I STRONGLY CAUTION ANYONE CONSIDERING WICKED POOLS (Formerly Lonestar Pools) in NB. Our experience has been extremely disappointing in both workmanship and accountability. We bought our house in April, and our fiberglass pool was only a year old. It has developed widespread discoloration - irregular white markings, mottling and pigmentation issues across the floor, ledge and walls. These are NOT stains. Extensive testing ruled out organic, metal or chemical causes. The markings are highly irregular, swipe-like streaks, circular patterns and even what appears to be a shoe mark on the ledge. These are not normal wear patterns and clearly are install/repair related defects, likely from improper curing. Despite installing the pool, they have refused to take responsibility or offer any help at all and stand on a "non-transferable" warranty as an excuse. A 2-year-old pool should not look like this! Their refusal to stand behind their work speaks volumes. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. read more

My fiberglass form was installed at the end of January, 2021 and it's almost August. I'm left with more than $5k in landscaping and construction quotes to fix and finish it. Lonestar was supposed to level and grade my yard but they hauled off all the dirt that could've been used for this. I spoke to Lonestar and their contracted landscapers who both told me that fill dirt would be delivered and the yard would be leveled, but it wasn't. The pool sits in a block of concrete that stands a full 6 inches above the ground, surrounded by dirt, construction gravel, and chunks of concrete that the crew didn't clean up. My yard has a depression from the build that turns into a small pond when there's heavy rain. There are also PVC plumbing pipes sticking out from under my porch (where they were supposed to be hidden.) The porch will need to be extended to cover them, they're just a few feet from the pool and very visible. I've only used the pool 4 times this summer. Someone was supposed to teach me how to balance the chemicals and operate the pump controls but no one showed up to any of the scheduled appointments. The pump has about 30 settings and 25 don't seem to do anything... a user's manual was not included. I've asked Lonestar management to address the "pool school" and landscape issues but I have not heard back. Having gone through this, I would not recommend a fiberglass pool. The builders require payment in full when the form is installed but the work is only partially completed at that point. read more

My pool is fine but there are some issues. They misplaced my pool by 5 foot. This cause a patio alignment issue with the concrete. I had to pay another $900.00 for them to fix their mistake. Manny our contact/salesman would even work with me on the price. I was charged full price to fix the issue. They agree with my HOA and me to use a field behind my house to access my backyard. Instead the crew decided to take a short cut to my backyard through the community park. They broke the sidewalk, which they did repair. They also made ruts destroying the ground in our nice park. After weeks of hounding them they roughed grade and filled the holes. It still looks horrible and they so far have refused to repair it back to its original condition by putting down sod. Manny told me to go buy grass seed and it will grow back. They are willing to accept responsibility for their mistakes and complete the proper repairs. So I contracted lone star for my pool and this has been a horrible experience. The pool was placed within the first week to get funds released and now they have not been back. I have no cement. No pump and no filter. Promise date was 2 months from start and now 2 and a half months later no movement. I am going to write a review for beginning, middle and end. So far, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE is my suggestion! The ONLY reason they have 2 stars instead of 1 is because Israel, the man actually digging and setting the pool is a wonderful man. Other than that, here we go: 1. They were super friendly and responsive when we came in to purchase the pool-of course. 2. Their finance company is a JOKE! We bought our home and I do not work. They would not accept our deed from the new house, my name is on the electric statement and not my husband's so they would not accept that, and the excuses kept growing. They would not tell you something was unacceptable until two days later, and we would have to try to jump through hoops to get what they needed. My husband begged them to just call and nope, didn't happen. We were supposed to start digging May 17th and I was notified May 15th they were postponing a week due to the financing issues. 3. May 24th was supposed to be start date, and as of May 23rd I heard NOTHING from them. What time they would show, what to do to prepare, etc. Customer care is a joke! 4. They sent someone out to outline the pool placement to avoid electrical, sewer, etc. I thought that was the entire point of having it staked our- well the broke the sewer line and now we are told it is in our contract to fix it! We are two days into this process and I am starting to regret my decision. My neighbor's pool has a discoloration to it that they have been waiting to have properly fixed for a year! BUYER BEWARE. Read all negative reviews because they are all accurate. Our "pool" is a sitting pond for toads and wildlife. Do they care, no. This company has failed us over and over again. Communication? Laughable. The plumbing and pool were set in early May 2024 and we are still waiting for ANY additional work to be done. Comping done, nope. Concrete laid, retaining wall built, not even close. Pump, filtration - does it even exist? Electrical components, none. This was supposed to be an exciting time for our family and it has turned into a nightmare. We are so disappointed. My recommendation, find another pool company. Take note - Wicked Pool Guys is the new sales face of Lonestar, according to their office staff. read more

DAILY (unfortunately) UPDATE (3 Oct, 24) Although the business response sounded like they were working on remedying our situation, like I expected, I have had no response. My pool is sitting with no equipment to circulate the water, which is required to keep the calcium buildup and concrete dust accumulation from completely ruining our pool. Cathlyn Owens, the single approval authority for authorizing funds to get the equipment that we've already purchased, will not approve this purchase and will not answer any of my calls or call me back after MANY attempted calls to her. Her husband, who owns the company, is a Laissez-faire owner that will not communicate with anyone, including his own employees, even when his company is completely screwing people over. They both have my phone number and have NEVER reached out or called. Any responses to this review update will probably be from their marketing manager, Shawn Phillips, who is just trying to sound like they actually care when they really do not. UPDATE (Oct 2, 2024): In response to the reply I got for this review. First, I didn't just bring this to anyone's attention, I've emailed and called consistently for MONTHS now and talked with multiple people that have given me different excuses or just not responding at all (where I'm at now). This response to my review is pretty much the same response I've been given for months, to include the concrete that took forever to get completed, to this equipment issue, which I was trying to head off a long time ago. Second, I have no idea who you are, Shawn P., because I've never heard your name the many times I've called to try and get any resolution to the many issues we've had (aside from just this equipment issue), and the only name I've been given that has any approval authority it seems is Cathlyn, who is never in the office when we call, morning, afternoon, evening...and nobody ever knows when she'll be in or if it will even be that day or the next and it appears that she is also unreachable to all the other workers there, which is a huge issue, especially being the only one there with decision authority. So excuse me if I don't take your response seriously, because I've heard that load before from you all, many times. And if you're actually a manager there that has any authority and can resolve this issue, I'd be happy to receive your call...your staff definitely has my number. I'm not sure why the Owner/Manager response below says that Lonestar Fiberglass Pools is no longer in business, since we have a contract with them and are still waiting for equipment?? The equipment is also the primary reason for this review right now. The only person that can approve things, like buying the pool equipment that I've inquired about for months now, is not reachable and does not seem to be in the office any time I call. We cannot use our pool because they do not have the equipment in. I've been given a lot of different excuses as to why my equipment has not been in for months now, but everything is finally (after a long time) finished except the equipment. I was told they would purchase it locally since it is not in the shipments they get, but the purchase needs the signature of the COO? (Cathlyn), who does not respond to calls or emails. If I could give negative stars I would. This company is horrible! After reading other reviews I think they prioritize customers with bigger more expensive projects. At any rate, I would say to take your business elsewhere. These guys don't care about their customers at all. That is my short review. All the details follow, and it's going to be long. Lonestar started installing our pool on November 7, 2023. Here we are on February 27, 2024 and IT'S STILL NOT DONE!! They do not communicate well at all, and generally unless we call them, we hear nothing. If they take our calls we are met with excuses. The contract said it'd be 1 week from when they dig the hole until we can swim. Verbally they said a month. Either way, 3 months and 3 weeks later is just plain unacceptable. Our fence was down from Nov 7 - Feb 20th, which means we couldn't let our dogs out in the yard for over 3 months. Not to mention all the stuff they left in the yard all this time. The 1st 3 days they dug the hole, installed the pool, and got the pipes installed for the pump. Then things sat untouched until after Thanksgiving, when upon our complaining they came and finished filling in the hole around the pool. They almost never knocked or called 1st to say they'd be here. We'd just suddenly find people in our back yard. Afterwards, things were untouched for a while again, until finally the cement company came to put in the forms so they could pour the concrete. They didn't send people who spoke English except on day 1, so we never got a quote for the extra work. It took 2 or 3 days for them to get the forms in. Again, things sat with no progress for weeks. The forms were in sometime before Christmas. The concrete wasn't poured until February 2nd!! And then, probably only because we called and bugged Lonestar. Company 1 didn't do anything, so they had to get company 2. Upon completion, they left the garbage in our yard, though bagged up and in neat piles. Called to complain, spoke to Cathleen and then she never called me back. They finally came to get rid of all their junk, clean up the extra gravel, and put the fence back up last week but still haven't fixed the yard. They left the wood from concrete company #1 in the lot next to us that is still under construction, instead of taking it with them. There are 3 other big issues here. #1. They've had our money since 11/08/23, and our pool is still not useable and our yard is still a mess on 2/27/24. #2. The pool is not all the way in the ground. The front is 8" above the ground, and the back 10". They suggested that if we wanted a walkway from the patio to the pool to keep things level with our bottom step. They did not explain that this would mean the pool wasn't fully in the ground, or talk about this in any way. The height of the walkway is very unsafe. #3. We still do not have the pump, which supposedly they ordered in November. It should have been ordered when they got our deposit, which was well before November. They claim it's on backorder and has been for all this time, yet they refuse to get us a different pump of equal, or better, quality. Let me reiterate that it's been 3 months & 3 weeks since they started. This is just insane. Day 1 they had us start filling the pool. It's been mostly full since day 2. Which means it's been an ugly, algae infested cesspool for most of this time. Someone came to clean it shortly after the concrete was done. Took them a few times. But that was the week of 2/5, and now it's 2/27 and it's pretty gross again because we still have no pump. After threatening to get a lawyer involved if it's not completed by March 1st they are now saying it will be done this week. I'll believe it when I see it. Please stay away from the company. They don't care about their customers and are just plain awful! read more

I purchased a pool from Lonestar and was told it would be 2 or 3 months until they could start. I can live with this, as everyone is backed up these days. When they finally started on my pool in September, the nightmare began. I was told 4 to 8 weeks from start to finish. 4 months was the actual time to complete. During this time we had to pick up all the contractors trash (beer bottles, food wrappers, used batteries, etc.) from the yard ourselves. Lonestar said they would pick it up upon completion! I don't like to live with trash for 4 months. The pool heat pump was installed just inches away from my A/C unit, until I told them to move it to get air space between them. I ended up spending an additional thousand dollars to have them run a 30 foot cable to a new electrical box (I purchased that). the system is not a complete Pentair as listed in the contract, but a Hayward pump as a replacement. I cannot add on a Pentair remote system anymore. The Salt Generator cell got glue poured on it during piping, so the top had to be broken off before it could be used. Several of the pipes leaked for a few weeks after start up. The backflow check valve had glue in it, allowing my prime to break every time the pump stopped. I have had 4 different project managers assigned to my pool, but they seem to keep quitting! Not once did a project manager come out to look at the pool or site. I was just told to send pictures of any problems. I would never do business with this company again, and have already started letting the neighbors know what a poor choice this company is. read more

We researched fiberglass pool companies for about 5-months before deciding to go with Lonestar Fiberglass pools. Our purchase and construction was fine. The problem came a few months after our pool was installed. We began to notice large lettering and a phone number essentially scrolled across the bottom of the pool. We immediately brought this the attention of our salesman and the response, or lack there of, was poor. It was not until we posted a negative feedback comment on their company's Facebook page that the owner and construction team reached out to us. We were told the only way they would address the issue was to remove our comment. We agreed in an effort to have the issue addressed. They sent two members of their team to our home to view the problem and confirmed that lettering and a phone number were visible across the bottom of the pool. After several more days of waiting and us proding them for a response, they finally responded. Their representative told me they would drain the pool and sand the bottom but WOULD NOT recoat it. I asked if this would exacerbate the issue of uneven fading and she confirmed it would. We opted not to take this course of action. Minutes later the company owner called me and said they would do the same but "polish" the bottom. We once again refused. At this point we had little to no trust in the company's ability to properly address the issue and feared they would cause further damage to the pool and leave us with an expensive mess to fix on our own. We opened a claim through BBB and they refused our request for a refund of $1,000 which would allow us to have another company address the issue. They grossly overstated the cost of the pool and claimed to have given us a huge discount. They claimed the pool was being sold for about $35k when the initial quote we received from their salesman was for $24,500 (on December 17, 2015) and we ended paying $20k. We were not in the market for a "discount" product as they alleged, but provided the saleman our budget so he could offer a product that was within that. The issue was not resolved and we are sincerely disappointed. We would not recommend this company to anyone because of their lack of customer service and rude responses when you are able to make contact with them. read more

The installation of this pool was the worst experience of my life. Pool gel coating is also defective with large round fading spots on the bottom of the pool which unsightly and depressing to look at. Pool wasn't leveled correctly which causes uneven water levels, was told that the pool equipment and pumps/filter needed to be no further than 5 feet away from the pool, which makes for loud, noises when pump is running. The subcontractor obviously didn't know what he was doing. Would show up and leave at various times with no communication with us. Sometimes gone for days. The concrete decking which we paid handsomely for was suppose to have a tan coloring to it. It doesn't. The concrete pour was rushed and inconsistent. We have rust stains coming up through the concrete from the rebar mesh to this day (8 years later).the decking was also supposed to have rock salt embedded in the surface for a consistent pitted look. They threw a couple of hands of rock salt on top of nearly already hardened concrete causing the pitting to be good only in random Ares and non-existent in others. The rock around the hot tub (which we also paid extra) is now cracking and falling off because the wrong mortar was used. When turning the hot tub on, water leaks from beneath the rock causing unsightly water leaking across the pool decking. The spillover from the hot tub into the pool has never worked correctly and the rock edges of the spillover actually fell of causing water to backflow beneath the ledge. Two jagged rocks were carelessly shoved beneath the ledge to support it and painfully nasty to look at and harbor algae around them. The skimmer area and decking are actually slightly raised from the concrete decking which causes you to catch your foot as you walk across. The gel coating at the bottom of the pool has worn 3 very large faded spots/rings and is unpleasant to look at. Some of the tile work around the top edge of the pool has come off. Like I said, this pool installation was rushed, requests from homeowners ignored, poor workmanship and countless mistakes made which we have to contend with and look at the rest of our lives! If you are thinking of installing a fiberglass pool, LOOK ELSEWHERE!! -Having to live with a shotty pool forever read more
