I left my iPad in the room. I quickly called the motel in a panic, assuming that I would most likely never see it again. They had found my iPad, and it was waiting at the front desk. They even agreed to ship it to me, and took my word that I would reimburse them for the charges. I was still nervous about it but decided it was better than turning around and spending another day on the road. Sure enough, my iPad arrived at my home only a few days later, fully functional and intact. I cannot say enough good things about the staff here, they are very honest and professional. I know where I will be staying on my next visit to Lone Pine! read more
