Absolutely terrible experience with this towing company. This company operates in a very unprofessional and dishonest manner. The driver agreed on a towing price first, but after bringing the vehicle near our home, suddenly demanded additional money. When we questioned the change in price, the employees became extremely rude, aggressive, and disrespectful. Even after payment was made, they still handled the situation in a completely unacceptable way. No professionalism, no transparency, and terrible customer service from start to finish. I would never recommend this company to anyone. If it were possible, I would give a rating below zero. Please think twice before calling this company to tow or transport your vehicle. read more

I want to warn future customers and express my concern about contracting Lone Star Towing In Austin Texas for your Towing needs! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They inadvertently and mysteriously got my Tow request for Service to pick up my car from Bastrop Texas and deliver it to Hutto Texas. Once their Driver (RON) arrived we exchanged pleasantries, things seem to be going okay; He appeared to be low key and polite; l handed him my Credit Card and told him that I thought their facility was located at a different location in Cedar Creek, which is close to the pickup location. (RON) then informed me they were out of Austin! My Contracted provider was supposed to be from Cedar Creek Texas, not Austin Texas. However, Since LONE STAR TOWING WAS ON HAND, I was prepared to allow them to proceed with the tow. Things Took a very Drastic turned when I inquired about the charge. (RON) quoted $368.00! I then, told (RON) my intended provider quote was $295.00. Upon hearing that Information (RON) immediately Gave my Credit Card back to me and in one motion Pivoted and walked away, going back towards the cab of his "rig"! I initial thought he was going to the cab of his "rig" to get some sort of equipment or perhaps make a call to his dispatcher about price matching! MAN was I wrong! He just drove off without the vehicle and, with no explanation or anything that made sense. (RON's) behavior in the end was absolutely Egregious, unprofessional, and Unacceptable as a customer service representative for THE LONE STAR TOWING COMPANY. He needs to be reminded that Customers have other choices! Where Rude and unprofessional behavior will not be tolerated or accepted! His Employment status needs an IMMEDIATE review. With that type of behavior he's a liability, not an asset to your company. James and his entire family are quality, honest and respectable folks and they run a quality business on honesty, integrity and customer needs. If I could leave 0 stars I would, this is the RUDEST person I have ever dealt with, I would NEVER use them again.

I have been fortunate enough to have not one car problem in the last 12 years... until the last few weeks! I found myself stranded at the carwash about 3 weeks back. My starter had decided it was done. It was 108° outside, and we called AAA. We were very specific that we did not need a jumpstart (we had already tried that). We clearly told them, "we just need a tow home" (which was only a mile away!). AAA told us they would come get us in 45 minutes. An hour went by, and no truck. So we called them again. They said, "Oh, we got the wrong address. It will be another 45 minutes." We were annoyed and very hot. It was even worse to know that we were just a mile from home, but not in an area where it was possible to push it all the way there by ourselves. So we waited. And then some totally unfriendly guy from Armada Towing showed up... IN A MAINTENANCE TRUCK! He said he was there to jump the battery. We told him that we had clearly requested a tow truck, not a maintenance truck. He then glared at my boyfriend's Star of David tattoo and immediately turned his back on us, got in his truck without a word, and left us there... STILL STRANDED in the miserable heat. We waited for a bit, thinking maybe he called for another truck, but then we thought about how he treated us like he didn't want to talk to us. So we called AAA yet again. They said they already sent someone from Armada Towing. So we told them about what happened, and that we still were there in need of a tow. So they said they would send another truck. By now it was 3 hours after my car broke down. The sun was just beginning to set, and we were totally bummed out. Here we pay our AAA membership dues (for several years), and this is what we get? We called back after more than 45 minutes, and ask them again. Apparently, the guy who came earlier from Armada Towing told his company that we "refused service" and not to come help us. This is what they told AAA, so we then started to file a complaint over the phone while they were looking for another service to come get us. I finally couldn't take it any longer, and decided it would be better to just pay out of pocket to get towed home quickly. I looked up towing services in the Austin area, and came across Lone Star Towing. Two of the friendliest men (James, the owner; and Carl, the driver) were there in about 7 minutes, They were so pleasant and had the true Texan spirit. I really was happy to have someone there to help, and with friendly smiles on their faces. They got us home immediately for $65. And funny enough, we got a phone call from AAA just as soon as Lone Star Towing showed up. They said, "We will have another truck out there in 40 minutes or more." We told them don't bother! AAA is supposed to reimburse me for this, but I am not holding my breath on that anymore. read more

NEVER use Lone Star Towing. The female driver Karen, asked me for the tool that goes with my car for towing, an o type tool screws into the bumper to pull the car on the tow truck. Tow drivers always put the tool back in the car after its towed......that is if they are honest! When i called and spoke with the owner and explained the situation i said she failed to put the tool back. He said"are you saying she's a thief?" to which i said she didnt put the tool back. Lone Star Towing owner then said "you're a lying sack of shit!" then i hung up. So if you need a tow and dont want a driver that doesn't return your property and an owner that curses at customers....DO NOT USE LONE STAR TOWING!!! Oh and the tow charge....$98.75 btw! read more

People please be WARNED with this people !!! I had my car Towned at my home because they said I didn't have a permit which I did . Before even arriving at the storage facility I tried over and over to get in touch with these people to at least make Sure my car was even there and no one ever answered my call had to drive there and turn my car alarm on to verify and indeed it was there but no answer neither on the phone or at the gate. Keep in mind this is a 24 hr company had to call the police to be able to get my car out . The man at the office was so unprofessional and very rude and disrespectful,and since trying to get ahold of them to them finally releasing my car it took 4 hrs! While there we witnessed how the drivers that came with several vehicles simply drove in and slipped them off and left which means none of them where safely secured. We also watched how before dropping them off they would stop at a gas station right down the block would open the vehicles and search through them ! Car after car the would unlock them with a slim Jim when one saw me recording I asked what he was doing in the vehicle because he was doing something illegal and he flipped me off and responded with " I don't give a fuck" needless to say be very careful with this company read more

I'd like to give these guys the benefit of the doubt, but I had a fairly negative experience today. My wife was in a car wreck and I let the Manor police choose the tow company so I could make sure she got medical care since she's obviously more important to me than a car. So when I provide Lone Star's information to my insurance company as provided to me by Manor PD, a few days later I get a call saying they've been trying repeatedly to get in contact with Lone Star Towing and not gotten an answer. When they finally did get a hold of Lone Star they were told that Lone Star didn't have my vehicle. So I got the run around between Manor PD and 3 other towing companies, all of whom said they didn't have my car. When I personally decided to call Lone Star and said that I was trying to see if my car had been towed to their lot, I was immediately cut off and asked if I was looking for the exact make and model of the car I own. I said yes and then they said something to the effect of "You people need to stop calling us, we don't have your car." So I'm pretty concerned at this point. 1) Rude 2) If they don't have my car and none of the other tow companies that Manor PD gave me has my car then where is it? Eventually I get routed to Travis County Sheriff's Office, they checked their dispatch log and saw that Lone Star had in fact towed my vehicle on the day in question. So the Sheriff's office called Lone Star and called me right back to let me know that Lone Star Towing towed my car, but not to their lot, to yet another lot in Round Rock. That's where I found my car. So really, all of this could have been solved if Lone Star Towing had just told my insurance company where they towed instead of saying that they don't have my car. Instead they waited til they got a call from Travis County Sheriff's Office to provide useful information. Now I don't really know all the details here, but come on, you can do better than cut me off when I call in a pleasant tone of voice and am polite. I'd give one star here, but there may be extenuating circumstances I'm not aware of. I'm not optimistic about the bill here, I expect to get bent over at this point. Hopefully it gets covered by my insurance. Not happy. read more

I actually wanted to point out a good Samaritan act I saw by one of your drivers yesterday. He was obviously on the job because he had a car hooked up to the back and was towing a car out of my apartment parking lot. As he was leaving he noticed a girl with her hood up trying to get her car started. He stopped and helped her get the car started out of the kindness of his heart. I hope that this doesn't get him into trouble, but I was really happy that this guy didn't just drive on by, but used his Auto skills to help a stranded stranger. read more

I called Lone Star around noon and the truck arrived 20 minutes later. They called me every step of the way and communicated everything perfectly. The price was even better than I was quoted. It was as flawless of a transaction as anyone can hope for in a vulnerable situation. I would definitely use them again, although I hope I won't have to! read more
