I think I've been to every Discount Tire in Austin and was thrilled that there was one close-ish to me. It looks very new and has a dedicated lane for tire pressure. The gentleman who helped me was very friendly and courteous even though he had a line of cars. (They won't tell you but I'd recommend tipping them a few dollars for their service). I'm not looking forward to my future tire pressure light inevitably turning on. But I know where to go to get it fixed!

Before I ever set foot through the door, I shopped for tires on their online website and made my choice based on the ratings and manufacturer. You can call and they will give you some recommendations for your car, but it's best to go online first to see firsthand what you'll be getting. Some brands and sizes may need to be special ordered before you arrive. If you've bought tires in the last year or so, you know how expensive they are getting which is why being a proactive tire shopper is important. I actually arrived half an hour early and my special order tires were waiting for me. They got me in right away and even offered to give me a front end alignment scan for free to see if any adjustment was needed. One thing I recommend is that you ask to see the date stamp on the tire to make sure you're getting the most recently manufactured tire. The newer, the better. One big advantage of this location is that there are several restaurants and many retailers in the immediate walking area to spend your time at. If you wanna wait inside, they do have free water, but no coffee or TV. Since I paid online, I was handed the keys and on my way.
