Came here on a Saturday evening and it was super busy. We had to wait for a little more than half an hour from placing our order to the arrival of our food. However, to be fair, given how packed the restaurant was and we were told by our server that one server didn't show up so they had to cover, I'd say the wait was still reasonable. Our server was also pretty good in the sense that he came to check on us to make sure we were okay. We were given some complimentary chips and salsa so despite being hungry and the wait, there was something to fill our stomach first. We ordered the Surf N' Turf and Crispy Fish Tacos. Portions were pretty good and generous. Both dishes were decent; nothing super special but nothing bad about them either. Pricing is quite reasonable as well. We actually had leftovers since the portions were quite generous and I was impressed by the take out packages they had! They had these aluminum bags for the fajitas and their takeout box for condiments and sides was pretty organized and cute! I love Lone Star, it's a shame not many locations in the Toronto area. The free nacho chips and salsa is great, we ordered the fajita trio and had shrimp, beef, and chicken. Also the bunch of items on the side, rice, sour cream, salsa, cheese, lettuce, makes this great and filling. If you need more fajitas they are complimentary and you can ask the server. We also came with our child and she ordered the kids meal cheese quesadillas with fries which included a drink, and dessert option. I had the chance to try Lone Star Texas Grill recently and overall it was an okay experience. The menu is quite extensive with a lot of options and there is a lot of seating as well. The staff was great was able to get us seated right away and was kind. Now when it comes to the food, it was alright. Nothing about this place is special, its very average. I got to try the Chicken Fajita and the Cowboy Bacon burger. Both were good, just nothing very special I would come back for. I remember I used to come here a bunch when I was a kid but haven't been back in years as an adult. I have to say I really was pleased with the food. The steak fajitas were really delicious, well seasoned, and very tender. The complimentary chips are also just so good. I feel like people would come here for chips and beer alone. Although net necessity a wing place, they were pretty good and their daily deal made it even better. Service was friendly and the resturant fun. I'm not sure if they still have it but they used to have a tortilla machine you could watch as they get baked. Was really good to relive my childhood and the food was great. Well, Alberta also produces a lot of CW music! We wondered if management had heard of Shania Twain? We have not been here for a while and thought we will try it again . Now I know why! And it has nothing to do with the food which was quite decent! We got seated in the bar area which is ok but there was no real server for us. Constantly looking for someone. Had to beg for chips from the hostess because the server was never around. Saturday dinner and the place is poppin I think staff were in training as almost all staff were doubled up, my sympathies to the restaurant business as front line staff are difficult to find and turnover probably disrupts their customer service levels. That wait we have all been waiting for is over!! When Ontario finally opened up restaurant dining, my friends and I immediately booked a table. Reservations are required for most of the restaurants nowadays and we were extremely lucky to grab a table on the first day that restaurant dining was an option. Each patios were disinfected and cleaned before seating and have some distances between each table. Seating hour was 1.5 hour but they didn't kick us out even though we stayed past that limit. They did warn us that should it started to rain, we would have to pack our food and go since their patio area was not covered unlike some places where they had a plastic covering. Service from our waitress, Trouble (yes, that's what her name is) was great, friendly, and thoughtful as well! Menu remained the same. Was looking for a restaurant that offers a warm patio for the cold covid nights, and happy to found it here! The patio may not appear as warm and cozy as other restaurants' in the area, but it's actually super toasty and warm with radiators above the tables keeping us and your food warm. We came here on a Friday night and it was packed! We didn't have a reservation and was told it would be a 1.5 hour wait.. so we told the hostess that's okay, we'll go somewhere else for dinner. She stopped and asked if we are fine with being seated at the bar? We were okay with it. Once seated, it was a 20 minute wait to get our order in. Our servers were also the same staff that are in charge of bartending so they were quite busy. Other patrons sitting nearby also experienced a long wait. The Lone Star on Yonge closed and re-opened here - I def think this is a better location for them, it's much more central and busy. I really liked how you could choose lettuce wraps instead for a healthier low-carb option. Our waitress still gave us the tortilla wraps tho (mistake? idk whatever, i'll take it LOL) - and they were actually really good! They're served warm and they're nice and chewy. The toppings/condiments that are served with the faijitas were totally disappointing. Rice was hard and cold, cheese was fake a f, lettuce was wilty, and pico de gallo was mehh. The chimichanga was good! But it was a pretty small serving for the price... It's literally just a deep-fried burrito for over $15. The lil Steak Skewers were alright. Pretty decent amount of meat and tender too. Veggies were cold though. Service was alright here! We received our food at a decent time. I've been going to Lone Star Texas Grill for a long time. Originally I tried it first at their old location in Richmond Hill at Yonge and 16th Avenue. The food has always been amazing. The staff and the atmosphere is always great. On a busy weekend night the game is usually on, country music pumping. The staff are always friendly. I like the steak fajitas the best. Tender grilled seasoned steak on a bed of onions and a hot skillet. Freshly made tortillas, side dish of lettuce, cheese, pico, sour cream, Mexican rice and don't get me started on their home made salsa. Yeeee haw!! I love it now they have a self serve salsa (say that fast 5 times ... self serve salsa) and chips bar. At one time they would charge for chips and salsa after the one free serving. I tried quite a few items on their menu. From fajitas, wings, big rig burrito, tacos and quesadillas. All amazing. Anyways it's a great spot for dinner and lunch with friends and family. read more

Came to find out the menu is very limited, fajita, chicken wings; no BBQ, no smoke meat. We ordered a "dos" fajita (for 2). The beef and chicken were tender and well cooked, however the shredded cheese seemed to have been sitting around for awhile; the tortillas were scratched made but too thick. Yesterday, while I was at this Hwy7/Leslie plaza, thought i'd try this new lone star located right across from The Keg, where the old Boston Pizza used to be. The place isn't that big, but good in size, wide open so could be good for groups.. Started off good, got seated at a booth, host was friendly and gave us a little brief about the business and stuff since they only been open for a couple of months. Our server came to the table, he was wayyyy too friendly, more than a normal acceptable doze of "friendliness" before crossing the line fo be too pushy and personal! He has a loud tone of voice and kept crossing the line few times, saying things in a try of an up-sell, which is appreciated and worked few times so that's a good plus for this server. However, when you hear him saying the exact wording, exact tone, exact script to the three tables next to you..your opinion of this 'customer service' just drops to the bottom! They brought in chips and salsa on the house, I ordered chicken wings appetizer, that never came to the table till after mains started coming in (45 minutes later or so)! No apologies were reported! I had to ask for water three times and only came the third time after I finished my main! We ordered a combo fajita, which was good but too small of a portion for $20+ The burger was alright, nothing to report there...same with the wings..onion rings were a waste! There was a lady, who seemed to be in charge, she was running around trying to patch things around and fix what's being done... The place have some potential, BUT with some authentic menu like this, with the killer competition you have around at that plaza, food quality must be enhanced through the roof! Great food and even better service at the new Richmond Hill location. This is our third time visiting this location as a family and it always comes through with quality and tasty food. The rib steak and Fajitas are great. The fiesta also comes with a cheese queso. Yummy. If you run out of the side boats and tortilla shells they replace them for free. This was close by to the hotel I was staying in. After viewing the menu, I was really craving the taco salad, as I haven't had one is ages. I went in close to 5pm, and it was pretty empty. In the grand scheme of things, I wish he would have pushed the restaurant's rewards program, as you get free chips and salsa. I didn't know about it until halfway through my meal. So, I missed out on free chips and salsa. Anyway, I already had my mind set on a flight of margarita's, called the Three Amigos. I ordered the strawberry, mango and raspberry. These were very sweet. Could hardly taste the alcohol. Probably would get them again. Now, on to the taco salad. I was craving one with ground beef, but I didn't want the rice, and preferred the lettuce instead. So, I asked for the Santa Fe, but with ground beef. They were able to do that and it hit the spot. I think I was just really craving the tortilla shell. And, it hit the spot. It starts to get busy after 6:30pm and then you will have to wait a longer time for food. And parking is crazy after 6pm. Food is great. Love that they give you unlimited refills on toppings for your fajitas (ie: cheese, lettuces, and even rice) The protein portion for the fajitas is not so much but it fills you up with toppings and unlimited tortillas. Fifteen minutes later and four other parties sat they got around to sitting us...after I reminded them. So we sat....and sat....and sat for 20 minutes. No one said hello or made eye contact. So I went up to the hostess stand and asked them to send over our server as we had been there for 20 minutes with no one stopping by. She said she would tell her manager. Her manager was walking by and asked if we had been waited in yet which we replied no to. She said she would drop off the menus in her hand and be right back. After waiting another 5 minutes (we were sitting 2 booths from where the hostess stand was and the menu basket) we decided to leave...with no service at all after asking the hostess and manager for help. Upon leaving the manager was coming out of the kitchen speaking to a waitress. Funny how I thought she was going to drop off menus and be right back to get our order. That's the kicker, we were told that the person who should be making sure the customers are happy failed to take action when she knew and confirmed that we were being ignored, and continued to ignore us. I'm not a huge fan of Tex Mex, but I thought I'd give Lone Star a try. First time eating a chimichanga and I am so glad I've ordered it. The Chicken Chimichanga was huge and tasty! It was fully loaded. It was probably enough to feed 2 people or maybe I was simply full from eating the addictive chips and salsa we were given upon seating. I only managed to eat half of my meal and had to pack the rest to go. On a side note, my friend ordered the steak fajita and thought the meat was a bit too tough, chewy and dry. We have ordered from this restaurant at least three times. All three times an item was left out of the order and when I called the restaurant nothing was done. Lat night we put in an order through Skip The Dishes at 4:15. It was to be delivered at 6:30 - 7:00. At 6:58 the order was cancelled. We contacted Skip The Dishes and they said the restaurant said the order couldn't be filled. As you can imagine we were furious. My first initial impression of lone star was pretty average. When I walked in the place it was fairly empty even though the parking lot was full. The complex in general is probably one of the busiest ones you can visit in Thornhill/Markham area. It is impossible to find parking on even weekdays. From my quick glance of the menu, it seem to be strictly bar food/meals. I ordered the quesadillas and they were ok - they tasted kind of bland. I do generally like a bit of "kick" to my food so I added some hot sauce and it tasted a lot better. I ended up also ordering a sangria with my meal and I wasn't too pleased with it. It was very diluted with juice and ended up tasting more like fruit punch. Our waiter for the night was very active with our table in the beginning but slowly would disappear at the end so it was hard to order something else or simply get the bill.
