Sumer small $45.00 chicken burger!
Gary M.

January 19/2024: Lunch w Slipp. There was nothing specifically wrong with this restaurant. The servers were adequate, the food was small but not bad tasting & the location itself was ok. Bathroom needed some cleaning. The sandwich was $45.00!! Holy crap! Small sandwich, 8 onion rings...that was it. It's hit its breaking point. I mean $45.00!! Seriously!?

I love the setting in this restaurant . There is a regular patio as well as a rooftop. Friendly staff, excellent food and great atmosphere. Parking is a bit problematic and limited but there is plenty of parking across the street.

Food: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 I came here with a bunch of my coworkers on a weekday. We made a reservation beforehand as it was close to Sky Zone, where we were before. The atmosphere was really not bad, sitting upstairs kind of like an indoor patio area. With a size of 15+ people, the place was a little bit cramped but not too bad. The waiters took so long to come take our order, it was quite bad. I think we sat there waiting for the food order to come around for over 30 minutes. They did manage to get our drink orders first though, perhaps the only saving grace. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and one of my friends ordered their spicy wings appetizer. My quesadilla wasn't too bad, though if it didn't have the creamy jalapeño sauce, it would have been quite tasteless. My friend's chicken wings were very salty though, with no spice in the taste. Overall not a bad place for a group but quite expensive for the quality of food we got.

Having a quick lunch probably hit up a diablo burger today. Despite what's happening with the new Omicron Variant. I feel Like the managers and staff are keeping things super clean and safe. Thanks Changed my mind look at this Christmas burger wow!!!!!

Sharing super bowl and draft

Sunday work and lunch break with my partner. We ordered super bowl to share, it's very delicious and good portion for us. Healthy ingredients and just cooked right. Super happy with our meal. Grilled avocados turmeric grains, poached grilled beets, grilled chicken, tomato braised chickpeas, arugula, almonds...so great combination and the server is very nice too! recommenced!

Quick service, great and varied selection (they even have Ramen) and fun pub ambience. The sweet potato with garlic aioli appetizer is highly recommended. The servings are actually quite bigger than expected and very filling. Good thing I didn't opt for the optional 3rd Taco. Parking might be full on site, but you can park on the plaza across the street or in the residential area after 6PM (turning right from North to McCrae drive).

Veggie burger

Food was amazing. Got the veggie burger and loved it. Rooftop seating is very cute. Food and drinks came out quickly. Would come again when in the area!

Pirogies - appetizer.

Very nondescript outside facade - no sign telling you what it is other than a small "BSC" (for Bovine Sex Club) painted near the door. Hard to miss though as the exterior is made up a punk rock style sculpture of rusted bikes & other assorted ephemera. The interior is similar, visually. Great sound system & chill vibes pervade throughout. Weirdly the stage is right in the entrance of the club, on your left, with a long bar along the right side, heading back. Great, crowd, great location in cool area with lots of restaurants & plenty of parking - both on the street up to 2 hours & extended parking for a flat-rate of CA$20 (~$14 USD) from 6:00pm until the next morning, just 2 blacks away.

Are the beer cans running out? It's possible. But, it's a dive in the way of the old dives. And the acoustics for bands are... not great. But they are a sign of what once was. Without attempting to try to present a front of a time long gone, The Bovine simply exists today as it once did in that time long ago, before Smokes stickers, before iPhones, back when people would just go to a bar to talk with those they didn't know the morning prior. Bring cash though, unless you're looking to make some big orders, because credit card is a minimum fifty-dollar spend.

We ordered the oden set with yogurt soju, Taiwanese popcorn chicken, and the salmon fried udon with uni sauce. Everything was super comforting and flavorful, especially the oden on a cold night. What really made it stand out was the bingo game. It got the whole bar involved and made the night feel more interactive and social. We ended up chatting with a group nearby and even taught them a Malaysian yam seng cheers, which turned into a really fun moment. Great spot for a lively night out with good food and energy. Sometimes you walk into a place and you instantly fall in love…read more Lonely Diner is just such a place. It's got this '70s rec-room basement vibe that I personally find completely irresistible. If I had a house, I'd want at least one room that looks exactly like what Lonely Diner's got going on. And fortunately, the drinks and food live up to the incredible atmosphere. I started out with the Haw Yeah ("Rum blend, amaro meletti, pernod, hawflakes, high octane black sugar falernum, mulberry grenadine, lime"), which is a delicious spin on a typical tiki drink. I've ordered it twice now, and it's satisfied me completely on both occasions. Another favorite for me is the Lucky Numb-er 8 ("Gin, pomello & lemongrass gentian, cocchi americano, dry vermouth, sichuan peppercorn tincture"), which is their spin on a white Negroni. It's so damn good. It's packed with flavor and definitely reminds me of a Negroni, but like better than any Negroni I've ever had. If that wasn't impressive enough, the food is terrific too. I tried one of their specials, the Wasabi Fried Chicken Sandwich ("Sichuan peppercorn battered fried chicken with a wasabi spiced caesar dressing and anchovies on a brioche bun"), on my latest visit and it's so, so good. The perfectly cooked and impressively juicy chicken is accompanied by an incredibly flavorful assortment of accouterments. I inhaled it, pretty much. The servers at Lonely Diner are super friendly and helpful, too. I love Lonely Diner. I hope it sticks around for a long, long time.
