Today my sister went for a follow up appointment to get the results of her testing after a stroke. The results she received has inaccurate information and a were results for a condition that she never had and was NOT referred to be tested. We have reached out to the facility to determine how this could have happened. The incorrect testing is a serious error that could adversely impact my sister's recovery. The data that therapists and doctors are expecting to see as she progresses through her treatment has not been conducted, and the wrong assessments impact her ongoing care. I am appalled and very upset by these results. Additionally, hours later there have been no acknowledgement of our concerns by anyone in the office, the office manager, or physicians. I have been waiting an hour and a half for an MRI. Someone called and asked if I was here and if I paid my co-pay which I had and they should have know. It is totally inexcusable to wait this long without staff providing some kind of explanation. But if I was five minutes late I'm sure they would cancel my appointment. I had an appointment with Dr. Loeb at the Fort Worth, Texas location. He would not let me ask questions about my issues was the first thing I noticed. He set me up for 3 day Neurological testing using electrodes on my scalp along with 2 other tests. After the 3 day testing the nurse removed the electrodes using straight acetone to remove them and dripped it all over my clothing. She had not offered me a towel or a bib and there was no ventilation in the room. As I was sitting there I Googled about putting acetone on hair. It said to rinse immediately and it should be used only as a last resort. I mentioned to the nurse and she plainly said not to worry about it and just go home and rinse it out. There was a sink in the room we could have very easily rinsed my hair. On the way home my hair started matting around all of the electrode areas. When I got home I started to rinse and use the coconut oil they recommended to remove the electrode glue. None of these things were working and the mats had hardened all over my head. The largest being 2" x 3" as I had long hair. My hairdresser wanted $500 to remove everything and Lone Star Neurology would not reimburse telling me to come back (a 3 Hr. round trip) and they would take care of it. As I arrived, the Office Mgr and 2 nurses worked on my hair for 7.5 hours removing the glue and about 1/3 of my hair. My scalp was left burning and very irritated with bald spots everywhere. They also used a solvent with hints of acetone for the 7.5 hours with no ventilation. It was hard to breathe along with a headache and slight nausea. My voice and lungs were raspy for a few days. On my follow up appt. Dr. Loeb did not have a care about what happened when I told him about this and the very next day he wrote me a dismissal letter. He would not give me a follow up appointment with my test results. Patient abandonment, harm, abuse and neglect. Not to mention all of the Insurance money they collected for what? read more

Best place I've ever been to. The man who did my MRI was very nice and helpful considering I'm cloister phobic. He helped me being comfortable and spoke to me through the whole examination. Sadly unless you're working with a smaller office and thus a much smaller group of patient specialists, you are going to run into really poorly ran offices and staff. I had to push them to get things handled properly but once that took place things seem to run more smoothly. Advocating for oneself is always harder when you're in pain so I totally can see why there are tons of 1 star reviews. Okay so moving on, as many seem to mention, the doctor I see is great here. I can tell he is no nonsense and to the point. I like that. His bedside manner isn't one that pads the ass of patients however I never found him abrasive. I have worked with neurologists for nearly 20yrs and I have seen good and bad ones. He is great. I miss my doc in SF who was the best honestly, but this doctor is for sure a great find and is skilled. Billing is a bit wonky here but I have found my way around that nonsense as I am versed in billing and coding so I stay on top of things. I can't really complain about their practices. They do what works for their office and if a patient understands policy and knows how to manage things on that end as well, it makes for a smooth process. Ask questions! Everyone wants to look to Dr Google for health related concerns but it seems nobody wants to ask for understanding on billing and coding lol. The info is out there. Do the leg work! Treatment - it's worked for me. There are options I have already explored elsewhere and I don't want to go back down that path here. I have a plan from my previous neuro and this one picked it up without any fight. His Pa is kind and compassionate and funny. What more can you ask for? Well maybe someone to answer the phone! But I ended up getting my doctors personal contact and bypassed all that nonsense. Tip: When you call, just leave a message with your name, dob, and number. They won't have it in your record without that information. They won't call back if it's not in your record. Trust me! Now that being said, don't expect them to call right back and lord knows if they do, it'll be from an unknown number or at the worst time possible (like when your kid has a blowout or meltdown and you are NOT getting that call, and that was your ONLY call back from them lol). Try to understand that a lager practice comes with bigger problems in the service department. This goes for anything but in the medical industry it is paramount. Don't want those issues? Go find yourself a practice with one or two doctors and a small group that manages that entire office. It's rare here but I'm sure it's out there. And yes, you may have to pay cash to see that doctor. Horrible, don't go! So glad we switched. The Dr was great but the office staff, appointment scheduling etc was insanely frustrating.

Super terrible administrative management. No one knows anyone else called you, they don't leave so much as a first name when they leave messages but also don't call-log anything in your file so they never ever know what you are calling back about. I've given them months to get better and it's now clear they're just not going to. Dr. is reasonably good, fairly knowledgeable about dysautonomia and not (so far) gaslighting, but you barely ever see a dr. and the PA is not at all as good and does not take good notes so they end up doing tests that they didn't pay attention to your requests or wishes on, in the wrong places on the body to show a result even though you told them where your symptoms were ahead of time. Nothing at all is done timely. Conversely, they also call a zillion times right after a visit to badger you about getting certain next steps done that you will for sure need more time for than they give you, but they don't prioritize anything you ask them. They also have no knowledge of their own portal and their portal doesn't let you reach out to different departments so doesn't do anything an email or a fax can't do. read more

I have been a patient in this practice for several years and the doctors are great. The office staff is terrible. They do not communicate with one another and forget about them answering the phone if you call or returning your call if you leave a voicemail. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. I'm a pretty patient person but even I can't deal with them anymore. They order repeat tests that are expensive and unnecessary. They order medications that even with insurance you can't afford and then when prior authorization is required with the insurance company LoneStar neurology just will not do it. Every visit they tell me that I have so many headaches a month and I have to remind them that that is the number per week not month. Thats just the treatment (well, lack of treatment). They add on so many extra "fees" that even after insurance you're paying full price. No medical office should make you feel unheard and taken advantage of. I have given them every chance but I am done and I hope this review helps someone else. read more

Avoid! Highly NOT recommended! I received a phone call from Lonestar Neurology telling me that I would no longer be seen by Dr. Hakam Asaad and need to find a new doctor. I asked several times why was I no longer being seen for no reason when I still need services and requested to speak to Dr. Asaad or his assistant Joseline. The office refused to give me an explanation and will not allow me to be seen anymore. The way I have been treated and spoken to as I have been trying to receive answers as to why I am no longer a patient for absolutely no reason have been absolutely disrespectful. If you have a genuine concern about your loved one's health, I would suggest you go elsewhere. My poor mother has been yanked around and left hanging for 51 days and she is still waiting for the proper paperwork to be sent to the correct location so the necessary tests can be completed. It took weeks for her to get the appointment for an MRI. Then me and my family who care about her had to rearrange their work schedules to get her to this imaginary appointment. After this place had her information for weeks, they were so disrespectful to her needs by waiting until one hour before her appointment to notify us it needed to e canceled. Why didn't they tell us sooner??? Weeks were wasted and it's clear her condition has gotten worse. They apologized and I was going to just go with the flow since they provided a name and info on a different location and promised me it would be rescheduled as a PRIORITY. Well, I have lost count of how many times I've called back and forth trying to get the paperwork sent to the correct location. Repeatedly, they promised it had been sent. Then, each time I called to ask what is the name of the place they sent this paperwork to? What is their phone number? Who sent it and to whom was it addressed so I could follow up with them personally. Then each time I called them back it got to the point where they would simply call off the fax number of where the paperwork had been sent. Each time the fax number was a new one, not matching the previous one that was shared. Another apology and another rabbit hole later and still waiting for the correct information to be sent to the correct location. Not to mention extremely poor service, but isn't this a HIPAA violation? By their own admission, my mother's name, her birthdate, her insurance information, her doctors' information, her medical diagnosis have all been sent by fax to a fax, repeatedly. It's obviously going to some unknown location that was obviously not meant to receive it. My next stop will be to report this gross negligence to the BBB. read more

We have met the neurologist once for three minutes at our first appointment. Every other visit has been conducted by PA's. We have never seen the Dr again and we've been coming monthly for 10 months. The PA's are good but Dr Shef is terrible. Rude, brisk, uncomfortable uninvolved. They asked us to show up half an hour early for our appointment and an hour and 15 minutes later we were still waiting. We had to go up to the counter to ask what the problem was and she told me the wait would be another 15 minutes. Not how a Dr's office should be run. read more

The doctors seem competent, but the wait times are extreme and the organization is lacking. In the space of 20 minutes I was given 3 different estimates on how long the tests would take, then finally discovered it would be hours longer than anticipated. If they did that once, I could understand it. They have now done it 3 times. Even now, I'm sitting in the waiting room 33+ minutes past when the test should have started. The worst. Dr Ansari has a heavy accent, zero bedside manner, is extremely rude, incapable of listening and spends the visit fear mongering. I have a well managed chronic neurological issue which, when I failed to buy into his fear mongering, he went as far as to say I could die from. That isn't even a possibility .... he literally resorted to making up stuff simply to get a reaction from me. The front desk staff are awful too. I've been going to Lone Star Neurology in Frisco for years and Jodi has helped me so much with my headaches and neck pain. I would not trust anyone else to do my botox/nerve block injections. She is a wealth of knowledge and so very good at what she does! Herlyn, the medical assistant I had today was great and they are all very kind and helpful. I used to have trouble getting through to schedule appointments but it seems like they have expanded their front desk staff and now they almost always answer or call you back in a very timely manner. When you do get a call back, either they are not the one that can actually set up the appointment, or they put you on hold in the middle of scheduling the appointment and never return. I saw Dr. Sheth in Frisco, and she was an excellent physician. The issue is that one cannot get through on the phone lines. Dr. Sheth did a thorough job with me, but I asked her to call me back and she did not. I don't know if she got the message or not, but I had emailed their office email asking for a return call several times. It took forever to get my medical records and I had to keep emailing. Sophia was the only one who helped me. She is Jody,the NP's MA. Sophia was a doll and was thorough and followed up with me several times. I was greatly appreciative of Sophia's assistance. It is extremely difficult to talk with anyone at this office in Frisco. They don't have a good system set up and it's beyond frustrating. Dr. Sheth was competent but not communicative. read more

They definitely know how to do the testing and charge you but god forbid they should get the report to another doctor so that they can treat you. It's been two months and my doctor that sent has yet to see a report. I will probably have to re-do the testing elsewhere and ask my insurance company to collect the money they paid this firm for it back just to get a report to the doctor who needs to treat me.
