Lone Star is the worst company I've ever interacted with. While towing the vehicle next to mine in the early morning hours of June 23rd, 2025, they let it slip off of their tow truck and slam into mine, which was parked properly in its stall. They proceeded to leave my car without placing a note, or attempting to contact me in any way to restore the $5,289+ in damage that they caused my vehicle. If a friend of mine hadn't let me know what happened, they would have gotten away with a hit and run. I ended up asking them to pay me for damages for an entire five months before having to resort to suing them. They never offered me more than $500 for the damages. It was only because of the lawsuit that they were ordered to pay me for the value of the vehicle, and they didn't even do so until now, a year later, when I reached out to remind them to comply with the judge's order after three months. Their systems failed on all levels, causing a three car accident, covering it up, and being dismissive and unapologetic in helping make me whole. They only did the right thing when forced to do so by the state of Utah. During our correspondence, they also informed me that their company and policies considered the three-car crash they caused to be a "non-reportable accident", meaning that they do not feel the need to report accidents like that to the police as required by law, or to at least leave a note to attempt to establish contact with me. They made no such attempts. It is therefore clear to me that Lone Star Towing Utah, LLC, is not managed in an ethical way. Their towing and reporting systems were showed to have failed. Because of the extensive size of their lot and sheer quantity of the contracts that they have, I know I was not the first to be damaged by them and surely will not be the last unless they face accountability and consequences for their lazy and unethical practices, policies, and procedures. read more

Do not use this company. Just don't. They are a predatory towing company that cruises around in the middle of the night and snags vehicles from the properties they manage. In my case they did so at 2:00 in the morning on a Sunday. Brilliant, they not only nailed me for the maximum the state will allow, they hit me with an $80+ "storage fee" for two days. Very convenient to get wring those extra $ out by timing the tow at the time they did. I called their number Sunday night, after enduring an IVR that took 6 minutes, they sent me to voice mail. Their system auto-replied with a benign text. I called Monday and set an appointment to meet them at their "lot". I called at 10:30 for an 11:30 appt. They called back at 11:15 to confirm the appointment I made 45 minutes earlier. I was getting gas when they called; I texted them right back and they then dispatched a driver who was 8 minutes late. If you are looking for a respectable towing company, skip over them. My daughter borrowed my car and forgot to put the parking placard for her condo on the mirror. If you are a property manager, I strongly suggest that you find another company. Oh, and if your car is towed to their Orem lot, it will need to pass over an extremely rough dirt road. Check it for damage before you retrieve it. Also, bring cash because they will tack on an additional 3% if you don't (even for debit cards). read more

They lie to peoples faces in order to leave properties and create bigger fees aka more money for them and their drivers. Shady company/tow truck drivers who seem to show a pattern of being trained to not offer options/drop fees etc in order to take peoples vehicles back to their yard where they can charge an outrages amount of $450+ from hard working people during already tuff times.. Lone Star Towing was great! I needed my car towed to get fixed and the first two tow trucks (not from lone star) came out and couldn't tow my car because it was "too close to the curb". Keep in mind this curb was very short and easy to get by. After a long day I called lone star and they were so nice and said it would be no problem and Seito the driver arrived soon after I called and they towed it within the hour! They kept me updated and sent me pictures of my car being towed! Lone star towing is great not even a little curb can stop them lol. Extremely predatory and dishonest company. I was parked legally with a handicap pass and was towed. Then the next day when trying to get it back, they made me wait for almost an hour at the impound lot before they finally arrived. Then they tried to hurry me out and refused to acknowledge that the handicap pass was still clearly visible in the car, even after they towed it. If I could give negative stars, I would. Wouldn't let my son into his glove compartment to show proof of registration, so he had to leave that night using Lyft again. Made the "required" appointment to pick up his car.....showed up on time, and no one was there....called to say he was there and asked where they were....got the response "no one shows up to their appointments, so we don't show up". He had to sit around 30 minutes for them to show up. REAllY?! Absurd. Filed a complaint to get a partial refund back......yeah, that is a joke. It's been weeks and no response. I was told it could take up to 6 weeks. It just so happens their complaint department it totally separate from their towing company, so there is no direct way to get a hold of them.....I'm sure they set it up that way on purpose. I'm sure they are just hoping we forget or give up. My son is happy to pay his portion, but the employee who was jerking him around the night he was trying to get his car back (the first time) made it more expensive, and we expect that money back. Vehicle towed was registered through the proper channels. It was my father's vehicle, so I wasn't familiar with the license plate and entered the information I believed to be correct. The tow company's system allowed me to enter a O instead of a 0. The driver would later tell me that Utah does not even allow for O to be on license plates. A $370 dollar charge for a clerical error is not reasonable and unjust. Them knowing that O cannot be on license plates leads me to believe that this is a deliberate practice used to extort money from unknowing citizens. read more

I said on the phone she could pay it. They said they couldn't take her credit card. They wouldn't take mine either. Said they needed cash....... Who carries cash anymore!!!! They towed my trailer in the middle of the night and lied to me about when they towed it so the fees were $500 plus. It was there less than a day and should have only been $200 at most! They said they had a picture of it time stamped so I asked to see the time stamp and they wouldn't show me. I know for a fact that my trailer was there when I went to bed at 10pm and when I woke up at 7am it was gone. They snuck in the middle of the night and took it and claimed it was in their yard for a day and a half already. Crooks, liars and I hope they get what's coming to them. If I can find a neighbor with a camera to prove my trailer was there I can't wait to take them to small claims court and see them get screwed over!!! read more

They post spotters near lots so they can jump in and steal your car before selling it back to you at the maximum price the state legally allows. A number of my friends park at a lot next to my apartment, and it was well known that it would be patrolled at 1AM. Apparently they changed it to 11PM and failed to notify any locals, and slapped up a few signs with small writing to show their new hours. Only problem is that all 4 of these signs have the parking time conveniently scratched out. When we explained both the time change and illegibility of the signs, the staff responded with "we changed them yesterday so for all we know you guys could've vandalized it". Are you kidding? Real quality service from some stand up guys, he even added a "are you going to bitch and complain all night or do you want your towing info?" These punks are bottom feeders and prey on every college student who leaves their car unattended for more than 5 minutes. This happened a few months ago and forgot about it until today My boyfriend, his brother, and me all live in an apartment complex these people tow for, someone from this company came into the complex and straight up towed my boyfriends truck even though his truck is registered on that apartment complex's website, and on their website. They tried making him pay $350 because THEY f****** up. The apartment complex told them that we weren't paying it because his truck was registered and he got his truck back without paying. If you're going to own a business don't be scumbags about everything and make sure the cars you're towing actually have a reason to be towed. read more

BULLIES! Unfortunately, Utah law has created legal bullies. They are careful to stick to the law (except Bob H. 2 weeks ago who got charged 2 days storage for 2 hours that went over midnight. Law says if the first 6 hours span 2 days they can only charge 1 day). They may be legal, but what they do isn't right. They are also VULTURES. They tow as soon as they can and then charge almost $400 before they'll release the car an hour later. The law allows them to charge ridiculous amounts like a $30 "fuel surcharge" that is 18% of the ridiculous tow fee - regardless of how far they tow the vehicle. This place is 1/3 mile from where they tow cars relentlessly. Not even $1 worth of gas, but Utah lets them charge that huge fee... and an admin fee... and the tow fee... and the daily fee even when it hasn't been even close to a day. They are raking it in and laughing all the way to the bank. If you've ever wondered where school bullies that flunked their classes end up? My daughters car was towed from a parking lot. The parking lot was clearly marked as a tow away zone so the fact that she was towed was her fault. However, she was towed just before midnight so that her car would almost for sure be held until after midnight. The state of Utah allows towing companies to charge $40 per day storage fee. She was charged an $80 2 day storage fee when her car was there for less than two hours. They boast that they do all of this for companies for zero cost to the company. So the $291 tow charge went directly to them. Good money for less than two hours work! I should have called my lawyer. Not to fight the charges; just to tow her car! It would have been cheaper. So this place is not a good one. My car is parked LEGALLY and NIGHTLY at the Walmart in springville since I'm a wildlands firefighter. They drove around the lot 13 minutes before I got.back to my car and put a paper ony window claiming I'm parked.illegally. so my car being fully registered and insured parked between the lines is illegal? Lone star towing picked up my vehicle which my son had parked inadvertently in a tow zone, and in the process, ripped my front bumper nearly all the way off. Then they tried to claim it was preexisting and we had been driving it like that - even though we have multiple people who can state this was not the case. They refuse to make even the least effort to make this right. All we want is the bumper fixed (not even replaced) and a refund for the fee paid to get the car back. Awful costumer service. My car was wrongfully towed so I went over to their Provo location (which was very gross/ dirty) and no one was there. I called the number on the website multiple times. Finally someone came and the worker tried to over charge me. He gave me attitude when I tried to correct him. Very dishonest people and when I tried to talk to the manager he wouldn't even get out of his car as I politely waited for him for 10 minutes. The HOA fees that I pay pays Lone Star to "service" my complex. Each time a tow truck has been requested, Jackson has assured me someone will come and no one has ever come.
