This Best Western in Lone Pine, CA was very clean. The beds were comfortable and the air-conditioning units worked GREAT. The front desk staff was very helpful and the breakfast bar was tasty. The swimming pool was very refreshing after a HOT day of hiking. I found the rooms to be a little pricey (during the first week of June) at just over $200 a night including tax, but I guarantee you won't find a cleaner hotel in the area. Warm/ friendly greeting upon check-in. You are assigned a parking space that corresponds to your room number, which was conveniently located outside the room making loading/ unloading easy. The room was very spacious, clean with a comfortable king bed, lots of pillows, nice size television, mini refrigerator & a lounging chair with ottoman. The bathroom sink/ vanity was just outside the shower room. The pool was very popular, provided lots of seating & shade. The full breakfast provided included an assortment of cereal, oatmeal, breads, fruits, eggs, potatoes, bacon or sausage, tortillas, salsa, Tabasco, pancakes, yogurts, milks, juice, coffee & tea. We wanted to stay here for our hike on the holiday weekend and were happy when some rooms opened up. The other people were right; the receptionist greeted us and gave us some good advice regarding activities for the local area. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast is great! The girl working knew how to work the coffee machine, there were options for everyone, and they even had mangos and peaches. Also, the views are incredible. Horrible customer service at front desk - rude and condescending We had called in prior directly to front desk and requested the room area we needed with a back door as we travel with a dog. We have stayed here 6 times a year for at least 10 years and are rewards members. When we got there we were given a completely different unacceptable room. When asked to change we were just told no - no apology or options nothing and extremely rude even laughed when I requested a discount. We immediately checked out and went down the street to Quality Inn - night and day "hospitality" service. We will not be returning to the "Best" Western Frontier again, they lost our business. read more

It was really quiet most of the time after midnight: except for a few 18 wheeler semi trucks passing by every night; but got used to it and didn't really disturb our sleep. Clerk was nice and attentive. Decent breakfast and fast service; budget friendly prices. Decorated rustic lobby and bedrooms. Parking was very secure and adjacent to outdoor pool. Great place to stay here for a day or two while you are on your adventure hiking trip to Mount Whitney and Death Valley National Park. This motel was a pleasant surprise. It's a large property and had a nice-size, very clean pool and laundry room. Our room was spacious, clean, well-stocked (including an extra pillow and blanket), comfortable, and didn't look out-dated. Although an older property, it's clearly well-maintained. The hotel reception staff were friendly and efficient. I was pleased that fresh brewed coffee, juice, and hot tea are offered 24-hours. It's right off the highway, so easy access and surprisingly quiet as there are no other businesses nearby. It's a bit south of the downtown area, but an easy 5-minute drive. We didn't take advantage of the complimentary breakfast, but the dining area is spacious and there was the usual food offerings (eggs, meat, oatmeal, pancakes, etc.). Each time we go backpacking/camping in the Eastern Sierras, we always stay at this Best Western before heading out to the trailhead the next day. Definitely worth the comfort, cleanliness and cash! The professional touches here and there make this stay worth whiled: -The Western Theme around the lot as well as plenty of outdoor seating area to enjoy the beautiful mountains. -Toiletries dispensers: what a great idea to squeeze the bottles of your bath wash, shampoo and conditioner that is eco friendly and smart! Cool shower head rotation too. -buffet breakfast is delicious! Yogurt with fresh fruit toppings, cereal, almond milk, apples and oranges to take with you if you want, toast, eggs, hash browns, beef patty, and a one minute pancake maker! This was a crowd pleaser and all you have to do is press OK. -EV drivers-if you notify them during time of booking, they will allow you to charge your EV for free. We just brought our portable charger with us. -Check in refreshments: when you are coming in at check in time from 100 degree weather outside, it is so welcoming to see unlimited unsweetened iced tea and fresh baked cookies waiting for you! This is your average motel. Maybe it is the best one in Lone Pine, I would not know. You have your pool at the center and rooms around it. The lady at the desk was polite and helpful. This is just perfect. Everything is very clean, the beds are comfortable, the room was warm and the shower was hot. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. There's free breakfast Which was hot, fresh and had plenty of food for all the guests. I've been to many hotels in the past that run out of the 'free' breakfast long before I get there. From this location you'll be a short drive to the river and just a hop away from several excellent trail heads. Dogs are welcome with an extra $25 per night and there's a large area to run them just to the south. I will be staying here again. Excellent work and a shout out to the staff! read more

We stayed here as a pit stop while passing through town and thankful for the last minute accommodation. This place was neatly organized with plenty of towels and basic amenities (soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc). It's equipped with a TV, microwave, mini-fridge and a 2 seater table workspace. The huge plus is the complimentary hot breakfast. Most places are discontinuing this option due to COVID but not here. THANK GOD. The added breakfast was a huge perk. For hot items, they offered sausages, pancakes, toast, scrambled eggs and coffee. For cold - fruit, juices, snack bars and yogurt. We were pleased with our stay. read more

I stayed here based on Brent from Cerro Gordon's recommendation. I have not stayed at a BW in a LONG time, and was nervous. I am top tier with several hotel chains, so obviously I stay a lot. This small town BW blew my expectations! So clean. So modern. Staff was great. Breakfast was not the standard powdered eggs. It was wonderful! Lone Pone has so much. Cerro Gordo mine is close, and the best ghost town I have visited. I will be back to town, and definitely back to this property. read more

An exceptional roadside motel! When booking our night in Lone Pine I was surprised to see a bit of a jump in price for this Best Western compared to other motels in the area, but when we got here it was very easy to see why. It is a newly renovated and beautiful motel with exceptional upkeep of the grounds and service levels. It's also incredibly close to the road to Death Valley and has quite a few other Lone Pine restaurants and attractions within a 5 minute drive. This set a new standard for me for a "roadside motel" - I could easily see why the reviews were so good! read more

They say don't judge a book by its cover. Well I guess the same might be applied to a motel by the outside appearance. This motel needs a lot of remodeling on the outside so I was afraid it would look awful and dirty inside but to my surprise it had modern furniture and looked pretty clean inside. Our room had two beds, an iron, mini-fridge, and two sinks (one inside the bathroom and one outside). Outside each room you'll find a name of an actor. Due to covid-19 you have to dial 0 around 6:30am until 10am and order breakfast. You get to choose from... Hot items: 1. Scrambled eggs 2. Meat 3. Pancakes Other items: 1. Bread ( toast) white or wheat 2. Cereal 3. Muffins 4. Yogurt 5. Fruit Drinks: 1. Coffee 2. Hot tea 3. Juice 4. Milk 5. Water We were impressed with their breakfast and thankful that they provided it. There was a laundry mat next to our room. This is a one story motel which is great because you get to park right infront of your room. We paid $112 for the night which we think is on a cheaper side. read more

This motel could use updating but at least the bed was very comfortable. Also, the breakfast was quite good. I paid an extra $25 for my dog but was very disappointed that the designated potty area was full of foxtail-like weeds. I spent a good 10 minutes removing these stickers from my dog so I wouldn't have a big vet bill when I got home. I'm all for having a designated potty area but please make it safe for the dog! Please weed whack the area. Did Travis P read my review or is this some sort of bot responding? My comment was about the safety of the designated pet potty area, not the cleanliness of it. I am so pleased with my experience at this Best Western. The room was extremely clean and well stocked. It was very cold outside but the room was nice and warm. In the morning we enjoyed a hot breakfast in the dining area. And everyone I spoke to (front desk, housekeeping, dining staff) added to the pleasantness of my stay. Wow this place lets you check out at 11am!!!!!! Amazing. Plus they still offer breakfast. I have been annoyed with other places that offer breakfast but stopped cause of Covid, yet still charge the same price. Here at BWP they take your order if you want hot breakfast and you can go get it or they will take it to your room. You can also just grab a Go bag for breakfast. Super clean and a great place. Waking up to an amazing view as well. Definitely a worthy place to stop and stay. read more

We had a last-minute need to get a room there were three of us, including one of us in a wheelchair we couldn't of gotten any luckier than to find this hotel with this room and this rate. Walking around the room you're instantly greeting by the living room space that would rival most studio apartments in Los Angeles if any other city. A rate was initially $108, but of course we used our AAA discount and got it down to 98. When you're splitting the room three ways for a night in this area it's like solid gold!! Breakfast the next day was really awesome and the lady working the breakfast section kept the fruit, yogurt, and scrambled eggs fresh! This was a Saturday and the beds were super comfortable!! Don't turn the heat on too high because it works really efficiently. Stay in the John Wayne Room!! It's the biggest and that's where we stayed. I'm Coming Back!! Wifi included!! read more

I have to review this place on a bit of a curve because it is in a very small town and you have to adjust expectations a little bit... This is a 1970s vintage motor lodge that is still run by the family that built it. Clearly they take pride in running the place, and I think most anyone would find it acceptable. It is clearly old and could use some renovation, but it is (for the very most part) clean. We got a good night's sleep (it was quiet) and the bed was very comfortable. Our only real complaint is that the carpet in our room appeared to be quite dirty and stained--which is kind of a turn off. I hope they can do something about that. In the morning we were treat to an amazing view of the Sierra Nevadas and a tasty free breakfast. I think this is the nicest place in Lone Pine, and I would stay here again. read more

Overall, probably one of the best places to stay in Lone Pine for the price. The staff are very friendly and they offer free breakfast. We stayed in 2 different rooms before and after our Mt Whitney hike and both rooms were completely different. This is a solid choice to stay at. Really enjoyed our 3 night stay here at Thanksgiving time. Very comfortable room, nice hot warm breakfasts, good heater, and extremely pleasant staff. The sights around are fantastic. The Alabama Hills where 250 movies were shot including GLADIATOR were amazing. You can almost see how violent the waters were to create them. HOW THE WEST WAS WON shot their Indian covered wagon chase scene there too. Anazing, and the Western Movie Museum was a way to fill in what you could not see in the Alabama Hills. We ate at the Alabama Hills Cafe which was excellent too. Sadly, our favorite place THE GRILL did not open the whole time. I heard great things about THE MERRY GO ROUND Chinese food place BTW. WE highly recommend the BEST WESTERN FRONTIER MOTEL as a great stop in any of your travels. It is perfect stop half way to RENO from Los Angeles BTW... They LOVE dogs HERE too! Great hotel on the 395! The rooms are immaculately clean and smell great as you walk through the door. Comfortable beds, and they have a separate air conditioner/heater in the bathroom which my kids really appreciated after taking a shower. Our room had a sink in the bathroom and vanity which really helped us get out the door faster. Nice hot breakfast with other options like pastries, yogurt, cereal etc, the whole family was pleased. Wow!!! My parents made the reservations - and I certainly had my reservations, as I was certainly doubting that this hotel was going to be nice. Was more than happy to be wrong. This place rocks!!! We pulled in around 3ish - plenty of time to unload let the kids run around on the grass and get some swim time in. Not only that but everyone there was super friendly. The rooms were really nice as well, surprisingly roomy we had 2 Queens and they had everything we needed to take a break on our rather long road trip. The only thing I would be aware of is the lack of food in the area. The front desk had Hot Pockets - but you should make sure you have your food figured out before it gets to late. We made out okay - had some microwaveable delicacies. Parking was easy but the best part was the next morning. Great view of MT Whitney - and a wonderful breakfast. The food was surprisingly awesome - they even had Almond Milk for those lactose intolerant folks. Will be staying here again if I'm ever going through the Lone Pines area. I really enjoyed my stay here. Check in was easy and clerk was pleasant. She informed me that breakfast was still being served but a little differently due to taking covid precautions. I was given a list of what could be ordered, call our order in the morning and I walked over and picked it up. A nice hot breakfast in my clean room. We stayed here last week after visiting the Alabama Hills (nearby). There is a good view of Mt. Whitney from the hotel parking lot. All in all, I was very pleasantly surprised with our stay at the hotel. It was clean, spacious, with friendly staff and a decent breakfast to boot. My wife and I sat out on the lawn area at night to watch the stars come out. Very relaxing indeed. I would definitely stay here again. read more
